How could Pep be crap in Europe? The guy has won the Champions League twice.
The discussion has always been can he do it without the likes of Messi, Xavi etc.
At present no he can't and he's currently the 2nd highest spending manager of all time, just behind Jose until this summer probably, and both are on 2 CL trophies, but 1 behind Zidane, Ancelotti and Paisley.

Not sure about that, they've battered Madrid/PSG in previous seasons, I thought they battered them over 2 legs this season too. I think Liverpool are the 2nd best side in the world, City's reserves almost beat them in the semi final at Wembley.
Nope, you're wrong there. I've checked the two teams playing in the final, and Man City can't have battered Real Madrid because Real Madrid are there.
I'm not denying that City's goalkeeper played better passes than Real's. I'm more than happy to concede that Ederson gave an absolute masterclass in passing that Courtois could only stand back and admire. It's just a shame that when it came to the other function of goalkeepers, that of stopping the ball from entering the net, Real performed that trivial function a little better than City did.

And level with Clough. I wonder which is harder - winning the CL twice with Barcelona, or winning it twice with Nottingham Forest? Clue - no-one else has done it with Forest.

i’m expecting Vincent to be planning his summer transfers and talking to some of the players before they go on holiday. The legal confirmation may take time but if it is virtually done and dusted I would expect him to be cracking on. Things can still go wrong but I would consider that unlikely now.

Maloney would be a decent appointment. Knows the league, was assistant to Martinez at Belgium and sounds like a better coach than manager.

As manager, players and staff hated him, he went above his station and hired his own PA and had a huge bust up with the chairman in front of all the players. He wasn’t there long. Bad apple

Why would Dundee be after hiring him as manager then? (not saying that's incredible btw just that it's surprising he'd be in another job so soon after).

Has anybody seen any evidence at all that Kompany is interested in the BURNLEY job? A lot of press and media talk, but heard nothing from him, his agent, the club etc.
Has he been seen anywhere near Alan Pace or the Turf at all?

Most people see Kompany as an exciting appointment but as soon as an article says he wants Maloney for his coach the knives are out.
Kompany has been coached by him at very high international level. If he considers him good enough that will do for me.

I think Kompany would be great. He certainly knows how to win and with his connections to City, he might be able to bring in a few players from there. (On loan at least.)
Meanwhile, I belive that the 'Horse botherers' are looking to bring in Klopp's younger brother, Klipperty.

I'm guessing this is what is holding the confirmation and announcement up, he will want to speak to the players and especially the group he wishes to keep, there will be 3 or 4 of the ooc, and 3 or 4 of the one's being touted for moves, and obviously I'd guess this is what he'll want to build he's team around, plus a hand full of free transfers, and possibly 1 or 2 may be persuaded to follow him from anderlecht, this plus the ones still in contract, loans from city and 2 or 3 maybe from our u18/23s and we'll be ready to go, doom and gloom lifted, assault on the championship, hopefully.

Probably agent to club negotiators at present.
The key will be when the chairman and the new manager are seen in each other's Kompany!

Not sure about Buchan, but Waddle had zilch experience of being a manager, you cannot say that about Kompany

Burnley FC operate on East Lancs time, its sorted very slowly. Frustrating for those expecting instant news. When we moved to Nelson we realised the shop opening and closing times had little basis in reality.Sometimes they never opened at all.

Well the fact that Kompany has left Anderlecht would suggest he's got another position lined up, and all the talk in the press is mentioning him coming to Burnley.
So if he doesn't arrive there's going to be plenty of folk in the media with red faces.
I understand we're all eager for news, but these appointments often take time to finalise.

Various good sources (Romano, the chap from the Mirror, Nicolo Schira etc) have said Kompany has been speaking to us for quite a while, and CT even said on here he had interviewed a while ago too. It seems to have been brewing for ages. Too much smoke at this point, and then (as tiger has said above) the fact Kompany has physically quit his job...

No he wants Bilic, but I'm not even sure if Bilic has been approached, or if he's even interested in a return to England.
Kompany is a risk, but that applies to any managerial appointment, and I'd rather we went down a different route than the usual suspects.
What's the point of potting Dyche if we're just going to appoint a Dyche clone, we need a complete fresh mindset, and hopefully that's what VK will bring to the table, along with his contacts and modern thinking.

Hopefully something in it

Both came straight out of playing into managing Burnley.
So no management experience whatsoever.
Buchan lasted what, 3 months?
Waddle lasted a season, and what a season that was.
Anderlecht have finished third in the top Belgian division. He's been there a while.

Regarding Anderlecht I think his contract came to an end and there was talk of the club not giving him a new one. So he could have left without having a club lined up. That said, I still think he will join us
