Re: Tonight's footy
Tough to call. Expect Brentford to struggle second half of the season, Watford have to be in our sights. Draw, Brentford win at a push.

Watford 1-0, Dennis.
Watford have goals coming out of their ass.

Brentford might well survive this season, but there is no chance they will next year.

Re: Tonight's footy
Not good news at all. Need an equaliser now.
Re: Tonight's footy
They're missing half of their first 11 including their main central defender, goalkeeper and striker. Plus their best midfielder from last season hasn't played at all yet this year. It's like us without Tarkowski, Wood, Pope, Brownhill.

Who are the missing core players and when are they due back?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 8:34 pmWhen there best players come back they will pull away.
Missing 3/4 of the core players at the moment.
Struggling to see who we are going to finish above at the moment.
Re: Tonight's footy
Still a very good player and £80k a week is nothing compared to what we could've made with him in the side. £80k a week to win £140m? seems like a good investment to me.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 8:39 pm32 yrs old and believed to be on £80k a week, we need someone younger and on less money.
Re: Tonight's footy
Toney is only missing tonight through illness. Raya (keeper) out perhaps all season.
Re: Tonight's footy
Raya - starting goalkeeper
Pinnock - starting CB
Ajer - starting CB
Canos - starting RWB
Toney - main striker
and then Josh Da Silva hasn't played all season but was arguably their 2nd best player last season.
Re: Tonight's footy
Yeah, incredible how they’ve somehow managed to build a better and bigger squad than we have while being in the Championship.

Re: Tonight's footy
We've done it without him so far, so he wouldn't add much.
For us to cough up £80k a week, I'd be expecting someone like a younger version of Defour, or someone with the same drive etc as Mason Mount.
We complain about a lack of guile and goals from Central midfield and Sissoko wouldn't give us the goals we need that's for sure.
Looking at his stats, he's provided 25 assists during his time in England, has a poor shot accuracy rate and poor cross accuracy
Amusingly his long balls appear to be quite good, so maybe he would be suitable for us

Imagine if we were missing:
Pope
Tarks
Mee
McNeil
Wood
Brentford will pull away when there best players come back. Similar to Leeds with Phillips and Bamford.

Re: Tonight's footy
They have a very good system of buying to sell, it's done well for them over the years, but they've also incurred debts and a wage bill that was running at 125% of income in the season before Covid, according to the last accounts.
I'm aware that they've had the new stadium built etc
They made £95 million on player sales over the last 5 years, a staggering amount of money, but there's no guarantee that model will still work in the PL, so if they stay up for an extended period it will be interesting to see what they do.

Re: Tonight's footy
Yeah they'll be fine, no doubt, not many sides can go toe to toe with Liverpool and draw 3-3. Good team when they've got their key players in.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 8:50 pmImagine if we were missing:

I'd have hoped to catch Watford but Ranieri seems to be working his magic and they've got goals come out of their ears. Ranieri is either brilliant or useless, never in between. Good game this played at a high tempo, staggering what youth, pace and energy does.

Re: Tonight's footy
The one thing that has stood out for me tonight is there quality on the ball. I would be very surprised if Watford go down this season they look miles better than the bottom threeKRBFC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 9:02 pmYeah they'll be fine, no doubt, not many sides can go toe to toe with Liverpool and draw 3-3. Re: Tonight's footy
Saw them at Leicester a few weeks ago. Their front three are a threat to any side-very direct and aggressive. But for the Watford keeper (Ben Foster is injured) they would have beaten LeicesterConroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 9:19 pmThe pace of this Watford forward line is rather frightening.

Re: Tonight's footy
Very well deserved. I truly believe that we can be better than these two teams, come the end of the season.

Actually it's a good result for Brentford, not us we weren't playing.
Re: Tonight's footy
Phew. Puts Brentford out of sight (for the moment at least) but keeps Watford in the mire. Hopefully that will hurt them psychologically.
