Pope 6 nothing he could do really
Lowton 6
Tarks 8
Mee 7
Taylor 7
JBG 5 thought he was poor first half. Looked like he lacked sharpness but he was better after that.
Westwood 5 midfield was invisible first half
Brownhill 5 midfield was non existent first half
McNeil 7 was very good on the ball but surprisingly poor off it.
Cornet 8 fantastic goal and some good bits of play but he drifts in and out up front. I’m sure we’ll want him on the wing once he learns the system.
Wood 7 goal and was a menace to palace. 50 prem goals is a great record.

Vydra was good but he needs a run of games to get confidence in front of goal and that showed. Shame.

Tarkowski MOM? He was marking Benteke for their first and let him get a shot away, ambling back for the second and only sprinting when it was too late and was beaten in the air for the knock down for their third.

When you let in 3 goals, and allow various other opportunities, no defender should be getting high marks

Pope 6 - thought he could have come for the cross for their first, albeit I know the conditions weren't great it was a very slow looping cross. Otherwise did everything that was asked of him.
Lowton 6 - thought he did pretty well against Zaha and played a couple of nice passes.
Tarkowski 6 - two assists but hard to mark higher given some of our defending in the first half.
Mee 6 - he and Taylor should have cut Bentekes second put between them.
Taylor 6 - found it really tough at times I the first half and as above should have done better with Bentekes second but much better second half.
Gudmundson 6 - worked hard and a nice cross for Cornet's goal.
Brownhill 5 - really struggled to get a foothold in the game first half but stuck at it, although his use of the ball was poor at times.
Westwood 7 - not a great first half but upped his level in the second and some excellent distribution.
McNeil 7* - thought he was a constant outlet and put in some excellent crosses.
Cornet 7 - an extra point for the goal, his positioning wasn't fantastic at times but he always looks a threat. Needs different stuff when the surface gets wet though!
Wood 7 - lead the line well generally and a clever header for the goal. Can't help but feel he should have been stronger rather than going down, albeit I think Anderson should have been sent off, there was enough contact. Sloppy at times with the ball also.

Vydra and Jay both did fairly well when they came on also.

The first half was a real strange one. For the first 10 minutes we couldn't get the ball at all and were reporting to long aimless balls. Their goal gave us a wake up call of sorts but some of our defending was as bad as I can remember. Thankfully the second half was much more like it and we limited Palace to very little. Thought we were the better side second half and we really could have done with Vydra burying his chance.

Mad rollercoaster of a game. We looked vulnerable every time Palace attacked but they were the same on our set pieces. Minimum 2 midfielders desperately needed in January because the 3 we have don’t make a decent one between them. Cornets goal though….wow! I just put my hands on my head because I didn’t believe what he’d just done! What a player we have

Strange but entertaining game where we could have won it near the end with the chance from Vydra. Defensively all over the place in the first half, but got much better during the second.

Agree with you totally about him taking free kicks ‘Terrible’ surely it should be Dwight or Max.

Thought Cornet was pretty quiet today, but what a strike

Also thought that was JBG best match for years

And it was a terrific game to watch

Agree though JBG had his best game for a while today. Unlucky with his first half flick that produced a good save.

Pope 6 - 2 deflections I think, everything else sound
Lowton 6 - Pretty solid.
Mee 7 - did well, good header for goal
Tarks 6 - not sure where he had gone for 2nd. Generally solid. Unlucky to be booked
Taylor 5 - no need to dive in against Gallagher for the 2nd, made it easy for him to square it to Benteke.
JBG 5 - ok, nothing special.
McNeil 6 - one or two good moments. Want to be seeing more of him demanding the ball off the centre mids.
Westwood 5 - some good set pieces. Too easily overrun in the middle though. Upgrade needed.
Brownhill 5 - see above minus set pieces. Runs around, doesn't really do anything though. Upgrade needed.
Wood 6 - good header for the goal. Not sure what happened with the pull back on him with Andersen, I think ref gave a free kick for him being offside.
Cornet 6 - never really involved, until that finish. Unbelievable, and he is our match winner. We need to work out how to get him on the ball more.

Jay 5 - not sure on long enough

Vydra 4 - not sure on long enough, but has to score that after he had done all the hard work. No excuses

I enjoyed that game, in a masochistic way, and my scores reflect what I saw - not what others believe that I should have seen.

Yes, we let in 3, and it could have been more, but the new Palace are no mugs. The number of interceptions in and around our box was phenomenal.

Well done Clarets.

All get 8's from me.....up against a full strength, confident side & came back twice.
Plus we should have won it at the end.

Pope 7
Lowton 7
Tarks 6
Mee 7
Taylor 7
Westwood 6
Brownhill 7
McNeil 6
JBG 7
Cornet 6 (and that's including +1 for the amazing strike!)
Wood 6 (and that's including +1 for a mis header that went in the net!)
Subs n/a BUT if they were Vydra would get 10 for getting into the right place taking and the ball down brilliantly and 0 for scuffing the finish which then allowed the goalie to save. Gutted!)

