In terms of the Premier League funding the EFL it is no different to what Alan Pace said a couple of days ago.
If you give more money to EFL clubs they'll just spend it and giving them more money is not helping them live within their means and I completely agree (fully of the understanding that one day we will be an EFL club again).

Only thing he is wrong about is the independent regulator (only skimmed it so apologies if I've missed something really obvious)
We need one of those desperately

I don't understand the want to remove the parachute payments either, I think it's a pretty essential thing to help relegated clubs to gradually fall back into line with the rest of the Championship. I'm not sure how relegated clubs would fall back in line over 2-3 months after having their income slashed by 90%, income they've likely had for multiple years too.
10% tax on PL transfers too, what a joke of an idea.

that's not the point - Leeds were pleading poverty and said they would once again likely go into administration had they not got promoted, short memories.claretburns wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 6:25 pmIn terms of the Premier League funding the EFL it is no different to what Alan Pace said a couple of days ago.

Re: Leeds United's take on fan led review
Reading those programme notes it’s incredibly disrespectful to the PM and wider people. I’m all for having a pop at elected officials if they balls up but those in a position of responsibility have to show, well, some responsibility in their criticism.
Taking aside unrelated political matters, it seems to me this report is doing more or less what the fans want, i.e. an independent regulator, so we can’t hammer the govt for backing that. We can disagree, that’s our right, and his, but it can’t be abusive.
So if this broadside was targeted at me I’d just dig my heels in now and say if Leeds get disadvantaged by it, tough. Not very clever imho.

Compulsory relegation clauses would do away with the majority of the need for parachute payments tbhKRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 6:47 pmI don't understand the want to remove the parachute payments either, I think it's a pretty essential thing to help relegated clubs to gradually fall back into line with the rest of the Championship. Could probably reduce them down to just a single seasons worth.

Confess I have some (not complete) sympathy with some of Mr Kinnear's observations....particularly would like to quote "Leeds United don't have a God given right to be in the Premier League" Oh the irony...now now behave yourself Peter!
