Weghorst fit

Post by ClaretTony » Thu Feb 17, 2022 1:25 pm

Dyche said Weghorst should be ok for Brighton & Barnes has come through 90 mins in a behind closed doors game.

Taylor, JBG & Vydra progressing.

I presume Pieters was struggling with cramp rather that a slight muscle pull on Sunday.

Hopefully we get everyone back fit sooner rather than later.

No mention of Pieters other than being asked how well he’s done since coming in for Taylor.

Don't think so - we were told touch and go for Arsenal which is usually a month and we are short of that still :D

The wind will ease somewhat on Saturday up here but will still be extremely strong on the south coast. We need to manage the conditions.

As has been the case for a few games now but we could be literally just one win away from transforming our season.

Hmm! Weghorst being fit gives us a much better chance of getting that win, but we need to ensure it comes soon, ideally on Saturday, if only to give the fans and players a welcome lift.

That's what I'm effectively saying. A win on Saturday could transform our season in just one game.

It could but we've been here before, however we can take confidence from our last few displays (Watford apart), just need to pop the ball in the onion bag, simple game this footy lark. :)

Get Pope practicing kicking at goal. He could score down wind.
Up to 100mph winds on the South Coast tomorrow.

I hope the high winds doesn’t put the game in jeopardy. The last thing we need is another postponement.

Seems like everyone is bubbling with confidence. I do feel a little guilty being party -pooper and mentioning that Brighton have lost just five times all season.

That might have been good enough in Germany, but it won't do over here.

We need him to be Dyche fit.

I guess the players would normally travel down on Friday? If so there might be a possibility they won't travel as according to the forecast there is an amber warning for most of England down to the South coast during the day of Friday, and a yellow warning for Saturday. It may well be wise for supporters not to travel either.

It would be surprising if there aren't a few games called off due to the high winds predicted, especially as people are being told not to travel unless necessary.

It’s just a little breezy at the moment. I was lead to believe that we were facing a hurricane but the sun is out and it is just a little windy.

Been reported on Twitter (by press sources, not just randoms) that the team's scheduled flight from Manchester this afternoon has been cancelled due to the storm and the club is having to make alternative arrangements.

Don't know whereabouts in Bournemouth you are, but in Ensbury Park in Bournemouth it's a darn sight more than 'a little breezy'! :o

I’m in Westbourne. I must admit to still being in bed when I made that remark. I think that I must have fallen asleep again and slept through it. When I ventured out at 2pm, many roads were closed on account of trees being blown down and so it must have been worse than I thought.

Trees aren’t just the problem more so in urban areas slates coming off roofs & flying debris I can remember the comment about schools being shut, kids don’t usually attend schools wearing hard hats so maybe in some cases a justified decision.
