Hmmmm interesting, seems a strange move from Anderlecht if that’s the case. Would they have not been better just waiting for us to pay the compo?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 8:01 pmEverything I've read states it was a genuine parting of mutual consent.

I listened to a thing on the radio with a European football expert.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 8:04 pmHmmmm interesting, seems a strange move from Anderlecht if that’s the case. Would they have not been better just waiting for us to pay the compo?
I think they'd just reached the end of their time together, Anderlecht wanted to try someone new and he wanted to relocate back to England plus he wasn't happy with some of the stuff going on at Anderlecht (I can't remember the exact details) so both parties decided on an amicable separation.
The expert said it's one of the few actual mutual consents in football, there's no bitterness on either side at all.
He's always been held in high regard at Anderlecht and that hasn't changed.

Re: Name the next manager
We just need to get it announced. It’s either done or not by now. Reports were last Thursday that it was agreed and done. We’re heading into Tuesday. Let’s hope we aren’t mucking around just to find a good media day to announce.

I don’t think waiting for a media day to announce would scupper the deal, surely the deal would be signed before any of that nonsense is dealt with.
Chris Boden was merely speculating. It could be that nothing had changed.

Re: Name the next manager
Unconcerned whether Kompany is appointed, or not.
If he feels he’s got a “better” offer elsewhere then that’s his choice.
In that instance I’d think he’d have missed a real opportunity.
If he is genuinely excited about heading up a national institution then he’d be very welcome.
If the motivation is based on our location, family home and generous salary then I’d be very, very cautious.

I like the idea of Kompany, but whether it’s him or not we need to get a wriggle on. The new season will be here in no time.

It’s being reported quite heavily in German press that he is in talks with Gladbach, alongside the news of Favre deciding not to go there.

The BM news might explain the delay? Possibly also in discussions with them now?
No idea what’s going on but the delay suggests it wasn’t as advanced as we thought.

Would prefer Farke or Corberan. Think Kompany is far too hyped up and expensive based on his managerial ‘achievements’ to date.

Agree 100% Kompany either wants the gig or he doesn't, but either way we need an definite resolution this week, and a gaffer appointed ASAP, already other Championship clubs are conducting business, well we sit on the side lines waiting,Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 8:14 pmLess than three weeks to pre season. One thing is for sure, they wouldn’t be matching that £2.5m a year he’s supposed to be getting with us, nor will his wife be close to her family.

Re: Name the next manager
I’ve got an article ready but no scarf holding pic to use as yet. Can only repeat what I posted earlier that there was not likely to be any news today but nothing to suggest any hitch.bobinho wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 7:28 pmProbably the same people who were worried about the Orsic signing taking forever... To be fair tho I don’t see any panicking yet…. Just a few who are naturally a little worried as to whether it’s really IS happening, what with all the rumours and “good sources” telling us one thing day after day, and the lack of a press conference telling us something else.
As Burnley fans, they would be absolutely justified in believing nothing until CT sticks the article on here with the obligatory foto of him holding our scarf aloft.
I’ve no idea when anything will be announced. Hard to believe it’s now eight days since the season ended and there hasn’t been a dicky bird from the club other than the kit clearance.

Re: Name the next manager
100% agree. At the moment we don’t have a manager, don’t have a team captain, 11 fit first team players and pre season starts in less than three weeks.
This needs sorting asap.
Re: Name the next manager
I don’t think anyone will pay him that kind money except us. Three years in management. Not won anything as a manager yet. £2.5m a year ?? It was daft throwing the money and that long new contract at Dyche but at least he had achieved things in management (and with us).

Just because we haven't announced anything doesn't mean we are sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. The most likely thing is we are simply waiting for work permit clearance for him and his backroom staff. It very much sounds like he is planning pre season and new signings whilst we wait for that to happen.

For all those supposedly in the know, sadly none of them are anymore. No problems with Kompany, now more and more outlets linking him elsewhere. Mee had agreed weeks ago on a contract, no announcement still.

Let's hope that is the case, but the silence from the club is deafening, and the longer this goes without anything official being announced, the more concerned fans will naturally become.eastcoastclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:05 pmJust because we haven't announced anything doesn't mean we are sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. Re: Name the next manager
The £2.5m salary is obviously a very good salary but this is an already extremely wealthy man. As good a job as we all, correctly, believe Burnley is - maybe he fancies managing in the top league of a country, in front of huge crowds, with a chance of qualifying for Europe. I'd be keen on him coming to Burnley but it does make you think there's a twist or a turn happening...
