Boxing Day ticket refunds ?

Post by Stalbansclaret » Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:56 pm

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere ...I haven't seen anything and have searched online in vain......but is it possible to obtain a refund for one-off tickets bought for the postponed Boxing Day game v Everton ? Both my kids bought a ticket , at £35 each, as they would all be in Burnley over the Christmas holidays.Neither of them will have any chance of attending the rescheduled fixture as they both live over 230 miles away and work full time.
With it being a Christmas game I would think this is a fairly common situation...does anyone know what the position is ?

You can only get a refund once they’ve announced a date for the rearranged fixture. I went down the ticket office the day after the Watford postponement.

Who’s saying that?

That's the official line from the ticket office. Original tickets can be reused but a refund will be issued on request.

I guess it's easier than refunding all the tickets then having to resell a load. Bit of a pain if you're short of cash after Christmas and know you won't be able to attend the rescheduled fixture though.

I've got 2 Villa away tickets (£60) which I'm banking on (great pun!) getting a refund for as it's highly unlikely they'll be used for the rearranged game. I was going to phone the ticket office this week. Am I OK to get a refund?

Ditto, I’ve £150 worth, like yourself it’s unlikely I’ll go midweek as I don’t like to use any of my holidays in the first few months of the year. Would be nice to know when I’m likely to see the money back.

I questioned it with the ticket office and they emailed to say that once the new date was announced you'd have the option of a refund.

They might rearrange the Villa game for FA cup 4th round weekend at the end of January. Maybe that would require too much common sense?

Home games don't cause me any problems but I have three Villa tickets but they are not refunding until such time as the game has been rescheduled.

I think it might require Villa to play two rearranged games on the same day, if that counts as common sense! They're expected to play Leeds on that date.

It looks like the cup weekend has moved to the start of February, and the last weekend in January is supposedly a winter break this season.

Thank you for the info CT. Seems a bit cheeky on their part tbh.
