What kick off times have we played games ?
Yes I am bored and stuck in the house with the dreaded Covid for the second time and was thinking about the Watford game and the 6pm kick off time, have we ever played at this time before ?
Can we get a list of all the different kick off times we have ever played ?
I’ll start obviously 3pm & 7.45pm.
I wonder what’s the earliest and the latest ?
Provide the game and date for any unusual ones….

Winter games before floodlights would be 2.0 or 2.15.

Three day week in 1974 games were kicking off 2.00 to avoid using floodlights. Went to those Saturday morning kick -off at Scunthorpe( think there were four of them including an FA Cup tie with the earliest being 11.00 am).
Think we had a home ga.e v West Brom in the Championship that kicked off at 6.00 on a Sunday.

A bizarre 12.31 v Peterborough FA Cup 3rd Rd Jan 2020.
Re: What kick off times have we played games ?
There was a nationwide 3.07 kickoff once over to commemorate the Hillsborough disaster, if I remember rightly. I presume we were in that.

Seem to remember 3.15 kick offs in the 60's by a few clubs (Bury were one) to enable fans to get from the pub to see kickoff. Licensing rules were pretty strict in those days

The 5-0 hammering at ewood was played at midday the day the clocks went back, so in my hangover head that kicked off at 11am.

Was that the 2-2, with a last minute equaliser where Chris Marples was sent off for punching Mike Conroy?

That one was definitely 11 o'clock BLH_Claret - I was writing about it only yesterday for the 1991/92 articles.BLH_Claret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 5:59 pmWas that the 2-2, with a last minute equaliser where Chris Marples was sent off for punching Mike Conroy?

Re: What kick off times have we played games ?
Its amazing what poor entertainment we put with then compared to today with variable kick off times that can be changed at a moments notice, 15 minutes minimum at half time and at least ten minutes "time added on" to allow injury time substitutes to amble off the pich and hug the rest of their teammates on the way. Todays football administrators really do need congratulating for their efforts to improve the match day experience.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 7:14 pmGood job too, in the late sixties I lived in Lytham and the last train back from Burnley Central was 9.29pm.
In those days, half time was only ten minutes and there was never a lot of injury time.
Re: What kick off times have we played games ?
Although unplanned, we must have had a few delayed kick offs. The obvious one being the Orient game, kicked off at 3.15.

Re: What kick off times have we played games ?
Pretty sure Scunthorpe had both 11:00 & 11:30 kick offs. 11:30 was the league game and i definitely remember the FA Cup game in 1989 being 11:00 as that was the game where 10 of us arrived just after kick off in a Transit van and were refused entry due to the amount of beer in the van and then received a police escort out of town and along the motorway so we couldnt turn back.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 2:06 pmBeen to Scunthorpe when it was either 11am or 11.30 kick off in the 4th division days
