Watford vs Leeds

Post by G0foste » Sat Apr 09, 2022 12:31 pm

What's the best result for us? A defeat for Leeds and a Clarets win on Sunday, puts them right back in the relegation mix.

Yes, a Watford win would be best.

Based on the current score I'd have to agree

When you look at the squads of both leeds and everton there is no way they should be anywhere near relegation. They have quality all over the pitch. Both will be safe. We have left it far too late. And when I say we I mean Dyche.

Everton and Leeds win are the worst possible results for us this weekend, however we just have to keep believing and win tmrw, and as has been said hope wet spam are below par coming back from lyon. Plenty twists and turns to come yet, that of course are not expected. C'mon Watford.

Leeds have been safe for a long time although the table hasn’t suggested it, slowly away they’ve been improving as the injured players have been slowly introduced back, 1 of the major reasons for the slide before were injured players bielsa was the easy fall guy & easily identified as liable for the slump.

We may go down, but after 30 games, the cream has already risen and the dregs already settled. Leeds and Everton are near the bottom because they belong there.

Maybe Leeds will be safe if they win today but if we get a win tomorrow, Everton are still in deep trouble with their run in.
They won't find the rest of their opponents as accomodating as United today.

Leeds only have 6 games left after today. They're nit safe at all if we do the business tomorrow

Watford have been really poor. Leeds have a clinical edge, they’ve always got a goal or two in them. That’s them safe now.

Prefer Leeds to win. Need Watford out of it by the time we play them

Let's look at it this way.....Watford are toast after today. They'll have to beat Brentford, Everton (hopefully) and us to have any chance...and even then it's a long shot.

We have to remain focused and keep taking points. We have games in hand. We have winnable games. We can drag Everton, Leeds (yes, even Leeds), Brentford etc into it, again.

Personally, I think, as long as we win tomorrow, Everton are in more trouble and we'll pass them.

Something in what you say here, Salisbury. We only need one other team apart from Norwich and Watford to be worse than us and we're safe. Everton can be that team (in spite of their result today)

9 home PL defeats on the spin for Watford now, if we can't go there and bag 3 points then we'll rightly be heading down.

Agree with those above that a Leeds win is no bad thing, they were always likely to be safe anyway, and if the bottom 2 are cut adrift then all the greater our hopes of surviving.

I think that’s a good result for us. We can catch Everton if we do the business against Norwich and Watford.

It’ll be tough, we’ll still be third favourites for the drop, but we can do it.

Everton have Watford to play......at Watford, too.

I know Everton are cr@p away from home but might just be the game to change things for them. I do think they'll slip up against Liverpool, Leicester (twice), Arsenal, Chelsea and possibly Palace........Everton are a looooooooooong way from being safe

Well if you had to pick 2 favourable away days, you couldn't ask for better than trips to Norwich & Watford could you.

It's looking grim for both of those sides now, and given today's results it seems to be a shootout between ourselves and Everton for that final spot.

The main thing is we get 3 points tomorrow, that's all we can do to help ourselves, and whatever others do then so be it.

As long as the accommodating stops with opposition managers winding Everton up there’s hope.

Leeds are a great team and were never going down so today's win was a good result for Burnley

It's 3 from Burnley, Norwich, Watford and Everton and everyone else can be ignored as far as relegation is concerned

That is ludicrous. For a start Leeds are not a great team. Great teams don't have goal differences like theirs. Secondly, if we win our games in hand on them, we go above them.

Irrelevant now.

As much as it pains me, DA’s second paragraph is bang on the money.

The first paragraph is of his usual standard.
