Just seen that Callum Chambers has signed for Aston Villa.
It’s my observation that Villa seem to very good at either keeping the deals under wraps and / or completing them quickly.
I seem to remember the Buendia signing being done quickly, Ings joined under the radar, and the Cortiniho deal was completed within a few days after some speculation.

Have we just delayed announcing this until a bigger deal can be broadcast

Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne seems a decent back 4 to me, although I’m not a Mings fan people in the game rate him. Chambers is certainly not good enough for their MF.
Gerrard not known for playing 3 at the back either.

The good thing about both these possible signings is that they come from smaller nations than ours and play at stadiums with only 30,000 capacity so it isn’t a particular step down. When we factor in the training facilities we have and the ability to live in Manchester it can be an appealing lifestyle. Let’s be honest Wolfsberg is one big car factory and the only appealing thing about Zagreb is the weather.
The one worry I have is that DZ have a 85 year old owner who has been there over 50 years so upsetting the fans is likely to be something he will be keen to avoid.

Not sure how it all works now but you would assume a club will have done its homework on the work permit prior to going through the process of trying to bring in the player.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:43 amIf it is just down to work permits surely things are at a very advanced stage, almost every thing completed? There was a European agent on SSN earlier this week and he said it’s delaying some of these deals by 48 to 72 hours.

Been a long day here and only just been able to get to read the news articles first then come here to read from where I left off last night. 8 pages catch up here and countless news articles on the state of play, typical busiest day yet but very good reading and things certainly appear to be going in the right direction, just need the article from AP saying welcome!
Could it really be "exciting times" after all this time?

Two things that Wout Weghorst and Mislav Oršić share. 1. They clearly know where the net is. 2. Some fans will have a hard time spelling their names.
As for pronouncing them I only really know the Dutch is pronounced Vout Veghorsht. Croatian seems to be Mislav Ochich.
I'm very excited over these two if we can pull it off. In Oršić we may finally have someone good at free kicks again.

I don't know if I've missed something or I'm being a bit slow but how come we are linked with most of our targets from abroad, what's changed, have we new scouts. I know the better bargains are from out of England with fee's and wages compared to players even in the championship and I'm 100 percent not complaining its fantastic, but it's not what we've done In all the year's we've played in the premier league, how are we finding these player's like Cornet now, long may it continue.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Read today online the Weghorst deal is 12 million and Orsic is 7, that leaves us with around 6 million left over from the Chris Wood deal, if these player's turn out to show half the ability they've shown in various YouTube clips then this is fantastic business done by all at Burnley football club
