Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
I have no idea what the story was, I'm sat in a gym cafe and the telly has no sound on.
Anyone see it? What was the story?

Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
It was regarding the imposition of a football regulator. Alan didn’t seem so keen
Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
Heard part of an interview with him on 5Live earlier, too, which Livesey said would be played in its entirety later on but I don’t know if it’s been and gone by now.

Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
I heard the snippet.
Livesey said in the full interview he’d put it to Pace that he may feel differently when Burnley “inevitably” get relegated and also quizzed him on the financial structure of the BFC takeover… so I’d like to listen to his responses to those questions!

Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
Final question from Tony was: Some Burnley fans are concerned about the way you took over the club.
Pace reply: Absolutely, I absolutely take that on.
End of interview, so Pace didn't tackle that question.

Thanks for that claretburns, enjoyed listening to that.claretburns wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:35 pmFinal question from Tony was: Some Burnley fans are concerned about the way you took over the club.

Very pleased AP got around to challenging Livesey on the inevitability of relegation - or at least acknowledging it was his job to avoid that as far as possible.
His answer to the final question seemed cut short to me. I’m not sure if the interview really ended there or it was edited. Seemed a strange way to answer that question and not defend the structure some more. Almost like he was saying “yeah it was a bit dodgy, we accept that”

Also glad that AP called out that many EFL clubs are being poorly run. That’s absolutely correct.

Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
If that is his actual answer to the question of the morality of the way he took over Burnley FC, I think that speaks volumes.
If we stay up, it’s gravy and hopefully the start of a period of strong investment and improved infrastructure. If we go down, I shudder the thought of what happens.

It is inevitable that we will, one day, get relegated.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:44 pmThanks for that claretburns, enjoyed listening to that.

Has there been a satisfactory answer as to what happens if we get relegated?jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:54 pmIf that is his actual answer to the question of the morality of the way he took over Burnley FC, I think that speaks volumes.

Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
It’s quite ironic because if the regulator was in place then Pace would likely be knowhere near a football club

Has a proven track record AT a football club.
Has a proven track record in finance.
What more would you like. A sheikh?

He was forced out of football clubs due to poor financial performance.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 8:55 amIn what way?

He has taken out heavy debt to purchase the club (something the regulator will be looking into heavily).
I’m not saying anything, just merely highlighting there’s a good chance he wouldn’t be the owner if the regulator was in place
Re: Alan Pace on 6 o'Clock news
What an annoying voice he has. Every last word/syllable of a sentence pronounced with an inflexion upwards.
