Well that k goodness I didn't go. Missed the first 15 but 1st half we largely controlled 2nd half was a massive wtf!!!

Pope 5 - fell short when needed
Bardsley 6 * - thought he played pretty well
Tarkowski 3 - a legend in his own head sadly
Mee 4 - not much better
Lowton 5 - gets more leniency for being out of position
Lennon 5 - did ok first half and 2nd half tried but hamstrung
Westwood 4 - disappeared 2nd half
Stephens 6 - looked assured again but let down by those around him
Brownhill 5 - worked hard but not a left winger
Jayrod 5 - decent goal disappeared after the break
Wood 4 - really struggled today but we looked a lot worse without him

Cork 3 - awful

Pope 6
Bardsley 6
Tarks 5
Mee 5
Lowton 4
Stephens 6 can actually pass a football
Westwood 5
Cork 4 slow and looked old
Brownhill 3 there’s hope for any footballer out there
Jay 6 good goal
Wood 3 completely ineffective
Lennon 6 I think he was the only player I thought gave everything today

Pope 6 - one fantastic save but he has to be stronger for their second.
Bardsley 6 - some brilliant slide tackles in the first half but very slow in possession.
Tarkowski 5 - gave the ball away time and again and missed a sitter at the end.
Mee 6 - OK, not a great deal wrong.
Lowton 5 - not a left back and badly at fault for their first.
Lennon 5 - offered very little.
Stephens 5 - tired dramatically in the second half where he became increasingly sloppy.
Westwood 5 - very quiet once Wood went off and we lost our out ball. Some.very sloppy passing second half.
Brownhill 5 - not a left winger.
Jay 7* - looked very sharp first half and no surprise to see him make the breakthrough. Tough gigg second half with little support.
Wood 6 - moved their defence around and real nuisance value. A stark difference after he went off.

Cork 4 - asked to play 3 different positions but gave the ball away sloppily time and again, particularly for their second.
Dodgson- excellent cross which should have been rewarded. No idea why Mee didn't give him the ball at the end when he was far better positioned and looks like he can actually cross a football.

Whilst the first half wasn't fantastic by any stretch we were generally in control of the game and asked a lot of questions. Once Wood went off and we had no recognised replacement we really struggled as we just couldn't get up the pitch. Unfortunately we lack the technical ability to.keep the ball in tight spaces and gave the ball away time and time again leaving ourselves hugely exposed.
I've no doubt we would have won had Wood stayed on or we were able to replace him with the likes of Vydra or Barnes, but in the end Huddersfield deserved their win and were pretty comfortable.

Pope 5 great save to keep it level, question marks over their winner
Bardsley 5 ok enough a few sliding tackles to rescue him, age is getting the better of him now
Lowton 4 not great but wrong side, new partner at the side and infrint of him. Why we didn't keep the fluidity there at the right side with him and put Bardsley or a kid at LB I'll never know
Mee 5 ok but didn't see any fight or leadership
Tarkowski 3 sloppy passes, lost possession, lots of aimless hoofs, missed a sitter
Stephens 6 thought he was our best player first half, but tired, got leggy and we were over run 2nd half
Westwood 5
Brownhill 4 a very poor game, summed up by that shocking inswinging cross towards the end
Lennon 4
Rodriguez 6 took his goal well, 1 other decent effort, feeding of hoofs snd scraps
Wood 4 very poor again, milk turns quicker, looks petrified of using his body strength , and offside again looking right across the line
Cork 4 just looks old and knackered both inbody and mind to me.

Their 3rd choice rookie GK played 50 minutes today and didn't make a single save or catch under pressure.
We had 4 central midfielders on at one point and none looked capable of finding a pass snd moving off again to receive it.
We effected several partnerships moving Lowton to the opposite full back role, to fit in Bardsley, seemed very odd, just move him there..
We looked lost, tired 1 dimensional, and I'm afraid no one looked like they gave 2 sh1ts
The best cross of the day comes from the young lad who got 5 minutes at the end.

A note on the young lads, if they aren't getting on when we have 12 senior players , playing at home in the FA Cup to lower league opposition, than they never will.
We were 1 nil up and an ideal time to bring on some energy, pace and enthusiasm.

Another opposition pro active coach that makes a change of personnel and tactics, we fail to adapt and hey presto, game turns on its head

Seen it too many times in the last 12 months for it to be a coincidence.

Seems any side knows how to beat us now.
Let us have the ball for a while, as it's unlikely we'll do them any damage.
When we've played whatever zip we had out of ourselves and see how poor we've become, they just go upfield, score and, it's their game.

Not bad first half but atrocious 2nd, not helped by the personnel on the pitch after Wood went off. Too unbalanced and 4 samey central midfielders trying to operate together.

Absolutely rotten. Can’t pass a ball against a Championship’s second string, and then totally collapse when they bring their better players on.

Body language after their second goal tells me all I need to know. They couldn’t care less and Dyche has lost the seniors.

