The coaching staff need to look at shoring up the defence at the moment. The two CB's look punch drunk. No wonder under constant pressure. Mind, one if not both have their minds elsewehere maybe.

Yes I get that but I still think our biggest problem is midfield and protecting the CBs, Westwood and Cork are neither quick enough or strong enough, get that area right and we’ve also a chance to get the ball moving forward quicker.

Training should focus on -
1. Passing to players wearing the same colour shirt
2. What to do with throw-ins
3. Corners
4. Free kicks
5. How to deal with a short corner

Talk about fine margins is nonsense - get the above right and see a 25% improvement in performance

We used to cause all sorts of problems with our deep corners just beyond the far post with Mee and Tarky climbing to head back across goal.
Yet recently we have changed our corner routine, short one between McNeil and Westwood which has been hopeless, or low corners to the front post which again have caused no problems for defenders.

It's cup week so Kevin Long and Phil Bardsley will be key players in training this morning.

You are right and when I said shoring up defence I probably should have added a good holding midfielder required. However, the defence has performed much better than it is doing currently with the same personnel in midfield.

Passing. Passing the ball to another player. Perhaps more than a few times. Let’s go wild.

And 2 yard passes not 60 yard passes

Collins in defence with Tarkowski has CDM in front of the back line in a 4-1-3-2 or 4-1-4-1 formation For a change, can't be any worse

I've been bleating on for at least 2 years that we need to play (sometimes) either 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 to strengthen our weak midfield and help the defence . We should be trained to play different formations depending on the opposition , not just 4-4-2 all the time . Pieters might be ideal playing as a left sided holding midfielder , giving protection to Taylor and allowing McNeil more freedom .

Roberts - We can’t afford to have such an athletic and energetic right sided defending/attacking player on the bench. The situation is getting desperate. Might be a bit too much to expect him to play on the right side of central midfield ?? but I’d like to see him as right wing back in front of Lowton against Huddersfield.

Personally I’d play 3 in the middle, McNeil as the deepest when we have possession in out final 3rd. He’s calmer on the ball, can receive it from the CHs and play as a sort of quarter back. When the ball is higher up drop Weatwood/Cork deeper and allow McNeil to push a bit higher. Would command a lot of work off him. But having Tarkowski, Mee, Cork, Weatwood etc etc the ball in our back 3rd is pretty much pointless.

Dyche has intimated that we need to change
and get our 'mojo' back so presume he'll be concentrating on that in training.
I also think we need to try something different and the only options
would be to draft Collins and Roberts in. They should give us a little more
pace and I think he may need to try them both out against Huddersfield in the Cup.
I'd probably rest/drop Mee for that game and bring in Collins.
Mee is looking jaded as of late.
Try Roberts as a wing back.
Up front I believe he'll need to start Vydra either with Wood or Jayrod.
McNeil on the right or is left side?
Bring back Brownhill if fit and rest either Westwood or Cork.

And then hope Pace has decided to try and bring in one or two fresh faces and legs
be it in midfield and/or up front.
