That's twice I have read that word on here today.
I don't recall it having been used before on here, has it?

Would Jed Wallace be better than McNeil and Cornet, if they were to leave for example? I'm not saying that we can't improve on any of our players.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 2:48 pmwhy is it unrealistic ? As an example and with zero thought time Jed Wallace on a free would be better than JBG

Maybe re-read what I wrote, and if you still don't understand then it could be time to take a break.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 2:52 pmI can't believe I've just read someone say we might have stayed up with Dyches tactics in the last game when Jackson had to jump through hoops to get us to the last day fighting because Sean couldn't get us to that position. Think I need to take a break from here!!

Re: Name the next manager
Not sure, McNeil needs to find his way again. Cornet is decent. It is undoubtedly hard to judge though I agree, but if you look through our current team it's probably only Westwood, McNeil, Cornet and Wout (maybe Lennon ?) that haven't played a decent amount of time in the Championship. The judgement is well and truly out on WW imho
edit: what I would say Riley is that if it turns out to be Kompany there are some brilliant players in Belgium and he'll know exactly who they are and if he can get them. He won't be coming to us if there is no money to spend
Re: Name the next manager
Leeds was the very next home game too, zero lesson learnt. There was clear bias in Dyche's selections too, the decision to drop Cork for an out of form Westwood was a shocker. Collins was brilliant but then dropped the next game. Taylor leaking goals every game still picked every game.

How disappointing.......was hoping we'd have signed Kompany by now!
What's the hold up?
Everyone was so sure it's happening.

Saw on Sky Sports News ticker tape that Anderlecht and Kompany have parted, er, company.

News on kompany seems to have dried up, after every news feed had been reporting for at least the last 3 days, million dollar question is will he or won't he.

Pretty confident he will. When CT and Boden reckon it’s done, it’s probably done. Probably some formalities and paperwork to dust off, plus all the announcement content / interviews they will be creating.

If they're as quick to announce this arrival as they are to announce some of the departures, then we'd better wait and see who leads the team out on 30th July.

It would be good to have him place this week. I feel more than ever we need to crack on with renewals/releases and getting new signings in the building ASAP.
Amazingly, the new season starts 9 weeks on Saturday!

Re: Name the next manager
Yes, only a short one but yes.
For those concerned about the delay, I don’t think there is one, it is just not a quick process sometimes agreeing all the detail of a contract. I’ve certainly heard nothing today to suggest anything has gone or is going wrong.

Re: Name the next manager
Agree with the sentiment, but not on Taylor. He was marking 2 men on his own, and Dwight was doing nothing to help. I said before they equalised, and still do today, if SD had brought Pieters on for Dwight, we'd have won that game.KRBFC wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 3:21 pmLeeds was the very next home game too, zero lesson learnt. Winning the opener would probably have helped us to hold onto the win against Leeds the next match. Those 2 home matches set us up for the season that was to follow, it could have all been so different.

the point is that the yanks are gambling with the future of our club. Burnley do not employ foreign managers with no championship experience. its a massive no from me.

Sorry, I meant bias in selection throughout the last year or two, not specifically the Leeds game. I agree Pieters for Dwight, double up on Raphina and we take 3 points instead of 1.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 4:02 pmAgree with the sentiment, but not on Taylor. I know that the majority of Burnley fans don’t take the posters on this board seriously mainly because the bulk of you never attend games but I for one am shocked that so called Burnley fans think it’s a good idea to employ a manager because he’s a big name. I still think your all on a wind-up mission. If this doesn’t happen I will be having a nice cuban and whiskey tonight to celebrate.

last time I checked Pep was regarded as one of the best managers in the World and probably the history of the game - not a bad person to lean on for advice for Kompany.

So we have a shortlist of three with no slaven bilic on it and you want him to manage our club? Leave it to PACE and Co to decide. Think it could be a good appointment but who knows. Would you have chosen Dyche?