Pope - 5 - one great save but weak for the winner

Bardsley - 4
Mee - 4
Tarkowski - 3 - how did he miss?
Lowton - 3 - at fault for equaliser

Lennon - 4
Westwood- 3 - ball is like a bomb at his feet, just can’t wait to get rid of it. Calm down man!
Stephens - 6* - head and shoulders above the shower around him - tired, not surprisingly
Brownhill - 4

Wood - 3
Jay - 5 - good first half then back to feeding off the crumbs that fell off the scraps second

Cork - 4

Dire. Absolutely dire. Where are the likes of Gomez Mancini who looked refreshingly eager and sharp pre season? Are the U23s etc just a waste of time and effort? They looked absolutely knackered today again - covid effects or just old men? Didn’t think we could be worse than We were against Leeds - how wrong I was!

We haven’t cared about cup competitions for years. Yes we might have won a couple against poor opposition but it’s just used as a fitness exercise.
It’s the same when we are doing ok in the league so there is little chance when we are in the current rut we find ourselves in with confidence at rock bottom. I’m not sure how the latter improves, we are going to need an inspired signing or a lucky one to change the mood.

No - the ratings rules have been in place since we started them around 2005. No need to change them.

Pope 4 - not the same commanding presence this season.
Bardsley 5 - at least he cares. Some good challenges and a couple of decent crosses.
Lowton 4 - gave him one extra because he was out of position. Thomas ripped him to pieces.
Tarkowski 3 - needs to go. The sooner the better.
Mee 3 - what is wrong with him? Looks like he wants out too.
Lennon 5 - one of the few who actually looks like he cares. Not enough quality on the ball and opportunities to engage his defender.
Brownhill 5 - at least he puts some effort in.
Stephens 5 - agree with others. I thought he controlled things and was our best player first half, but tired dramatically.
Westwood 4 - assist aside, absolutely dreadful.
Wood 5 - didn’t think he played particularly well, but we looked much worse after he went off.
Rodriguez 5 - did what he could with the pointless long balls forward to him. Good finish from the only real chance he had.
Cork 3 - little man lost. Abysmal.

Pope 5 meh
Bardsley 3 slower than a tortoise
Tarkowski 4 can not be arsed, sod off Tarks
Mee 4 poor quality player
Lowton 4 looked lost
Lennon 3 hopeless wherever he played
Stephens -100000 this guy is an absolute joke, worst singing of Dyche's career.
Westwood 6* Best player in the 1st half, nobody to pass to in the 2nd
Brownhill 4 Completely lost out there
Wood 3 what has happened to Chris???? I'm baffled with how dreadful he is now
Jay 5 meh

Cork 3 offers absolutely nothing.

Bards 5 at least he wanted it
Tarks 3 shambolic
Mee 4 poor
Lowton 4 bad mistake
Lennon 5 our only threat
Westwood 4 poor
Stephens 5 can pass the ball
Brownhill 4 huff n puff n lose
Wood 3 just awful
Jay 6 good goal , but scraps and hoof ball to feed off

Cork 4 his legs went 2 yrs ago

We can’t blame SD for lack of investment but we’re as bad as we’ve been in 6 yrs by some way . Time for a new mid and Collins and Roberts ( Illness aside )

The usual cup rubbish. A half-arsed performance, players out of position, no urgency, no closing down, no chasing, no threat and a ton of hoofball against a Championship second string. They even brought on their reserve-reserve keeper and I don't think we forced him into a save over 60 minutes.

It's pathetic, reflected in the attendance.

We could do a lot worse than buying Sorba Thomas, a winger with pace, presence, and the ability to beat a man and cross a ball, something sadly lacking in our squad at the moment.

Worst I've seen under Dyche. No fight or passion whatsoever. Heads have gone and relegation almost certain. Time for a major rebuild with younger players.

Pope 5 one excellent save kept the score down
Bardsley 4
Lowton 3 yep his purple patch of 4 games per season is once again over
Mee 3 Disgraceful lack of leadership
Tarkowski 3 doesn't give a sh!t and hasn't done all season
Stephens 4
Westwood 3 appalling again
Brownhill 4
Lennon 3
Rodriguez 4 +1 for the goal
Wood 4 injured in the challenge that injured their keeper

Cork 3 Time to wrap up!

Appalling, gutless and contemptible performance. This regime is on its last legs imo.

It simply can't go on going forward

Highly worrying at this stage of the season. We’ve lacked guile for a long time, now we seem to think we don’t need positional discipline or effort either. Very sad to see.

Pope 5
Bardsley 5 mom
Lowton 3
Tarks 3
Mee 3
Lennon 4 worked but no quality
Brownhill 4 see Lennon
Stephens 4 lost midfield second half ok first
Westwood 5 +1 for assist (see Stephens)
Jay 5
Wood 5

Cork 3 WOW

Wood gets grief and I’m not suggesting (as my ratings show) he was particularly good but for the second week running we are worse after he’s gone off the pitch. He at least occupies the defenders and challenges the hoofs we put forward.

