1st PL manager sacked in 2022

Post by tiger76 » Sat Dec 25, 2021 3:43 pm

Eddie Howe is top of my list for the chop, somehow Newcastle have actually became worse under his stewardship.

Benitez must also be under extreme pressure to start getting results soon.

Ranieri just because it's Watford.

Dark horse in this race is Bielsa, especially as there have been reports Raphinha is off in January to Bayern for £42 million.

Newcastle fans reckon they’ve been playing a lot better since he came in. Plus he got them the first win of the season. Last few fixtures been tough.

I can’t see Howe being booted. His agent would/should have negotiated clauses that guarantee him a decent spell in charge and some funds to spend, particularly given the early fixtures. I’m personally surprised they’re going to give him the early funds though.

Rafa next for me.

Bob Lord sacked (I think) Jimmy Adamson after several weeks of the Pools Panel not giving us a win.

He sacked Adamson after the cup defeat at Blackpool but the sacking wasn’t football related. But we hadn’t had any games called off to need the pools panel.

Benitez, Bielsa, Hasenhüttl, Ranieri & Howe are the favourites

If it weren't for us, I think he'd be gone by now.

I’m sure one of the managers fell victim to the pools panel around that time… there again it was told me at one of the early stadium tours so there is no guarantee as to how much was ‘nice stories’ and how much reality.

If you look at the fixtures we hadn’t had a game called off that season. As I posted, the sacking was nothing to do with football.

My other half family are Newcastle fans and they are just glad Ashley has gone as well as Bruce.....they reckon they are playing better but to be honest they have also admitted that's because, in their heads, nothing could have been worse lol!

Eddie Howe needs to stay at Newcastle. Gives us a better chance of staying up.

I love watching Howe on the touch line. He has a pained expression that looks like he’s thinking “Christ I’m taking these lot down and their human rights record it awful… they’ll see me off”.

I'll go with Moyes. I think they will fall apart and I'm not convinced the fans wanted him there in the first place.

It's an outside shot. They've lost four of their last five games in all competitions. They're without Rice for tonight's game at Watford, too.

Benitez would have already have been sacked, if they hadn't chickened out of playing us. We would have beat them and they know it.

He might not even make it until 2022 at this rate. After all this is Watford we're talking about.

No chance-the owners realise they would struggle to improve on Moyes

It's ageing well by the game. :D

Benitez can't be far off at this rate. It's only half time, so me giving this prediction will mean a 3-2 win for Everton. It's paradoxical since I've just made two predictions there. So I'll go for a draw. Urgh... I'm lost in my own mind.

Unfortunately it won’t be Dyche even though it should be. He’s ran his race as a premier league manager now.

Ranieri
Benitez
Dyche (though the 4 year contract he signed probably means he'll be safe for now anyway, whether he should be is another question.
