Not really followed the financial mess that is Derby County but have just seen that one of the potential buyers, Chris Kirchner, has withdrawn his bid.
He says: ""But a £38m wage bill on a company grossing £33m to £35m isn’t good business. And that doesn’t count transfer fees and loan deals."
I know the club has, ehm, struggled to publish its accounts so I'm not sure just when these figures were up to. But one presumes they are the latest ones he saw during due diligence.
Wages have been reduced since 2017/18 (that's the good news ) but still.
"In their 2017-18 accounts, the Rams had a revenue of £29.1m, but spent £46.8m on wages alone, which is 161 percent of their incomings, according to the findings."
Frightening.

Re: Meanwhile, in Derby
How are they at £38 million wage bill now?
Unless Rooney is taking home £25 million of it.

Wonder what Brian Clough would have to say about it.
