Hope the buyout clause is high, and if there's any chance of Wood leaving we need to have a replacement lined up sharpish.ClaretMov wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 8:53 pmSky sports news Kaveh Solhekol has made some very interesting claims regarding Chris Wood’s future, following interest from Newcastle United.
He insists that Burnley have no interest in selling either him or star centre-back James Tarkowski to a relegation rival, but hints that a potential release clause in Wood’s contract could change things.
Sky Sports reporter claims that there ‘has been some suggestions’ that there is a buyout clause in the 30-year-old’s current deal; meaning Burnley would be powerless to keeping him if we activated it and the player himself was keen to sign.
If Wood is going, then get it sorted quickly, and then we can plan for any incomings, the worst outcome for us is he exits right at the end of the window, and we then struggle to get somebody in at the last minute.
