1 from 4
Obviously, we're all looking at this table on the hour, every hour
But, seriously, it's looking better than it's looked for most of the season.
It is in our hands!
With Watford and Norwich almost history, it is a simple equation... 1 from 4 to join them, playing our friends from down the M65 next season.

In this position, if we didn’t have dyche managing us, we’d all wish he were, so I’m more confident than I have been for weeks really. I was convinced we were gone after the Leeds debacle. Now it’s in our hands.

Watford Norwich & Clueless Leeds & there even more Clueless manager..absolutely shocking appointment especially when Fat Sam would have turned Leeds round given the chance.

We’ve got to do our bit and turn up on Saturday.
If we don’t then we probably don’t deserve to stay in this league.

Add some points deductions for Everton and it’ll look grand.

Re: 1 from 4
Losing Ben Mee worries me.
Honestly consider 4 - 3 - 3 (4 - 5 -1 in effect) By adding Cork on left of 3
Lennon/Jay --- WW -- Dwight/Cornet
Just Don't Concede.
We'll come through 0-2 with 3 points.

Winning less than anybody else in the league needs to change quickly! Has a side ever stayed up having won less than anybody else in the league? I’m sure they will, but I’d be interested in viewing the table

No point looking back .......but some of the points we have given away and some of the outrageous VAR decisions against us have been so costly.
We have the easiest run in it is up to us UTC.

Whilst the table gives us a chance we struggle to win, struggle to score, and struggle to win crunch games. Let’s hope we turn up on Saturday, put in a performance and get a result.

The easiest route for our survival (36 points) would be 3 wins, six draws, 3 defeats which is certainly do-able.
Re: 1 from 4
Brentford and Norwich away (in the next three games) will go a long way to determining our season
4 points from those two will give us the confidence to see off the other relegation rivals
Bookies (after last nights results) have us 4th bottom - Brentford as high as 6/1 against relegation (and that's with our shirt sponsor !!!)

Re: 1 from 4
Absolutely. We also have Watford soon after, plus some other winnable games such as home to Wolves and Villa. What am I saying?... One game at a time!

Beat:
Brentford (A), Norwich (A), Watford (A), Southampton (H), Newcastle (H), Everton (H)
Draw:
Wolves (H), Villa (H)
Finish on 41 points (may even be higher as the likes of Villa, Spurs and Wolves get their flip flops on)
Have no fear.

Personally I think if we win at Watford & Brentford...that will see us go on and avoid relegation so easy to say,but difficult to do keep the faith we are going to be ok.

Re: 1 from 4
Definitely looks an awful lot more promising than it did a few short weeks ago, but we have to ensure we take full advantage of our good fortune, and bring 3 points home from West London tomorrow.
Win the games against those around us, and we'll be fine no bother, and Everton & Leeds are now both under huge pressure, and with untried managers in this situation.

Are we due to play a rearranged game before the end of the month?
After tomorrow our next game is Man City on 2nd April, by which time we'll have another game in hand on virtually everyone.

Re: 1 from 4
Genuinely think that bar City, we can get points from any of our remaining fixtures.
Lose on Saturday and it will be more difficult obviously and will probably stop us from catching Brentford, but it will be far from over.
Leeds losing 3-0 last night was a massive result, as the new manager bounce doesn't seem to be in effect, and they got booed off at half time

Newcastle have now gone on their longest winless run and longest unbeaten run (nine games) in over a decade, all in the same season. A fact that epitomises the club’s turnaround under Howe.

I think the Brentford result will make or break our season. A win and we are in a great position to stay up, a draw is not disastrous but makes it that bit harder and a loss will knock our confidence and we could really struggle after that.

Though it would be great to win at Brentford, that table does suggest that its not a "make or break" game for our season

Done an incredible job. Will be safe by the time we play them and hopefully Wood Howe and Tripps relax their intensity a touch…RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 11:17 amNewcastle have now gone on their longest winless run and longest unbeaten run (nine games) in over a decade, all in the same season. Yes but I wouldn’t take watfords team over ours. It’s all swings & roundabouts, some have better managers but not complimented with the quality of the sides managing.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:01 pmFair enough you would prefer Hodgson over Dyche.

Based on experience that’s the only reason not necessarily the short lived Watford stint although I think 4pts from villa away & utd away weren’t bad results. The results don’t support the statement in mirroring reality that’s all I said.

Re: 1 from 4
Brentford got a much needed win last time out but this is a massive game for them.
Their next six games after us are:-
Leicester (a)
Chelsea (a)
West Ham (h)
Watford (a)
Tottenham (h)
Man Utd (a)
I'd like to think we take the game to Brentford on Saturday and win but worse case scenario, after the weekend fixtures we are no further away from Everton, Leeds and Brentford than we are now.
When we face City we will have played three less games than Leeds and Brentford, hopefully with a small margin to overturn and an almost fully fit squad.

We need to avoid "periods of madness" to stand a chance-ie the last quarter v Leicester and the second half v Chelsea
Re: 1 from 4
The thing with Brentford is they know that if they win tomorrow, they're pretty much safe. Not mathematically, obviously, but they'll have a lot of breathing space. As far as I'm concerned it's a must not lose if we're to stay up.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:56 pmBrentford got a much needed win last time out but this is a massive game for them.
