Has Sean Found
Our jar of jaw strengthening lotion?
One defeat in seven and coming back twice to a Palace side who, a quick glance at their recent results and the scalps they've taken, will show, are on a decent run themselves.
Going into the next run of fixtures with renewed confidence. Happy days.

Re: Has Sean Found
We're a bit of an anomaly this year with results. Not getting beat, scoring loads but also only one win.
Norwich with two wins but are below us.
Does winning breed winning? Or are we on a good path regardless?

Re: Has Sean Found
If he can find two good midfielders in January, we will have a good team.

If he’s found the lotion, hopefully he’ll be rubbing a bit on the defenders and midfield. We’ve got to stop conceding such poor goals - there have been too many this season, which is very unlike us under Dyche.RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 5:56 pmOur jar of jaw strengthening lotion?

Re: Has Sean Found
You can question some aspects of our squad in terms of PL quality, however the one thing you can never question is their spirit and desire.
And this is illustrated by the fact we've came from behind at Southampton, Chelsea and again today to claim hard earned draws, equally it's annoying that we've surrendered the lead in 6 of our games when ahead, and dropped points when normally we're so good at closing out games from winning positions.
And yes I have to agree with DC we need to stop shipping soft goals, and this has become far too frequent in the past couple of seasons and needs correcting ASAP.
Overall the signs are much more encouraging than they appeared a few weeks ago, we just need to ensure we eradicate the mistakes at one end, and bury our chances at the other end when they present themselves.
I'm cautiously optimistic that we're slowly turning the corner, but bear in mind we are still in the bottom 3, and only have 1 win from 12 games, so there's still plenty of hard work ahead, fortunately this squad have shown that they have the strength of character to cope with a relegation fight, and that's why I have faith that we'll be OK come next May.

Re: Has Sean Found
Our ability to play just OK and even be second best, yet win the game, seems to have deserted us. Another game today when tbh, a draw was probably fair, but actually we could and should have won it!! I fear for us. We're not hopeless or rubbish, but we could well be the 18th best team in this extremely difficult division!

We need a stronger presence defensively in midfield. and we need to keep possession better.
4-5-1?
4-5-1?

a loss and a win is always better than 2 draws, we need to start winning games.

I look at it slightly differently tbhVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 8:26 pma loss and a win is always better than 2 draws, we need to start winning games.
We've now started coming back into games from being behind, something we were absolutely terrible at
That bodes really well I think, and we've scored 14 goals in 12 games (which is pretty good for us!)

I have always maintain that the secret of Premiership survival is not to lose. This is how Burnley have survived there for so long.

Re: Has Sean Found
for sure and I know exactly where you are coming from - but we need points, 2 good results against two for teams is nothing to be sniffed at, but a loss at Chelsea and a win today gives us more points. Can't knock them though, giving everythingLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 8:29 pmI look at it slightly differently tbh

Thats something that builds the right mentality
Re: Has Sean Found
I doubt we'll lose many between now and the end of the season.

Theres some good signs in some respects at the moment, but the balance of this team isnt quite right now and we're a bit vulnerable as a result.

What's happened to our ability to sit on leads and park the bus?claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:23 pmTheres some good signs in some respects at the moment, but the balance of this team isnt quite right now and we're a bit vulnerable as a result.

Re: Has Sean Found
We dont keep the ball well enough under pressure, and currently we dont press well enough across the front line.

Re: Has Sean Found
You'd hope a centre midfielder is at the top of Dyche's shopping list for January along with another strikerclaretspice wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:40 pmWe dont keep the ball well enough under pressure, and currently we dont press well enough across the front line.
Re: Has Sean Found
I agree with the brief synopsis but Rome wasn't built in a day, or rather we can't just pluck the best talent in one window. I see what Dyche is trying to do and it does leave us a bit more open but over the next couple of windows that will be addressed.claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:23 pmTheres some good signs in some respects at the moment, but the balance of this team isnt quite right now and we're a bit vulnerable as a result.
Ideally Cornet isn't a striker but he clearly knows where goal is. I can see a pattern of what Dyche wants but hasn't got the full jigsaw pieces yet.
