Mee fit for Wednesday?
Mee fit for Wednesday?
The headline suggests he will be but the article doesn't really make me think that's the case.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
I think the headline is missing a ‘not’ after the ‘will’.

See presser and I'm not sure we will see him again this season and then even for us again.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
I think Mee will sign a new deal, Premier League or Championship.

Wow you really are a ray of light today ... Private Fraser springs to mind.alboclaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 9:40 pmSee presser and I'm not sure we will see him again this season and then even for us again.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Maybe I need a sleep
Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Vydra back. I'd like to see him and WW and Maxwel playing together. Well if we had a midfield that could get the ball to them I would.
Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Now added a "not". Bit of an error that one.
As an aside, paying for an ad-lite, not ad-free, version doesn't sound like a great incentive.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
For those who don't believe Ben has been a huge miss, in the 3 and a half games we've played since his injury against Leicester, we've conceded 10 goals, when in the previous 7 we shipped only 3.
Sadly it appears he's nowhere near being ready to return, and his absence leaves a huge void in the centre of our defence.
The real concern is if he flies the nest along with Tarks, this will mean we'll need to sign 2 centre backs, one to partner Collins, and one as back up, unless we're going to rely on Long & Thomas, which if we're in the Championship we may well have no option but to.

Mees injury was probably the final nail in our PL coffin

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
We all know Ben is a fantastic captain and warrior, and amongst our leading goal scorers this season would you believe. However for us to be pinning our PL on him, says so much about the depth of our squad for an established PL side. Unbelievable Jeff !!

Would anybody have our win-loss, it feels more like loss-loss, record without Ben since he became captain. Has any individual ever been so sadly missed?
Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
When was the last time we won without him in the side?

We've won 2, drawn 7 and lost 12 - the two wins were during project restart at West Ham & Norwich in July 2020.

So 13 points out of 63. What a miss he will be IF he doesn’t extend.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 3:11 pmSince become captain, he's missed 21 league games

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Not really prior to losing our last 4, we'd not lost more than 2 successive games all season, yes we've drawn plenty, but we were at least picking up points on a fairly regular basis, and we were slowly getting back to keeping cleans sheets, now we seem to have completely given up the ghost unfortunately.
And Wednesday is precisely the type of fixture where a fit Ben Mee would be integral to our hopes of getting a vital win.

Last time we lost four was against Everton, Man U, Villa & Chelsea starting Boxing Day 2019.tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 7:24 pmNot really prior to losing our last 4, we'd not lost more than 2 successive games all season, yes we've drawn plenty, but we were at least picking up points on a fairly regular basis, and we were slowly getting back to keeping cleans sheets, now we seem to have completely given up the ghost unfortunately.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
That stat doesn't surprise me, we rarely endure long losing spells even in the PL, what's likely to come back to haunt us is all the draws we racked up in the 1st half of the campaign, turn 3 or 4 of those into wins, and really we should have, then we'd be far more secure in the table.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 9:27 pmLast time we lost four was against Everton, Man U, Villa & Chelsea starting Boxing Day 2019.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Exactly why this season, should we be relegated, will be such a frustration. We won’t have been relegated because we are little Burnley, unable to compete financially. That time may well have come, it really wasn’t this season though.tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 9:30 pmThat stat doesn't surprise me, we rarely endure long losing spells even in the PL, what's likely to come back to haunt us is all the draws we racked up in the 1st half of the campaign, turn 3 or 4 of those into wins, and really we should have, then we'd be far more secure in the table.

Re: Mee fit for Wednesday?
Mee out tonight, but according to the beeb he could return for Norwich, TBH that seems optimistic, even more so given Sean's caution over players carrying knocks.
