Name the next manager
Re: Name the next manager
Utterly appalled at the disrespect this thread is being shown. ‘Abhorrent’?! This is an UpTheClarets classic! Long may it reign at the top of the forum.

(a) that they're on holiday in Spain, only to be found posting from a Burnley IP address
(b) that they're a solicitor, when in reality they've just read a few legal books to pass the time inside

It was ksrclaret that mentioned the fantasist spanish poster from Rossendale

How dare you imply the thread is being disrespected it has yet to earn any respect beyond the basic level of courtesy respect all threads receive and saying otherwise disrespects the earned respect of respected threads.

I don’t think people can make it to next week, which seems the most likely outcome right nowBuryClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:20 pmWe’re collectively losing our minds. When are Burnley going to do something?

I think the plan was always to get the fans turning on each other in the hope we'd miss Alan Pardew holding up the scarf next week.BuryClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:20 pmWe’re collectively losing our minds. When are Burnley going to do something?

Steven Defour posted some holiday snaps the other day from his terrace. I did not see any other familiar faces; they were probably all in the apartment p!ssing themselves laughing at this thread while waiting for their BBQ

I can assure you I have not been embarrassingly pretending anything. I’ve posted what I’ve believed to be the case at the times I’ve posted anything. 1. Kompany will be our next manager
2. The only delay is work permit(s) - possibly not just with Kompany, but it might be more down to his staff
3. Burnley FC are 99% confident that this is simply dotting the I's and crossing the T's and so are already going ahead with transfer targets

Only concern for me is Conte, Rangnick and Ten Hag were announced ‘subject to work permit approval’. Basically they announced them knowing the work permit would be a formality. I find it a bit weird that we wouldn’t do the same IF it’s at that point.

Re: Name the next manager
I think everyone wants to believe the appointment is in progress, however our history with transfer rumours in particular, where it appears almost certain that we have signed someone, to then in a few days time hear it fell through, is denting confidence the longer this goes on. What adds to the frustration and suspense is the fact he appears to be a good choice as an up and coming bright manager

Exactly - the fact that’s not happened says to me there is more to sort than just a formality/red tape.RVclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 6:17 pmThis is my take too.

I have nothing to base that on I hasten to add, it’s just common sense from a PR perspective I’d have thought.

Re: Name the next manager
This has to be one of the longest drawn out periods of time when we've been managerless. Certainly in my time watching us which is close to 40 years.
Re: Name the next manager
We've had it worse though, like the time we instantly appointed Brian Laws.

Re: Name the next manager
If you are waiting on a government department to rubber stamp something quickly you will be disappointed. Most workers are sat at home hiding behind Covid. There is no rush to do anything and being commercial is alien to them. Nobody is answerable to anybody and there is a general slackness imo since Covid. They still get paid the same so why should they rush. Weeks should be the expectation with this ( if visa related) and not days.

I would assume the reason is that the club no longer values keeping fans informed, unlike the other clubs mentioned.RVclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 6:17 pmThis is my take too.

Re: Name the next manager
Fancy, calling fellow supporters absolute melts for being concerned over the time it is taking to appoint a new manager?
How nice. I hope for your sake it is Kompany otherwise you will be looking a bit foolish.
Re: Name the next manager
Don’t really agree. If it was ‘announceable’ I’m sure it would have been done by now. With all the negative press since relegation I’m sure Pace would love a huge positive spin on the club.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 7:53 pmI would assume the reason is that the club no longer values keeping fans informed, unlike the other clubs mentioned.

Re: Name the next manager
No idea what's happening with Kompany, but given we're now in a holiday weekend, I doubt we'll hear anything official until Monday at the earliest.
Hopefully in the meantime he's working away on potential signings .

I got this sent last Tuesday from a mate claiming it was VK leaving Burnley. It could be a stock photo, I got 6/4 at BetVictor straight away and the price was smashed in afterwards everywhere and most betting sites stopped offering odds afterwards.
