Everton fans today

Post by bobinho » Sat Jan 22, 2022 5:55 pm

Demonstrated their frustration at going a goal down by throwing plastic bottles at the celebrating Villa players.

Quite embarrassing the players reactions really, seeing as there didn't look to be an awful lot of contact. They will dive anytime won't they?

And just to head people off at the pass, I am absolutely NOT condoning the throwing of the items, that should never happen. I am highlighting the play acting of the players. It has even made the main news!!!

Someone arrested though so that's quick work by the authorities, no doubt if guilty it's a lifetime ban coming and that's fair enough. Plastic bottle today, who knows what would be thrown next time if it's not dealt with robustly.

They'll start banning fans from taking bottles to their seats soon, or ban the sale of them in the stadium.
That's the first step to dealing with the problem.

I'm vaguely aware of one place not allowing lids on the bottles when returning to your seats.

Like at OT, or is that just for away fans?

I haven't been in the away end at OT, just the home end for Carrick's testimonial and I don't recall them banning lids from bottles.

Wembley take your bottle lids. Somewhere else did it too a few years back, but can't remember where we were.
It's sort of annoying when you need water to take your drugs at half time.

Just do what they do in the CFS... grind it out on the bog cistern and sniff it up your hooter.

Wolves always took bottle lids, then bizarrely sold bottles inside with the bloody lid!!

Shocking to see and it needs stamping out with life bans.

Went to OT last month and they had to pour every drink out of the plastic bottle into a plastic cup. And they ran out of food!!

They’ll be banned for life etc the fans. Though the dramatic flouncing and throwing themselves to the floor like they’d been shot with an elephant gun was pathetic in the extreme

Prawn sandwich?
Empty yoghurt pot?
Caviar in a plastic container?

I think the bottles were full. They might not be as tough as Joey but any blow to the head can put you down.

The bottle missed both of them who dived to the floor.

It's gone off Twitter now for copyright but the video I saw showed clearly the bottle never hit either.

From what I saw it hit both of them. The smirking faces on the Joey Barton photo shows how some people view this type of disgusting cowardly behaviour.

Stevenage take the kids off they also remove flasks of tea from 80 yr old guys with walking sticks on cold January Tuesday nights.

There will no doubt be more things thrown at away players celebrating in front of home fans, these thing tend to be like London buses.,

That’s the one I saw. Even the one on the news looked a bit “iffy”. I agree Minnie that fully grown men can indeed be knocked to the ground from a strike to the head. Just not by what happened today. To be clear, I’m saying they WEREN'T knocked to the ground by the plastic bottles. They simulated it.

Just goes to show how footballers are now conditioned to cheat/simulate and to be - and I’m using technical jargon here - soft as shite once they enter the pitch.

Not excusing the knobheads throwing things indiscriminately, ban em for life I say, but the amateur dramatics from the Villa players was just embarrassing.
