Dyche to Everton?
Have I missed the thread or has it been deleted?
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but the lack of a thread that allows the usual suspects to vent their tortured spleens has me concerned that Dyche is going to Everton.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Re: Dyche to Everton?
He missed the bit about silly ideas acting exactly the same in reverse. He’s got a job to do here, and there are at least three more likely candidates. Finally though Dyche has what may appeal to the players and chairmen want at Everton, but the supporters reaction would be likely to lynch the owners, even before a ball was kicked.brexit wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 10:59 pmHave I missed the thread or has it been deleted?

Just being realistic what prem team is going to pay the buyout fee for a manager with what 6 wins since Jan 2021?
As another poster said I think the fans would be massively against before a ball was kicked anyway.

I had a quick look on grand old team in & around the time Benitez received his P45 & I couldn’t see anybody suggesting him, maybe things have changed now this was a few days ago I don’t think they’d go for dyche & to prise him away would probably cost a small fortune.

Re: Dyche to Everton?
it would work, dyche is more than capable without doubt. But the media and the numbskull everton fans will only accept a so called big name. their club is in disarray it would seem, millions spent and they are basically mediocre at best. Any fan or owner worth his or her salt, would realise he isn't a bad manager. basing a judgement on our current league position is gibberish. He would improve them from day one, but hopefully it will not come to fruition.

They’re mental not going for him but it makes me happy. He got us to Europe which is remarkable playing the best football I’ve ever seen on the turf. Still dream about detour in the first half of that season.they’re so dim lol

Best football you've ever seen on the Turf? I presume you haven't seen us play under other managers? I genuinely feel sorry for you if best football you've seen is under Dyche. Our first promotion season under Coyle we played some lovely football and I for one can't wait to see us back to play nice football again. Dyche's style has made me fall out of love with football. I'd happily drive him to Everton if they wanted him.Garnerssoap wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:52 amThey’re mental not going for him but it makes me happy. How could the chairmen sell Dyche to the fans?
You know that guy we sacked because he only won 5 games this season. Well we signed someone that has won once.
Just a none starter, I think Dyches opportunity to go to other premier league clubs is dwindling by the match day

Re: Dyche to Everton?
In fairness to Dyche he has been hampered by lack of funds by the previous chairman, some of our problems are down to him but he has always had a tiny budget so he has cut his cloth accordingly.

If Dyche went to Everton, would he take Lennon with him ?
Re: Dyche to Everton?
You can get 40/1 at Skybet on this being the case which equates to a 2.5% chance. He has been a fantastic manager for us and a perfect fit but I fear his chance of a move to a “bigger club” gone.
A few years ago I made the point that if he moved to that type of club he would be dealing with more players of the likes of Defour than Barnes calibre and he would have to change his playing style accordingly. After the West Brom away game where we got thumped 4-0 he said it was because of our fixation on trying to keep possession of the ball we “got drunk on possession” but this is the playing style of the top teams. Also our inability to retain the ball higher up the pitch is a reason why we have to go long when we are chasing the game.

If you don't think finishing 7th is a fantastic achievement then fair enough.

Re: Dyche to Everton?
These threads are great.
Every time there is a job going someone puts Dyche in for it and the same ones rush to get their digs in at him.
Suppose you should say at least Everton fans had a backbone, they wanted him gone and weren't afraid to say so away from a forum. They stuck their neck out and protested and got what they wanted. Maybe the little group on here could give it a go instead of constantly calling him on here or cowardly liking posts you don't have the balls to put yourself.
Roll on the next match day you have time to organise things

Re: Dyche to Everton?
I agree but we had Defour in the middle at the time for a large part of that season but the but at the moment it is very poor. A mate of mine who got divorced said his marriage was great early on but they just got fed up with each other and that is how I am feeling with Dyche as our manager.
Re: Dyche to Everton?
Said it a few times now but the only way Dyche leaves is if he walks which is not going to happen in my opinion. Whether it’s right or wrong a lot of people from outside the club especially other clubs fans see Dyche as a younger Allardyce/Pulis type. That’s partly down to the style of football, partly down to his preference of signing older experienced pros among other things. None of these traits combined with let’s be honest a poor 18months worth of results will be desirable to other premier league team unfortunately.
A poster further up said David Moyes re-invented himself which is correct he has but he used his time out of a job to go to various different countries and study various different styles of play, different players (which helped them get an absolute bargain when signing to two Czech lads) and different management techniques, If Dyche did that course he could re-invent himself but the longer he stays with us, playing the same way, going back to signing old experience pros instead of carrying on from the summer signing younger more hungry players and most importantly getting the same type of results….. Dyche won’t be going anywhere that’s classed as a step up from Burnley.

He’s also be hampered by his very rigid criteria which has resulted in him turning down the chance to buy some potential players.

Re: Dyche to Everton?
He most certainly can (if he even needs to as so far he hasnt failed at anything) but Moyes had to drop down a step to reinvet himself. He went from having Everton in the top 5 and managing Man Utd and to picking up a job at a struggling premier league team where he could prove himself as a top manager again.
By that logic Dyche would be picking up a top Championship club after Burnley and show he can get them up and keep them up playing a different brand of football that changes peoples opinions and then would maybe be in the window for an Everton or Leicester job

Re: Dyche to Everton?
The strange thing about SD is he can adapt, and can be successful but then suddenly reverts to his comfort zone. Bringing Barnes back early in the season was typical when it was obviously a regressive move. He’s bought into the mentality thing but it’s an attritional mentality and you can only withstand a siege for so long, at some point you have to break out and surprise the enemy. It almost amounts to a lack of self believe. A warrior who can only defend.
Re: Dyche to Everton?
There’s far more chance Dyche will be off next season, assuming we’re in the Championship.
That’s when clubs like Nottingham Forest will suddenly start to look attractive.

It was but you can only dine out on success for so long, football is very fluid & based on what’s happening currently. I can remember when Leicester won the league & raniero was lauded as the best thing since sliced bread & I th8nk the following season he got replaced because the results had dropped off & that’s a club not finishing 7th actually winning the bloody thing.

I think Dyche is perfect for us and has been fantastic over the years. However I just don’t see how Everton would be even remotely interested. There aiming for bigger fish
Re: Dyche to Everton?
Tbf most of their appointments in recent times have been supposed ‘bigger fish’ which have failed spectacularly. Perhaps what they need is a Dyche type, like when they took Moyes at first.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:44 amI think you have nailed it.

Steve Cooper is getting rave reviews at Forest.
I genuinely don't think there's another job out there for Dyche at the minute unless he turns us around big time.
His wages are far too big for the championship and his current abilities don't seem up for the Premier league.
He doesn't try to make money on players which will rule some clubs out and so will his football style.
Re: Dyche to Everton?
His abilities dont seem up to the Premier League? Guess hes just been lucky these past six or seven seasons then. How do you think an exalted one like Klopp or Mourinho woulsd cope with the transfer budget hes had over the past 3 or 4 seasons? I think I know. During his time here, the club had bought from the lower dovisions and generally bought well.
