Stephens picked out more forward passes in his cameo appearance than Dwight did all game.

Dyche mantra
Maximum effort is the minimum requirement
McNeil is not passing that test

Re: McNeil
We played McNeil on the right to accommodate JBG. Instead of taking the opportunity JBG was pretty poor- he had plenty of opportunities to cross with his left but failed each time, and he squandered a chamce (as he has most of the season). Easy to criticise McNeil for one of their goals, but at other times he looked very threatening, and our only outfield player with real class. There are not many wingers in the PL who have tracked back as much as him this season. We need to keep the partnership between him and Taylor going and find a new solution to right wing (we have had four years to sort it out) . Taylor had an off night as he lost McNeil as his partner
Re: McNeil
The problem with playing Mcneil on the left is he has been found out and defenders will show him the inside knowing he wont take it as he 1 footed. However playing him in the centre as a 10 or AM would give him more space to create, especially with Cornet and Taylor on the left.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 10:00 amWe played McNeil on the right to accommodate JBG. Re: McNeil
LFD - Left Footed Dwight
Re: McNeil
Probably the same as the last half a dozen weeks
Severely 1 footed
Refuses to use his right foot for the basic skills of a 25 yard pass
Looks like a mard arse teenager without the ball
Can't beat a man
Poor at crossing
Doesn't assist
Can't shoot/score
But that's only a guess, he might have actually had an 8 aka "a very good game"

Re: McNeil
If Dwight has a poor game it should be nil nil.
We keep conceding goals for fun. Much bigger problems in the team.

Possibly but don't recall him creating anything today.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:06 amThe problem with playing Mcneil on the left is he has been found out and defenders will show him the inside knowing he wont take it as he 1 footed. Re: McNeil
Agreed, not sure where he is at the moment, but that could be said for a lot of them.

Re: McNeil
Give the lad some slack, he's been providing the creative element of our game since he broke into the team. This obsession with him being one footed is hilarious, nobody says anything about Ashley Westwood who I have never seen use his left foot. Yes, he is struggling at the moment but so is everybody else.

Re: McNeil
How does this sit with him being one of our laziest players? He is one of the highest tackling players in the Premier League this season... (Maybe that is the problem, he is spending far too much time deep?)
