Our Game Plan.

Post by k90bfc » Sun Jan 02, 2022 7:43 pm

Why Oh Why,does Sean keep sending Our team out to chase the game from the off, negative approach is going to send us down, attacking line up from the start, put more faith in the forwards,to much expected from the defence they are bound to crack being under pressure from kick off, things need to change Sean,You are to stubborn for your own good, and Ours!

He doesn’t send them out to chase a game from the start

I'm not even sure what our game plan is these days, we used to sit deep and park the bus, try nick something from a set piece and hold on for our life. There was an attacking pattern to our game, Mcneil/Taylor combination, Lowton early cross and Westwood chip into the channel. The set pieces from deep with the chip into the box.

Today we were all over the place, 1 pass and our midfield is completely out of the game. Wide open through the middle of the pitch. Taylor doing all the attacking and the only one crossing the ball. Mcneil on the right, I don't think JBG or Mcneil crossed a ball all afternoon.

What was our game plan today? Throw maxwel on second half and hope something happens. Even dyche said in his interview that the players who have kept us up before need to do what they have done before to keep us up again.

There isn’t one.

No plan B other than a like for like sub and plan A isn’t obvious to anyone.

No defined style, no attacking plan, no chances created.

Pretty grim.

We created more chances vs Manchester United than we did against Leeds United. Simply because last Thursday it were two very lazy poor teams in possession but one had that much more finesse in the final third,

Today our opposition worked a hell of a lot harder than us, outworking and out ran us in every department.

The game plan is the same for every opposition but we will have more success against some teams than others.

Whoever came up with the innovation of a short corner early on when we had them under some pressure and with all our big men up set the trend for the confusion that reigned for the rest of the day.

Nowadays we look at our most vulnerable when we actually have a corner ourselves.
We don't keep the ball alive in the opposition box anymore and regularly get hit on the break with pace.
It's almost not worth getting a corner  which is just a crazy thought 🤔

Sean Dyche is hampered by not having top players outside the defence and Cornet and possibly McNeil. And if the defeonce has an off day, which its doing more frequently, then its defeat. But chase the game???

Yesterdays performance was just sloppy. We kept giving the ball away not closing down, we were dreadful and totally un Dyches Burnley.

Lowton, Mee, Tarkowski, Cork all very poor and cost us goals. Dyche also had a stinker by sticking with his 442 when he should have changed to a 433 in the last 20, with Cornet staying up top

In the words of an ex manager to much plum duff

I seem to recall similar performances against Everton (Home Boxing Day) and Villa (Home New Years Day) in recent years. Perhaps the players indulge in too much festive juice at this time of year?

Our game plan is exactly the same as it was 3 seasons ago when Barnes and Wood were firing.
We don't have Barnes to rough their defence up and our midfield has got 3 years older & slower.
Personnel have changed but Dyche keeps it exactly the same.

Setting up for a draw from the off doesn’t help matters when your opposition outworks and outruns you.

Oh, excellent use of the word blancmange by the way, I’d like to see it used more often.

It is odd that when we bring players up top like Vydra, Cornet or even Lennon, we still persist going long, those players are not going to win the aerial battles against the CB of almost any Prem team, but we never seem to adapt it to suit the personnel on the field.

If we have no idea what our game plan is, imagine how hard it must be for the opposition to work us out.
