Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Bit of both, I think
Thought you meant he’d actually been saying a bit about us - I’ve seen the odd Twitter comment but that’s the limit of it.

But he is a legend

I would suggest Ben Mee until the end of the season.
Take time consider a new manager, maybe Michael Carrick has the qualities we need.

Why do people think that good players will make good managers? We need experience, especially in the next weeks.

Betting no 1 rules himself out.
No 2 Mike Duff says he will take it.
Bets that’s you all excited.

I've been out a lot today and haven't been able to keep up with things but I haven't seen any kind of links. To sack a manager at this stage, surely you need the new man lined up. Seems to me that there is no succession plan in place and that is worrying.

Just that he’d obviously want the job. But concentrating on his job. I’m probably too used to Dyche’s interviews saying nothing when asked anything like that

I don’t know who the next manager will be, but I’d venture there’s a significant chance that they last less than 12 months in the role.

If pace has the hire & fire model & it's successful with continuity it can't be a bad thing it keeps everybody on their toes, instead of a manager who thought he was above the club or that perception was interpreted by some.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 7:26 pmI don’t know who the next manager will be, but I’d venture there’s a significant chance that they last less than 12 months in the role.

To be fair, it was ok
He said he had only ever been at two clubs in his life and he loves both of them so if he was offered the job he would have to say yes. But he is concentrating on the job at he has . To be fair to him he didn’t even know SC had been sacked till the journo asked the question.

The majority of under performing football clubs operate on a hire and fire basis. Watford are probably the only ones who are remotely close to being above expected results.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 7:31 pmIf pace has the hire & fire model & it's successful with continuity it can't be a bad thing it keeps everybody on their toes, instead of a manager who thought he was above the club or that perception was interpreted by some.
But hey, why not follow the rest of the clubs, spunking 150% plus wages to turnover in the championship and paying multiple coaching squads, further growing the debt and crippling the club.

If we want to appoint someone ASAP, Farke isn t a bad shout, a bit left field, but Neil Critchley who's doing a good job at Blackpool, or Ryan Lowe who's recently joined PNE, both young coaches who have shown they can work on a budget, and also are capable of developing young talent.

Farke ticks both those boxes doesn't he, and crucially he's available right away, he's probably the best we're going to get TBH if we want someone with Prem experience, but who also knows how to get out of the Champ.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 8:46 pmBut zero evidence they can get a team out of the championship or any premier league experience.
Far better to take a punt on a younger hope, than waste money on the likes of BFS.

Think we’d have more successful ‘shots’ and could cum back up no problem.

If BFS gets the job it will be a disaster. The smirking lumping lards face when they cheated to a win at Turf Moor can never be erased.

Re: Name the next manager
That comment of mine isn't suggesting we should get rid of stability and structure, only that we need a change.
Re: Name the next manager
I would say as a left field appointment Nigel Pearson who is at Bristol City at the moment. He is treading water with the Robins at the moment and I don't think by his comments he is keen to stay around. Look at what he did with Leicester in 2014/15 when he managed to steer them clear from relegation and to 14th place I think. If we are looking for a manager who is proven at this level and knows how to rescue teams and get them focused on the job ahead, it would be him (perhaps on a short term deal until end of the season) Please don't appoint BFS.
If we do go down (which I expect we will) then I would approach Michael Duff to be manager in the Summer. Not sure he's Prem material just yet, but he do a great job in the Championship for us.

Re: Name the next manager
I have been impressed with the managerial career of Ryan Mason so far. Chris Wilder also has an impressive managerial history. I think either would settle in here quickly. Sean didn’t have premier league experience, or anything to suggest that he would get Watford promoted from the championship. Having said that I had been impressed with how he coped with the fire sale of players from Watford’s first team squad.

Re: Name the next manager
I can't see a situation where A Pace can appoint a permanent manager at this moment in time.
If we stay up ( unlikely ) we need a manager with Premiership credentials, if we are relegated we need a manager with different abilities.
8 games is not much time for anyone irrespective. One less after Sunday.
Maybe an ex player with a bit of character to unite the lads until the end of the season and then decide when we know where we are.

No Decent manager is going to put a relegation on his cv. As for a manager who would get us out of the championship, there’s a manager who has just become available, his credentials in the championship is exemplary. Brings a trusted team with him as well.

Why don’t we get Mullen back? If people wanted Dyche to remain as manager indefinitely based on what he did in 2018 regardless of results and performances, then I don’r understand why people aren’t saying we should get mullen in based on what he did for us in 1992?
You can be a club legend but that doesn’t you should overstay your welcome. Duff for me was a club legend but I wouldn't have him in the side now! At times you have to move on and admit it isn’t working anymore for whatever reason.

What about the "darling" of Jeff Stelling and all of the pundits on Soccer Saturday, who Jeff suggested should have been manager of the season last year for what he had achieved managing the club on a shoestring budget.
Gareth Ainsworth anybody?
I am sure Sam Vokes could provide a reference.

Isn't there data that shows stability over a period I'd actually more beneficial?
