Absolutely fuming from a personal perspective
I’m out that day for a major family birthday.
After the first game a 4hr drive both ways and a hotel wasted and another hotel wasted on Tuesday.
And now I cannot make it or even watch it as I’ll be busy.

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
Both clubs out of the FA Cup so makes sense to put it on fourth round weekend.

Damn was really hoping we’d have Cornet for this.
Re: Burnley v Watford new date
We will if they get knocked out v Egypt, who are a decent team.

Think they will get past Egypt in midweek but then lose to Morocco next weekend so a good chance he will be back

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
Well that sucks. I have arranged something for that day as I thought we wouldn't have a game. Oh well I missed Brentford and Leeds so far this season so maybe it's a good thing I won't be there
Re: Burnley v Watford new date
We are placing a lot of reliance on Cornet’s small shoulders. Unless we bring players in prior to this date we are doomed.
Additionally we are in danger of just writing off the next few fixtures as un winnable because of the calibre of opponents we will be facing. We need to pick up at least a couple of points from these games also to avoid being cast adrift. We have demonstrated on several occasions this season that we are incapable of picking up points from the lesser teams/relegation rivals, Newcastle and Leeds being prime examples. So beating Watford or even getting a draw against Watford is a big ask, with or without Maxwell Cornet.

There are a few dates coming up in Feb that we could do with you arranging something to do on if you would be as kind

I think you’re winning the award for the most negative poster of the day today every single post is doom & gloom!Jamesy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:57 amWe are placing a lot of reliance on Cornet’s small shoulders. Unless we bring players in prior to this date we are doomed.

Fair comment. Only I wouldn’t class it as negativity, just being realistic!Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 11:17 amI think you’re winning the award for the most negative poster of the day today every single post is doom & gloom!
I have just posted one on Meatloaf thread that wasn’t negative

Don't worry we will have our two new strikers by then, bedded into the club framework and ready to go

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
Now come on. Remember we are Burnley and we don't do things the easy way it wouldn't be any fun if we went on a long unbeaten run and finished comfortably mid-table. I want a last game showdown with the Geordies much like Plymouth all those years ago.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:59 amThere are a few dates coming up in Feb that we could do with you arranging something to do on if you would be as kind

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
Since Eddie Howe went to Newcastle they have played 9 PL games with 1 win, 4 draws and 4 losses picking up 7 points.
Our last 9 PL games we have won 1, drawn 5 and lost 3 picking up 8 points ---not a lot of people know that, particularly up here in Geordieland!

Likewise because of travel from the Isle of Man two trips already down the drain……and now I’ll be in lanzarotte because after all the sh of the last 12 months when she saw we had a gap in the footy calendar it was put to me we’d be better with a week away! ( back for the Man U & Liverpool games tho!)….ayrshireclaret83 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:25 amAbsolutely fuming from a personal perspective

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
I know it’s rearranged this game and people will have bought tickets for the called off one but the club should be looking at special offers to get the ground sold out for this one.
Re: Burnley v Watford new date
Is there a reason it’s not at 15:00?
Doubly rubbish for the Watford fans (and our supporters from further away) lumbered with an unnecessarily late return back home.

It was originally on BT and I believe it still is. Wonder if cameras etc will stay there until our game the following Tuesday against Man Utd which is also on BT.

Make it £10 per ticket and refund the difference to those that have already bought them.

Re: Burnley v Watford new date
The best bit about the 6pm ko is the towns eating and drinking establishments will be able to get some money in, after all the late call offs will have left them out of pocket.