The sub and half time performance were equally as pathetic as each other. Wish we’d at least try the kids… instead we get this lame excuse it wouldn’t be fair on them.,., well that performance wasn’t fair on the fans.

Pope 5 constant time wasting tactic was embarrassing
Bardsley 6 showed some fight ( always does!)
Lowton 5 mistake but playing oop
Mee 4 as club captain WE expect more
Tarkowski 4 amazed he played ( cup tied for next club)
Stephens 6 can pass a ball
Westwood 4 can’t pass a ball
Brownhill 4 can’t pass a ball
Lennon 6 ran and chased
Rodriguez 5 took his goal well
Wood 4 If selection today was to help his confidence he might as well have been brewing up at SD house.

Cork 4 going through the motions

Pope 6
Bardsley 7 only one with any balls
Tarks 4 his mind is elsewhere
Mee 4 well past his best
Lowton 4 another one who needs replacing
Brownhill 3 whose idea was it to play him out left
Westwood 3 we had better passers of the ball in division 4, get rid
Stephens 5 best of a very bad lot in the middle,
Lennon 4 get rid
Jayrod 5 doesn’t seem interested
Wood 5 we were even worse when he went off

Cork 3 his future is 5 years behind him.

Pope 5
Bardsley 6
Lowton 4
Mee 4
Tarkowski 3
Stephens 4 - couldn’t build on a decent first half. Lost count the amount of times he gave away simple passes in the second.
Westwood 4 - decent assist. Thought he was OK in first. Lost it in the second half
Brownhill 3
Lennon 4
Rodriguez 4 - took his goal well but his overall game is poor.
Wood 4 - whilst his performance was a non entity, we looked so much worse after he had been replaced.

Cork 3 - been a good servant, but he’s beyond past it.

Extremely worrying. The players reaction after the first goal summed it up. All stood around aimlessly with no passion, fight or desire to rally the troops. A performance that stunk of everyone just going through the motions.

Playing 4 central midfielders in the second half was a joke. Players been asked to play out of position or multiple positions, just lead to a complete lack of cohesion. Our play in the final third is truly embarrassing for a premier league team.

Until a few weeks ago I’d have backed this team with their experience and Dyche mentality to scrape staying up, but not after today. It’s clear to see that many of them are happy seeing out their contracts knowing that their time at the club is no doubt coming to an end. Too many of the senior players look to have given up the fight, and I’m not sure how you stay up without that.

I would think that is the oldest ever first team Burnley have ever fielded and have the shortest average amount of time amongst them left on their contracts. Average age above 30.No investment last few years until the last window hence the problems we now have.
Changing the manager wouldn’t help with that squad but there is still a chance Dyche could perform another miracle.

Pope 5

Bardsley 8 Why can’t the others show his passion , if Roberts is not fit must replace Lowton in next match.

Lowton 3 usual story as soon as he thinks he is an automatic pick he gets complacent , responsible for giving a goal away in each of the last three games. Time to drop him for good.

Tarks 3 get rid now, looks like a lumbering cart house at the moment and must be a bad influence in the dressing room

Mee 6 Didn’t think today he did much wrong

Westwood 4 can we really carry a midfielder who sets up dangerous opposition counter attacks at least twice every match

Cork 4 ditto

Brown hill 4 don’t even think he is even championship quality if we go down

Stephens 4 more of the same in midfield, no pace or flair, creativity etc

Wood 4 Is it him or the lack of proper service?

Jay 6 usual gutsy performance, again no service from midfield apart from one excellent pass

Lennon 5 Our only creative threat at times together with Bardsleys crosses, how sad is that ?

Pope 5
Bardsley 6*
Tarkowski 4 there`s a good defender in there but I feel we won`t see it again, Collins in future for me
Mee 5
Lowton 3 out of position maybe but wtf was he thinking for the 1st, didn`t look bothered at all. Roberts in future please
Lennon 4 did what he has always done other than Man U the other night, nowt, no end product, but at least he did try
Westwood 4 automatically turns backwards these days, offers nothing going forward no confidence, Lg 1 performances
Stephens 5 At least moved the ball around with purpose but lack of match fitness began to show, just needs more game time
Brownhill 4 nowhere near good enough
JayRod 6 Well taken goal, never gave up even when he ploughed the lone furrow second half feeding of crap service
Wood 3 this man can trap it further than I can kick it, if he`s not scoring it`s zero contribution
Cork 3 sorry Jack it`s time up at this level and probably championship level as well

Dodgson He`s raw he`s young he`s inexperienced but hopefully he is the future and as such we need to start giving some of these young lads some game time rather than bringing on old has beens who will be off come May ( hopefully)

The thing that really irritated me today with Lowton and the 1st goal was after the initial bo!!ock dropped he then chased back to almost get himself into position then hung back and let their winger go on his merry way. It doesn't matter if you are playing out of position or not, that simply is unforgivable

Woeful stuff yet again. Too many players going through the motions and just have got into the habit of losing games. We are at a huge crossroad under Dyche and the owners just cannot see where the goals or the wins are going to come from.
