I know you’re anti Pace for whatever reason but he’s got a point. We would have done far better recruitment from that point on, it was a really great chance to attract good players with European football on offer.
Difficult to say? Would we have had the finances

That's fair enough but that was well known and I was kind of hoping if we bid knowung that then there was a fair chance we might turn his head. Makes me wonder if this was just bullshit smokescreen all along (or simply desperation)
No idea to be honest, but there are a hell of a lot of players with six months left on their contract on the continent, and its finding the one who would make a difference and isn't already set up for next season

Its a challenge, but we do know that we are trying to get players in

Course, we have to get at least two in I think somehow to give us a chance

Based off the 27m they spent in the last window I’d say so yes.

He can hit a free kick by the looks of it Lauriente. One absolutely ridiculous one from miles out . Pacey and a good age but what’s he like , probably never know unless we bring him to the Turf .

Azmoun is highly unlikely given who he has been linked with but IF it’s true that we’ve made a formal bid then you’d assume that we’ve made contact with his agent to find out his willingness to join.
This aged terribly

Sorry rv vydra in fairness hasn't really been given a fair chance. Dyche still want the large forward. Ie long ball frustrating football .no offence to your opinion

Yeah that’s more or less my point. A signing for decent money that Dyche didn’t seemingly want and hence didn’t play him.

Still think we are missing a massive trick electing to rule out loans. Just watching Brojan of Saints on loan from Chelsea-he is a sensational young striker. Just what we needed. He is one of many playing on loan in the PL

9 days left to sign our saviour(s) or we go with what we have and Sean Dyche wil tell us that the squad has a strong mentality !

Lauriente looks good. He’s clearly a good technical player as shown by his free kicks and he looks pretty quick and direct.

I always think that is a good starting point for a winger to be able to step up to premier league level, if they are quick as well as being technically good, they have all the attributes required to succeed. Much like Cornet, who I knew was quick, but has suprised me with his touch and ability on both feet.

Interesting situation for Zenit. Hold a player who has signed a contract elsewhere. Will he want to play for them & how will he perform? Would they take a loan fee with a decent wedge to both player & club if his goals kept us up??

New owners, same old story. We end up discussing someone who we may or may not have bid for, but, even if we had, never stood a cat in hell’s chance of signing

I should imagine he will go with there blessing . He's been a very good player for them so will run his contract down and go on a free which he has every right to do .

I’d have thought where he’s best, CAM, behind the striker. Would mean playing 1 striker and him behind.

I get he is a CAM but if we go 4-5-1 then do we play Jay up top? If so how do you fit Cornet and McNeil in?

If you play Cornet up top then we lose the long outball option and hold up play which is surely a big requirement of playing a 4-5-1.

Spending money on fees concerns me due to the odds now stacked against us for relegation. I’d far prefer GOOD loans.

Ramsey on loan for the season would be, frankly, unbelievable business. That’s about as good a signing as I think I’d ever expect come in to Burnley. I would be stunned if he was willing to come, but if he has no other options this is a great shop window opportunity for him till the summer?

I’d put good money on Newcastle now calling Juventus though as a result of this newspaper article.

Ramsey is a completely different class

But his injuries could be a concern

Tarks?

If Newcastle offer silly money, then we'd be mad to turn it down

But it would mean we'd have to get bodies in nine days, and who knows if we can do that?

I’d put good money on Newcastle now calling Juventus though as a result of this newspaper article.
Leverkusen seemed to move quickly after the reports we were in for Azmoun. Makes you wonder if we’re just used by agents/media to get other deals over the line.

Haway man, they have been after him for ages and have been negotiating with him and his representatives

And we won't be the only club disappointed

That is always going to be the case with players with six months left on their contract who are in demand
