Someone has put £10 on Vincent then
Re: Name the next manager
Done an excellent job with Anderlecht this season, I'd have him here in a flash, developed some top youngsters this season.
Sergio Gomez, ex Dortmund left back 21 year old.
Verschaeren is gonna be a superstar in midfield, 20 year old Belgian kid.
Zirkzee 20 year old on loan from Bayern, plays upfront.
I was a big fan of Doku and mentioned him on here years ago, he's since left and another that caught my eye back then was Amuzu, he's progressed well this season.
El Hadj tricky teenager plays left wing.

Re: Name the next manager
Would love Kompany. Big enough name for the owners, seems to be doing well with Anderlecht and if we do go down he would hopefully be able to bring in a couple of loan players off Pep.

Re: Name the next manager
Some interesting names on that list, for me anyone but BFS he'd be a terrible appointment.
The others all fit the younger model we should go down, Wilder I don't think will come as he's starting to build something at Boro.
Rooney could become available if or more likely when Derby's relegation is confirmed.
Kompany would be a risk, but a similar appointment to Vieira at Palace, and that's worked out fine for them hasn't it.
Benitez-no, Duff-no not now, and Unsworth definitely no he'd be a loose cannon, when what we need is a calm head.

I’d be very happy if we appointed Kompany.
Mind you - I’d be even more surprised!

Re: Name the next manager
Kompany is either missing Manchester, or some guy has had a dream that makes him think Kompany will be the next Burnley manager or he is in the know.
If Kompany is a realistic option I would love him here. Kompany is a winner. As a former captain he should have good man management skills. He has contacts and apparently a good eye for a player.

TBH - he knows as much, or as little, as anyone else whose posts have been on here.

13/2 with Willhill about half an hour ago. Doesn’t seem to be in the list currently though.

Christ, imagine if Craig Bellamy became a member of our staff. We've just got rid of one youth team bully, we probably don't want another!

I'd hope if Craig Bellamy was going to join us as a coach he'd be smart enough to not get immediately punished by the FA for breaking their gambling rules.

IF true about Kompany and Bellamy then what is the link between the two of them?
How does Kompany know about Bellamy and his coaching skills?

Re: Name the next manager
Kompany said via Belgian outlet HLN : "Craig was a unique coach and person for us. He has been very important to us in the development of guys like [Jeremy] Doku, [Yari] Verschaeren, [Albert] Sambi [Lokonga], and so on.
"But now the monster of the depression is there again," he sadly stated. "We need to give Craig time to make a full recovery. He set himself a date and did not meet it. Health is above football. Our door will always be open to him."

Watching Sky Championship coverage today and after Chris Wilder was interviewed, I think it’s Prutton who mentioned that he has been linked with Burnley?
Michael Gray advised him that he was better staying put. Charming!

Re: Name the next manager
I'd love Kompany to come to us. He's done a good job at Anderlecht and has all the right connections. Citeh didn't want to lose him, and he was offered various roles, but he wanted to plough his own field, so to speak. He's on excellent terms with Citeh and its owners, so this would also be a boon.
I think I'll cry if BSA rocks up at our club.

Diego Martinez, saw his name mentioned but not someone I know anything about.

Seeing Kompany shoot up the odds, adn reading about him, I want him.

Re: Name the next manager
So you were wrong when you said he had no experience.ClaretMov wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:35 amYou are missing my point, some fan's want a well known manager with plenty of experience because some have moaned about the possibility of appointing Duff, I was pointing out that Dyche had neither when we he was given the job at Burnley, and sometimes taking a risk can pay off
On that great run you say he had at the end of the season, he won 1 from his last 6 games and won just 3 more games in total in the second half of the the season compared to the first
Re: Name the next manager
I have zero knowledge / insight to who is coming in (except I know it’s not Grayson) but the Kompany link is very interesting and they are playing in the Belgium Cup final today (I think) so you’d imagine any announcement would have been held off until after that. Therefore the next day or so would be key if it is him. I just can’t see why he would want to leave a club the size of Anderlecht to join a soon to be championship team (unless he’s been pushed out by them for not being top)

… and is one I really do not understand. His team plays football, but he spent a decent chunk on Norwich this season… and that went well. Strange to me that anyone would hope for that one.
