Could hurt us next season, whatever division we're in.

Totally against it - could kill a lot of non-league clubs

Not just non-league clubs but future generations of lower league club fans. If the Premier League is allowed to be shown at 3pm then kids growing up are much more likely to get in the habit of just watching the top league and supporting a big club instead of going to the local game.

We're probably one of the clubs that would be least impacted as the football club still really is the heartbeat of the town but for a lot of other towns and city's there just wont be that pull if you can the Premier League on the TV

I'm not sure it helps anyone to be honest the 3pm blackout.

There will only be one live game at 3pm you would assume?

It might just allow 2 more sets of fans to watch their football on a Saturday instead of Sunday when train journeys are a nightmare.

It helps every club all the way down the pyramid

It might have done in the past but every game is available to stream in the Premier league and championship now.
It would help clubs like Padiham to put the live game on in the bar and increase their revenue when it gets really cold.

The EFL must be getting more funding for it to happen. Hopefully it goes all the way down the pyramid.

Tbf if you're dedicated enough to go and watch Colne or Padiham every home game are you going to give up because Man U or Liverpool are on TV?
I'm still against it btw, do we really need more televised footy? There's too much as it is.

Its more about the next generation who will never go enough to become that dedicated and will get used to Saturday afternoon football being something you watch on TV. It will also impact the fans who maybe go on 5-10 times a season maybe when they haven't much to do.

Average attendances for the top 4 leagues.

The 3pm blackout doesn't appear to be having that much of a positive effect on lower league attendances, they seemed to decline from the 60's.

It's a fair point about the younger generation. I sometimes go and watch Colne, I suppose if it was freezing cold and there was a live game on I'd be more likely to stay home or go to the pub instead.
But as I said further up I'm against it anyway, I think the amount of TV games is one of the main factors in our declining home and away support.

Good article about Serie A and its lower attendances, with several contributing factors, including no 3pm blackout.
