That’s what agents do
“Bid for my player, he’d love to join you”

“Burnley have bid, it’s now or never - give in to our demands. Thanks”

“Sorry Alan, he’s joining Leverkusen”

Lauriente, 23 years old. Ideal if we can get him.

I know nothing about him, but Gudmundsson has been shocking this season (and last…mostly). We could definitely do with a new right winger. Looks rapid on good old YouTube, and we are useless at free kicks bar Maxwel, so that could be a plus for us.

I hope there’s a possibility of loan with obligation to buy upon safety (feel I need to caveat every opinion I give on signings with that to maintain my opinion!).

Two mentions in tomorrows Sun.
As mentioned above loan of Ramsey from Juve. Also says we are open to offers for Tarks and Newcastle want him.

Spending money on fees concerns me due to the odds now stacked against us for relegation. I’d far prefer GOOD loans.

Ramsey on loan for the season would be, frankly, unbelievable business. That’s about as good a signing as I think I’d ever expect come in to Burnley. I would be stunned if he was willing to come, but if he has no other options this is a great shop window opportunity for him till the summer?

I’d put good money on Newcastle now calling Juventus though as a result of this newspaper article.
Their value doesn’t suddenly disappear - they could still be sold on if we were relegated (potentially for more than we paid).

Ramsey does sound to be a good option, could we get him though and could we get half a season out of him without injury?

Maybe Hennessey and Roberts have cooked him an omelette.

Anyone who wouldn't want Ramsey over our current midfielders must be on something. He'd be an absolute class above.

Perhaps Hennessey and Roberts can play a part in attracting Ramsey, particularly Hennessey will have played with him throughout his whole Wales career.

Not sure if Dyche will do this but a 4-4–1-1 with Ramsey in CAM, Cornet right/McNeil left and a new striker would be quite nice. If possible a new central midfielder too but there don’t seem to be many links for that.

Yep. Which club wants to be the one the one that is responsible for another episode like that?

I can’t believe there aren’t serious concerns about his health. If there weren’t, he wouldn’t be signing for Brentford.

If Ramsey is fit then he’d be an unbelievable signing. As others have said, Hennessey, Roberts and maybe Agent Vokes could help make his mind up.

It’s all well and good selling Tarks but do we have enough time to replace him (not having Kevin Long as our back up again surely)?

Tarky is our best centre half but I really like the look of Collins. Tough one but if it’s silly money it could be worth the risk.

I’d argue he’s the reason we have stayed up for so long

Tarks has been one of our top defenders
We should have had Joe Worrall or Nat Phillips signed up 3 weeks ago then selling Tarks would have been a sensible idea,
Again our legendary faffing during transfer window time had left us dealing with Last minute solutions.

I think the next centre half we bring in will be Ben Mee’s replacement. Collins is surely going to be starting next season. He’s been very unlucky to be dropped every time he’s stepped in this season.

Let's get some semblance of reality back into this topic

We are bottom of the league, one win all season and playing dire football

We can put in bids for whoever we want - why not bid for Messi ?

The fact remains that despite numerous rumours (and that is all they are) nobody, as yet, seems to fancy coming to play for BFC and Sean

If we can't get the likes of Andy Carroll to come to us what chance with any others

Word is that the Saudi's have offered Carroll a two year deal - not to sign for us and just stay at home ;)

If we can't get in some loans in the next few days it's going to be a struggle to even get off the bottom

Given Carroll’s allegiance to Newcastle I don’t think he’d want to be seen as someone who potentially relegated them

Also re Carroll he scored 1 goal in a struggling Championship team and his erratic disciplinary record makes poor reading.

Some may argue Tarkowski has been a fantastic servant to the club and a superb defender. Without doubt he has played a major part in our success and will rightly be remembered as a great player for us.However with my own eyes I have seen several mistakes this season that have cost us goals and games. He is certainly not the only one of our 'better' players performing at a level below what we have become accustomed to and as such part of the reason we are where we are.Maybe he,like Chris Wood is in his own comfort zone so unless he can up his game again I would quite happily see him depart now.

I absolutely agree with this. I thought he’d been medically advised on more than one occasion, not to play professionally again.

This is some window-we are 75% through it, desperate for bodies and the best we have in terms of news is that Tarkowski might leave and we are interested in taking Ramsey on loan. Bring back Stan & Cotts on a consultancy basis, because what we have is not working

I’d imagine agents tell their players to hang on as long as possible to see what offers come in. Transfers are a two way process. You can’t just blame the club.

Have you considered these few factors before?

1. We don’t have the finances to put in large bids that get accepted so quickly (we aren’t going to overpay for a Chris wood at £25m just to trigger a release clause for example)
2. It’s January, clubs don’t want to lose players, if they do then they want replacements in themselves
3. Even if we do get bids accepted, we probably aren’t players first choice so they might leave it until late on themselves to see what other options there are.

It seems pretty obvious, does it not?

What i dont understand is why Burnley leave it until last minute of every transfer window to bring players in.
Clubs and agents holding out for bigger offers/wages.

Unless you put a big enough offer down that convinces those selling that it’s not going to be beaten, or is massively over the asking price, then that player isn’t going anywhere for the time being.

It’s all one big game, and we’ll be well known across Europe for not splashing the cash, because ultimately, we don’t have a rich benefactor to underwrite losses.

We have to be prudent and bide our time.

Surely after x amount of transfer windows, we’ve all got the gist by now?

Can you share then please, because I’m not privy to how the club do business.

 Wow, uptheclarets player of the year, 3 years in a row, but the fans want rid now after 2 poor games! If that’s not fickle I don’t know what is.
I’d argue he’s the reason we have stayed up for so long
He's the reason we're going down if we sell him or not.
