Every games a must win until we extract ourselves from the brown dollop we are in, no games any different.

Certainly a must not lose. I think we'll win it.

I think we are just about past “mustn’t lose” now. If we were playing Southampton or Everton, I could understand mustn’t lose, but not against a relegation battle rival. If we don’t pick points off these teams, we are gone simple as that.

So yeah, it’s a must win. Otherwise, yesterday’s battling performance was just a waste of time and effort. Three points v Watford only keeps us in touch with the poorest teams in the league, and we have to be beating them if we’ve any chance of survival.

Technically and mathematically it isn't and we could lose it and still stay up come May, but realistically if we did lose it, the hammer blow to the belief and confidence both on and off pitch is likely to be terminal, especially following on from handing Newcastle a much needed lifeline last week. We're in the poo and still really battling hard despite lacking the quality of many other teams (see yesterday!), but losing to Watford would give them an amazing boost and would probably be something we'd never recover from.

A win will certainly help the turkey go down on Christmas Day.

Southampton and Watford are both on poor form, these are the teams we need to be looking to leapfrog. A win against Watford and we maintain our mid-table form, a defeat and we're 5 points a drift and we've 4 points from the last 6 which puts us in the bottom two of the form table as well.

If we want to survive we have to be able to get results against the teams at the bottom at home when they are on a bad run. That's exactly where Watford are. It's where Newcastle were and we didn't deliver. We can't keep not taking our chances when golden opportunities arise.

What happens if we don't win a must win game?
I suppose that means the next game is a must win? Or not. I am among those who believe a must win game is defined by the fact that it is a ‘must win’ game. By that I mean a game that, if you don’t win it you get relegated. Otherwise a game is a ‘preferred’ win. Which of course they are all technically such games. So therefore Watford is not a must win game because if we lose we won’t get relegated. It may eventually lead to us being relegated but then so would defeats to Liverpool, City or Arsenal.

Don’t you just love semantics? And let’s face it, it’s wrong to be anti-semantic. 😊

Yep Watford are in a rut aren't they, since hammering Man U 4-1, and getting Ole the bullet they've lost 4 on the spin, and shipped plenty of goals in those defeats as well.

It's funny how quick things can change, when Watford were heading for all 3 points at Brentford on Friday, they were also on the verge of opening up a 6 point gap to the bottom 3, then those 2 late goals for the Bees and our battling point against the Hammers, and the gap is only 2, with us having the hope of overtaking them on Wednesday.

It’s a definite must win. A draw is simply not enough. Biggest game of the season with probably the lowest attendance.

I fancy us to win. At this early stage of the season, beating Watford and moving out of the relegation zone will be a big step forward. How many games have we played where we have been in the bottom 3? I thought it was 10? Just think that this will spur the Clarets on tomorrow. So I would say that in the context of our season so far and for team and fan morale more than anything, we need to be winning this game.

A game is not a must win until it actually becomes a must win.Fair way to go before we reach that game.

With the bottom 5 sorting themselves out a little now, Newcastle and Norwich look doomed. Leeds will probably get some more 95th minute penalties, leaving us and Watford to fight out for the final place in the Championship. This puts our games against Watford in the "must win" category.

Every game is a must win when you are deep in the sh1t & bearing in mind the opposition & league table positions, if you don’t consider it a must win some sort of a lobotomy experiment must have been carried out.

Just accept guys and girls, we are relegated.
But need some players who will fight to get us back up.
Most of this squad won’t.

So who would fight to get us promoted.
Pope
Lowton
Taylor
Joey
Brownhill
McNeil
Roberts
Westwood
Cornet
Collins
Long

We are done and dusted, the future is bleak.

It was and still is, its only the silly sausages that couldn't see it.

You know, the sort that think a side that's won 1 in 17, csn win 7 of the next 17.

They're best ignored, as football isn't their strong point.

It’s a must win game , because it’s the easiest game on paper out of the next 4
Watford are down in my view, and if we don’t finish above Norwich we deserve to go down
The Newcastle win today was a sickener ,but all is not lost
If we get a draw tomorrow , however unlikely , our morale will be on an upward curve

But all our players should be available at the right price.

No no no, Nixon did not write that article. Stop with the disinformation and check out the actual thread to see that the person who wrote it was a complete nobody.

As for the quote, it was that all our players are for sale at the right value, it wasn’t taken from Pace, Dyche or anyone - in fact, it was completely made up and meaningless.

If we beat Watford we'll be two points behind Norwich with three games in hand at the very least.

10 wins needed to stay up
We must be more savvy against the poorer sides.
Throwing points away from leading has cost us 12 points and no shows like Leeds and Newcastle away has to stop.
