UTC & Reporting on Burnley Women FC

I don't like or even understand why people would post images of their dogs , some dressed in ridiculous fashion.(the dogs as well) but that thread has been allowed to stay on here.
I'd imagine a women's football match/news review would be a darn sight more relevant if anyone were have a go at covering it.

some people just feel so entitled. They think they deserve to come on here and see only what they want to see. If they see something they don't like it's being forced down them! They forget they have the choice to not open and read it but still do and then get mad as if it's the author's fault.

If CT who runs the board doesn't want it then fair enough but for those who don't want to see things then they'll be just as many who do, and who should have the choice.

Hi CT, I guess there's stuff I'm not aware of. I didn't see the OP as having a go at you, or anyone on the mb. Thanks for your "fair enough."

A lot of stress around at the moment. We've all missed the Watford and Villa games, especially the chance to see the club move up the league. And, then there's all this non-footballing stuff messing with what we all want to do. I can understand why some express a little of their stress by posting on a mb.

We've got a great community here on UptheClarets and the BeeHoleEnd. That's down to you. Thanks for setting it up and running it all these years.

If you look at the youth reports they aren't exactly like his Burnley ones which have much more detail (no criticism intended) so I don't think anyone is expecting 1000 word reports!

If women's football was more developed and was genuinely competitive I would feel differently about it.
I have watched a couple of England games and it really isn't very good.
I feel it's being fast-tracked on TV, probably needs a few generations before it is watchable as a sporting event.

CT you work very hard and travel to a lot of games , be that under 23’s under 18’s and the first team. If someone wants to do do articles and go to games to watch the women’s team. I think you would publish the articles.
It’s not your job to try to sort it.

But someone has to go, CT is a volunteer not a paid employee like those who work for BFC. Like I said, you can volunteer for the job if you like.

Reports on matches you don’t attend ? Do you work for The Sun ?

I have a friend who's a sports reporter. Used to see his byline in one or other of the "big papers" over a number of years. Growth of on-line and social media and the loss of advertising revenue for the print media has resulted in fewer jobs for experienced journalists in last few years. I used to see him heading into work on a Saturday lunchtime - writing match reports for one or other of the big electronic media firms. I'm sure lots of the reports we all read are written by a journalist who didn't attend the game.

I'd go back and read your opening post on this thread when you were offering to do nothing, just being critical of this site for not covering Burnley Women. It doesn't and won't because I have no interest. I'm sure you can find somewhere that does. Try Tik Tok.
