It’s about changing it up. He’s younger, more athletic and might bring a touch more ‘desire’ with a point to prove at this level. Agree just this sole change doesn’t keep us up. If we are relying on players like Roberts coming into the team to make a difference we will be down this season.

Re: Connor Roberts
He's definitely worth a shot, as others have said get him in RM for JBG, who's offered nothing for ages now.
We're currently bottom of the league, so in a sense we don't have anything to lose.
Collins should also be starting ahead of Tarks, who's clearly already got one foot in Tyneside, and for me if Newcastle offer a decent amount he can go for me, we only want guys who're 100% committed to the cause, not players just going through the motions.

This is absolute rubbish - Tarkowski hasn't shown any lack of commitment...just a couple of dodgy games.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:45 amHe's definitely worth a shot, as others have said get him in RM for JBG, who's offered nothing for ages now.

We need players who will give everything on the field for the rest of this season.
Past performances will mean nothing now.
The talk and rumours about Roberts have been one of the many unsettling things that have made this season one to forget so far.
If we are to turn this around we need Roberts in the first team now so we can see for ourselves how good he is. Nothing stopping that now except for Dyche’s selections.

Re: Connor Roberts
Big call as Lowtons been ok IMO. But I think it’s the right one. Get those long throws blasting in!
Re: Connor Roberts
Lowton, JBG and Cork all dropped.
Excellent, I just hope we persist with these changes even though today is probably a free hit.

I wanted Wood dropped for Jay as well so it’s worked out well. Just hope we play well and have a good go.

Outstanding PL debut. Look forward to him getting full match sharpness. He was still looking for the overlap in the 92nd minute!

Annoying that JBG didn’t find him & then lost possession with the shot so easily.
Thought he had a good game, dealt with Martinelli very well, but also got caught out of position on a few occasions.

Great start for the player and the team benefited from his selection by the manager today
Hopefully that destroys all the bad rumours for good and finally he can now be seen as one of 3 excellent summer signings by Pace

Looked very solid defensively.
Looking forward to seeing him against weaker sides where his attacking abilities can hopefully be demonstrated more than the chance you get at The Emirates.

The Tarky busters will be very quiet on here tonight..he was magnificent, as where all the team to be honest and there were no signs in that display we're going without a fight..Get the Turf packed, and hostile for the crucial Watford game...

Sounded like Roberts had a very good game.
With Westwood and Brownhill out next game maybe Dyche may move him up to midfield.

Re: Connor Roberts
Good debut , bundles of energy which radiates around the side . I think The whole side grafted exceptionally well, but given that Vydra is in need of a hernia op I think he worked ever so hard and hustled Arsenal well at times, good on him. Well done the lads, confidence booster - take that into the Watford game with a little bit of attacking quality and let’s make some noise in Turf! Come on Burnley!!

Have you seen what we have in midfield at the moment, don't underestimate Eric...could do a job there.

Fair play if you live in Los Angeles and get to all the home games and a handful of away games each season. Your parents must be loaded to afford to bring you over with such regularity!Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:07 pmI live in Los Angeles, but i probably get to as many as you.

Re: Connor Roberts
Happy to withdraw my comments about Tarks based on today's immense performance, I only hope it wasn't his last in a Burnley shirt, but I fear it might be if the rumours are to be believed. Mee was equally solid alongside him.
Didn't see the match as I was working, but Roberts sounded like he slotted in fine for his debut, and considering he only cost 2-3m he looks a steal.

I thought he played very well. We've a good player here and he's given Dyche a decision to make. Lowts has been great this seaaon mostly though so surprised at the harsh comments for him.
The future is looking pretty good with both him and Collins. Let's get through the now if we can

Anyone who thinks we are goo going to bring in 3 players in the next 9 days that are capable of walking into our first 11 live in cloud cuckoo land, we obviously haven't the finances to make this happenRVclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:33 amIt’s about changing it up. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can bring to us for the rest of the season. I hope and expect he’ll start against Watford where he’ll get the opportunity to do some attacking.

Re: Connor Roberts
Competition for places is always far healthier for any club, so if Collins and Roberts are pushing for a start then all the better, if we only had the luxury of such competition in other areas we'd be fine.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:24 pmI thought he played very well. 1 x quality CM ( cornet kinda level) would be f”great , and if we can somehow conjure something upfront ( Loan or otherwise) for me, that would be a fantastic Jan window . It’s the time when Pace & Co need to truly show their intent. Elite level world sports or Wild West rodeoTop Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:39 pmAnyone who thinks we are goo going to bring in 3 players in the next 9 days that are capable of walking into our first 11 live in cloud cuckoo land, we obviously haven't the finances to make this happen
