3 mobile
My contract with EE is coming to an end ..thinking of swapping to 3 network .
Can anyone on 3 network tell me if coverage is any good in and around turf Moor..half time scores etc ...or even better if anyone has been with both EE and three and can tell me which they found best ...also is it worth getting a 5G phone ...thanks in advance

Re: 3 mobile
I switched from EE to Voxi which is part of Vodafone a while ago. Miles better and great value without entering into a contract.

I have 5g on EE and it is useless at half time on the game.
Are you with Virgin Media for Internet or TV? I recently upgraded my Internet and they have a deal involving unlimited 3 data along with 1gig Internet speed and full sport TV package all for £100 a month which isn't bad.

EE useless on the Turf for me on matchday in BLS.
Calls and texts are fine, Internet pages won't load and time out.
Top deck Longside under 21's was fine.

Re: 3 mobile
Isn’t the issue with the signal due to the quantity of phones accessing the networks from the same location rather than the network?
I didn’t have any issues last Thursday at the u21 game

Re: 3 mobile
This is the exact problem Wilks. During the 1st or 2nd half when there is no play on the pitch I can easily access the scores in other games, but come half time when everyone is using the same network, then you have no chance.

The op is looking at changing networks when that’s not going to rectify his issue
It’s similar to trying to make a phone call at 00:02 on 1st January. Everyone is accessing the networks at the same time

Some of you beat me to it.....it is not the actual network you are on it is the load on the masts at certain times.....add to that the mass of electronic interference when in the ground and I don't think any network will be better than another.....St James Park is the same....when I was on for the Cup game my Sky was crap and also my stepsons EE was equally crap inside the ground....

Exactly ... doesn't matter what network at a footy match ... its down to the masts and interference ...ClaretDiver wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 3:48 pmSome of you beat me to it.....it is not the actual network you are on it is the load on the masts at certain times.....add to that the mass of electronic interference when in the ground and I don't think any network will be better than another.....St James Park is the same....when I was on for the Cup game my Sky was crap and also my stepsons EE was equally crap inside the ground....
I used to be on Vodafone here at home and the signal in the house was diabolical similar when I moved to O2 ... now am on BT Mobile (EE merged with them last year to share masts and infrastructure) its now brilliant at home ... but total crap at t'Turf on match day ... but so is most other peoples regardless of network ... its down to the volume trying to use it...

I regularly use the internet with my Voxi sim while on the Turf in JMU and the concourse. I used to have EE and got little or no connection.

Just to check, you’re basing the choice of mobile network on your ability to access the internet in the 2 hrs every 2 weeks you need it? And not the 99% use case?

5G will be useless anyway unless you are in a 5G area....also, is your handset 5G ready?claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 9:44 amI have 5g on EE and it is useless at half time on the game.

Re: 3 mobile
I do get 5g at work but in other areas reverts to 4g, but honestly the things I use my phone for, you don't even notice the difference. For someone tech savvy they might know all the ins and outs and pros and cons etc for each but for me, my phone just works normally wherever I am, apart from Turf MoorClaretDiver wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:33 pm5G will be useless anyway unless you are in a 5G area....also, is your handset 5G ready?

Good luck. There's also an offer which includes 50gb of data for £15 a month. Great deal but 15gb may be more than enough for you anyway.mill hill claret wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 11:24 pmGone with voxi tonight £10 a month for 15gb of data ..see how it goes..not tied to a contract either

Re: 3 mobile
As a few people have said above, it's not really the network you're on at the Turf as most will have decent signal there. It's the amount of phones trying to access the cell simultaneously that causes it to go slow for everyone. The best solution (for us) would be for the club to put some wireless access points in.

I certainly noticed a difference between EE and Vodafone networks on the Turf.Claret3495 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:18 pmAs a few people have said above, it's not really the network you're on at the Turf as most will have decent signal there. Your absolutely spot on taio...used my new voxi sim card today on the turf ..tried it out numerous times during the game and at half time ..it loaded up every time with ease ..also had 4 bars all the time ...100% better than EE on today's showing

Re: 3 mobile
Again my voxi network was brilliant before and at half time at the Turf yesterday...whereas my friend on EE was really struggling to get any coverage at all ..so it seems the network does matter and it isn't just the case of everyone trying to get online all at once
Re: 3 mobile
These mobile things have taken over peoples lives, leave them at home or in the car and concentrate on the football, and when it’s half time engage in conversation with the people around you. We managed very well back in the good old days with out these
devices. I like using the IPad though.

Re: 3 mobile
Having accessible wi-if at the ground was one of the questions on the fans survey. It wouldn’t surprise me if we do look at this in the not too distant future.
I’d happily pay a subscription or perhaps an additional charge on top of the season ticket for this - we’re there to watch the football but I do like to check scores etc. during the game.

Re: 3 mobile
The actual phone you are using can make a difference as well, 2 people could be using a Samsung & a xiaomi at the same time both using a o2 sim as a eg & the experiences will be different, some phones are just better than others at picking signals up.mill hill claret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 12:14 pmAgain my voxi network was brilliant before and at half time at the Turf yesterday...whereas my friend on EE was really struggling to get any coverage at all ..so it seems the network does matter and it isn't just the case of everyone trying to get online all at once
