Fans turning on Pace?
I know a lot of people are on the fence about Pace already but if it’s true that the release clause only exists in summer and we’ve just accepted the bid can see things turning against the chairman quickly. What constitutes a good window for Alan now?

I think I’d trust him with the financials. If I was him I’d be selling Tarkowski though instead of letting him go for free in Summer. That doesn’t seem like good business sense.

I'm not turning on him. He has done some good off the pitch. On it, we've signed Collins and Cornet who look excellent signings, and Roberts who could well be a decent signing. There are a few weeks left of the window, IF we fail to strengthen then rightly questions will be asked. No point in turning on him yet when we don't really know the ins and outs of the Wood deal. The fact is, he's 31 and out of contract next year, we as a club cannot continue to lose high value assets on free transfers.

He seems a pleasant enough guy but God only knows why he saw fit to "buy" a PL club with no money of his own.
At best he's a naïve business man who believes he can succeed where so many have failed. At worst he's a cowboy who will asset strip the club and leave without losing a penny of his own money. I hope and suspect it's the former but nothing good can come from his ownership.

Re: Fans turning on Pace?
People are looking for a scapegoat.
Some muppets have chosen pace, without having any real reason.
Let’s just wait for the full story, and let’s see what happens with the fee first. His first three signings have been very good, so how people can ride him I don’t know.

He’s been very well received indeed , this could yet be a cracking piece of business . It’s not like we’ve sold Cornet for 10m or anything . A replacement may be lined up

Won't we be losing some Pace with Wood gone? On the other hand, Wood was never any good at turning at Pace.

If there was no clause, would Dyche ever sell Wood at this stage of the season? What will this do to the relationships if this is the case?

Re: Fans turning on Pace?
Alan Pace will have spoken to the player and Dyche. Even if the clause was not live until summer it has been decided that the last thing we need is an unhappy player leading our front line, so we take the money and re-invest. Far from naive, they are pragmatists, getting him out now stops him sulking around the squad and is happening early enough that a replacement can be expected before the window closes.
Not happy but it makes sense.

Lets see how we react between now and Jan 31st. If we replace Wood and strengthen the midfield it MAY be a win/win.
If we dont invest then we might as well accept relegation.

.
Very now, he’s gone to Newcastle… he may not sign but it proves is heart is not in playing for Burnley. I’d love it if the deal crashes… but I’m not sure he would be welcomed back. Straight onto the transfer list and dropped to u23 squad if it was my decision.

I can only go off what has been reported in relation to the takeover.
Time will tell but I’m yet to see anything that has changed my opinion.
