I really do enjoy reading this website when we get one over on Brighton.
They don't like us - which is funny.

''I seldom enjoy a Burnley match. Lots of big units dishing out dirty challenges and all marching up en masse for the inevitable goal scored from a corner. Can’t stand ‘em.

I do sort of admire Dyche though.''

Mentioned it on the match thread at 2-0 it might be a good read.
3-0 will surely be better.

They are 9th in the prem and talk like they should be in top 6 and a lot want Potter out....when they actually do start to struggle again properly their "fans" will make the place toxic...entitled pricks doesn't come close

They don't deserve a manager as nice as Potter, and I highly doubt he'll still be there next season.

If 9th isn't good enough for them then they're going to be in for lots of disappointing campaigns in the PL.

How many seasons had they spent in the top flight of English football before their current run? Yet some fans are looking to pot the manager that has them 9th in the table?
This false entitlement is unrivalled surely?

Plastic club. Plastic fans.

They are now in their fifth Premier League season and they had four seasons in the old first division between 1979 & 1983.

And the famous FA Cup final against United in that period. Some of their fans appear to have forgotten that it was fairly recently they were slumming it in the lower divisions, and ground sharing at Gillingham, short memories are sadly not exclusive to Brighton's fanbase alone though.

They had a day like our Orient day, fighting for their lives to stay in the league. But they went through some awful years after they were robbed of their ground by Bill Archer.

Indeed they did, but surely that's why they should embrace their recent success, as who knows where they'll be in a few years.

I appreciate the older Brighton fans might be humble enough to remember the bad old days, just like ourselves, i have good memories myself of trips to the Goldstone ground....now they have big backers with money behind them I guess the younger fans expect them to be beating 'little' teams like Burnley. How times change.

Summed up how plastic they are when they booed their team at half time and full time despite Potter doing a great job and having them in the top half of the Premier League

Better to read the comments from Brighton fans on the BBC match report - much more balanced and sensible. Plenty complementing our performance and acknowledging we deserved the win

It looks like our board to be fair, quite a few massively over the top comments from the same people, two great historical references that saddos like me will only get, and quite a bit of grudging respect

In short, its a football messageboard!

Never really liked Brighton ever since they thought they had 'arrived' little ole Brighton wasn't too bad but their fans appear to be acting above their station but that's Brighton. So the Brighton people think living 'up here' would be terrible well today I read that Brighton schools have asked that parents teach their children to refer to them as GROWN UP'S and not Mum and Dad so not to stigmatise the NONE TRADITIONAL FAMILIES well I know where I don't want to live.

"Can’t say I’m too surprised. When was the last time we played well against Burnley? We robbed them earlier in the season when they were better than us. We are awful every time at home against them. Somehow they always get up for it"

A very fair assessment of what happened and what we do to Brighton

They should - but look at the overreaction from our fans because we are having a struggle. This message board is toxic after a poor performance.

I had a look. There is too much of it to spend much time looking, and most of what I saw seem to agree that we, basically, have their number when in Falmer.
I did like the comment that wout was like a striker from Harrods when they shopped for them in pound land.
I always thought that connolly was a pain in the ass. Where's he gone?

Quite so and I wouldn't mind if it was constructive debate, but it's usually two extremes clashing.

I openly admit I've expressed my frustrations at times this season, not least after the Leeds debacle, but I try as much as possible to do it in a sensible manner, and although I don't always succeed it's not for the want of trying.

TBF there has been a few fair poor performances this season, and naturally when we're near the foot of the table fans are entitled to be upset, but there's also been several decent displays where we haven't got what we deserved, thankfully we appear to slowly be getting back on an even keel, and today was a vindication of Sean's mantra that we aren't far away, now we just need to ensure we follow up this long awaited victory.

Promising signs though, and I'm slightly more hopeful than I was at KO time, although it'll still be an uphill battle, however we're now showing we're up for the battle, and that plus our past experience of this situation offers us an evens shot at surviving, also the number of games in hand could well be crucial.

Hard to disagree, yet we could still have got draws in both those games, shows the fine margins in this league.

There were some bellends suggesting we should pot Dyche IF we go down.
Despite the record he has in The Championship.

It’s not club specific, football is full of them.

"Can’t say I’m too surprised. When was the last time we played well against Burnley? We robbed them earlier in the season when they were better than us. We are awful every time at home against them. Somehow they always get up for it"

A very fair assessment of what happened and what we do to Brighton
Well, I didn’t realise Brighton was our cup final.

I spent a couple of hours reading 50 odd pages of this last night and if I didnt know better I would believe that the Seagulls had been mugged off by northern thugs, but having now watched the game in full I do think Duffy , Mac Allister, Bissouma and Maupay should have been sent off.
It used to be " Gustavo Poyet your team's a disgrace" now it is "Graham Potter your team's a disgrace".
To be fair Potter was gracious in his post match comments.