A strange game. Tbh I thought Palace looked the better side for long periods of the game, especially first half when even when we were leading I really didn't fancy us. At half time I'd have hooked the innefective Cornet as to me our "talisman" looked weary and wasn't in the game at all. (🙄) His goal was bloody brilliant, but that (imo) was his sole contribution to the game! We were better second half tbf, yet at 89 minutes I was actually happy with the point, despite us having several more than decent chances to score. BUT when Vydra was clean through and missed with the last kick of the game it left a sour taste as the Burnley we know really would have nicked the game, whether it was deserved or not!

My scores match all of the above. Great atmosphere today. Wish Vydra had buried that chance as we need wins. They are a good side and move the ball quickly. We were sluggish first half and struggled to keep hold of and retain the ball. CM still the weak area. Ref was poor and inconsistent. We were much better in the second half.

Pope 6 not a lot to do tbh
Lowton 6 steady if unspectacular
Tarkowski 7 held the line and organised
Mee 7 As above + 1 for goal
Taylor 8 excellent 2nd half and good delivery
JBG 5 bit of a struggle really
Westwood 6 steady and willing if slow
Brownhill 6 as above plenty of graft
Wood 6 we’ll taken goal but mediocre
Cornet 7+1 goal great goal needs the ball
McNeil 7 lively on the ball but off it …hmm

Rodriguez 6 not a lot of service
Vydra 5 awful miss

Decent game , decent Palace side , plenty of fight and should have taken 3 pts. We’re close to getting rooted in the bottom 3 and but for Cornet…

Best entertainment at the turf for quite a while. I'm pleased to say it reminded me of why I started watching football.

A fair result, they used the ball so much better than us, we were so hit and miss, and the quality of the crosses at times awful. Could easily have won it at the end though.

Pope - 7 - couple of decent saves in tricky conditions and I didnt think he could do much about the goals.

Lowton - 6 - tough customer in Zaha and he stuck to the task gamely even if he looked a tad vulnerable at times and lacked the finesse in possession hes shown recently.

Taylor - 5 - a threat going forward but defensively pretty ordinary all afternoon, particularly when Olise came on and inexplicably kept being shown onto his left foot.

Tarkowski - 7 - untidy in the first half but very solid in the second half.

Mee - 8 - held us together defensively in the first half and solid after the break too, and took his goal very well.

Westwood - 6 - the usual combination of good set plays, occasionally penetrating passing and some frenetic, rushed and untidy possession play.

Brownhill- 5 - game passed him by in the first half. Better in the second but lacked finesse and his lack of confidence in his ability was evident when he had a golden chance to win it.

JBG - 7 - lively enough without being especially penetrating.

McNeil- 7 - not at his best but did more than most to try and calm the game down and came more into the game after the break.

Cornet - 7 - that's as good a finish as I've seen on the Turf but that apart he wasnt really in the game and I really don't think hes comfortable playing as a centre forward spending long periods with his back to goal, or leading the press.

Wood - 7 - thought he took his goal very well and was a nuisance, and clearly should have drawn a red card in the second half.

Jay - 6 - linked nicely a couple of times but didn't really look like winning it.

Vydra - 6 - gave us a better option as centre forward than Cornet but for all the credit he deserves for getting into good positions, he has to score when he gets a chance that good.

A mad game and a cracking spectacle, with chaotic defending particularly in the first half (albeit caused partly by the weather) and enterprising attacking, in which we were probably lucky to be level at 3-3 but were probably the team most disappointed not to win it by the end.

There's goals and threat in this team, but in the first half the reality was we couldn't get to grips with Palace's 4-2-3-1 system and got caught too often between pressing and dropping off. We were better in the second but until Vydra came on at times we looked outnumbered because of Palace's physicality but also the fact we lacked a bit of finesse in midfield and Cornet, whilst brilliant in flashes, wasn't really in the game. Once again his goal came when he drifted to the flank and came onto the ball from there, and that's where he did his best work generally. I understand Dyche's logic for using him up front, but I continue to think that we'd be a better team, and by virtue of keeping the ball better a more resilient one, if we swapped him and McNeil round and used McNeil as a 10.

In the end it's a decent point, but it's also another home game against a team likely to finish in the bottom half. Those games are critical and the margin for error to 40 points is getting smaller with everyone we dont win.

I’ll pop mine in later, not having any player was a 4 though… Palace are a very good side, watch the ratings from any of the press tomorrow, none will score 4’s

Just being pedantic

One if the worst games I've seen for Lowton. Looked like he was ambling about for 3/4 of the match with Gudmondsson having to give some substantial cover.

Tough game to rate, but always interesting to see how others view the game. I thought McNeil and JBG were by far our best players today. Surprised to see our defenders scoring highly despite conceding three really sloppy goals.

A really chaotic and un-Burnley-like performance, but full marks for entertainment.

We absolutely must keep the ball better, though. It's getting ridiculous at times. Westwood cannot simply chuck the ball into an area every time he receives it. We are limited by the 442 but we have to find more composure because it's killing us and inviting pressure and counter attacks.
