Imagine-No Cornet

Post by warksclaret » Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:33 pm

I appreciate its been a depressing weekend following that pitiful performance against an under strength Huddersfield. Imagine though had we not signed Cornet-I suspect we would be on 6 to 7 points. It shows what we all know -the squad , or first 11 is in dire need of strengthening. It leads me to ask, could we not have found more than 20 or so minutes for Connor Roberts so far this season when he has been with us for half a season yet has turned out for Wales several times.Do we wait another 17 games for his next 20 minute cameo. And with both our centre halves making gaffs on a more regular basis than we are accustomed to,would we have conceded less goals had Collins featured more regularly, after all he has not put a foot wrong in four starts. We all keep pushing for additions but we still largely playing the same team that has won one in 25

Imagine if Watford had never sacked Sean Dyche...

I expect we would have seen Collins and perhaps Roberts roo had they not been unavailable.

We basically played whi we could- several Prem teams got matches postponed with more available players than we had on Saturday

Playing for Wales when he shouldn't have been - both he (Roberts) and Collins have had injuries. Roberts has had surgery and a bad illness.

And there lies one issue, Roberts said he was fit for Wales , I know my own body!

We signed three players on the last transfer window. We are a struggling team. How many games have the three played. Not a lot. Cornet has probably played the most and he has gone straight into the first team. Now hes not here The other two havent played much. I presume they are for the future. In the Championship. It was hailed as a good window. Really? Shouldn't we be signing players who go straight into the first eleven?

All due respect what are people expecting from Roberts he’s an ok Rb he’s not going to come in suddenly transform the way we attack.

It obviously made sense to sign Tarks replacement and we needed cover at CB anyway. Roberts looks a really good, sensible signing but has been either injured or ill most of the time.....I think you are beating the manager/club with a punctured balloon on a stick here, though yes we should definitely have signed a CM and a winger in an ideal world.

So our second (or even third) choice right back plays for his country....
It's not as if he was likely to get a game barring injury to Lowton and Bardsley

If only there was a player called Juan Drima.

You could sign a Drima,
But he’s not the only Juan.
