Neither the CL doesn't interest me, and I don't have BT Sport anyway, so I'll be catching up on a box set.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 7:58 pmWhat's everyone watching?

Suspect both English clubs will make it through to the last 4 though, which if they did means 2 English, and 2 Spanish sides in the semi-finals, so much for the death of La Liga.

Atletico starting the anti-football early. Felipe deliberately going in to hurt Foden by shoulder barging his head...

Was a bad 'un on Foden.
They can be cynical but wouldn't call AM anti football though. They look pretty good.
Decent game, do faf.

I’ve gone for Atlético v Man City on the basis that I thought the result was all but decided in the other

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Watching City play these is no different to watching our game against them. They dominate teams.
The bit we are missing from previous seasons is that quick break. Virtually no-one with pace anymore in our team

Can't help wondering if AM will end up with 11 on at the end.

OK first half.
Still time for it to get memorable.

Well if Foden is hurt they can always bring on their £100 million substitute.Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 8:15 pmAtletico starting the anti-football early. Felipe deliberately going in to hurt Foden by shoulder barging his head...

Those flags look good on tv.
I'd bloody well hate to have watch a match from behind one though.

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
I reckon (100% certain) Foden was hacked down off the ball and Felipe should have had his 2nd red of the game
Atletico played some superb football at times. But their behaviour was an utter embarrassment.
Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Felipe is an absolute embarrassment. Proper bizarre team Athletico.

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Nice to see City playing Atletico at their own game in that last 10 minutes, totally brought that on themselves. I think Atletico looked very likely to equalise but reverted to type and spoiled the game. Horrible team.

The studio ref Peter Walton said he was watching a clear head butt by Savic, so why wasn't he sent off?

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
I’m surprised at this general consensus on here. Athletico Madrid do ****-housery like Burnley on steroids or at least how we used to be.
I was more impressed that City responded with ****-housery instead of folding under the pressure.
It’s like Ashley Barnes vs Paul Dickov argument. The former is one my Clarets heroes and the latter? I could see him next Tuesday

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
He slid in to tackle with his right foot and when Foden stayed upright he hacked his calf with his left. Should have been a straight red not a second yellow. In all the total Ahole should have had a red for the first assault on Foden, the correct yellow, a red for the second hack at Foden and a red for the verbals he gave the ref after seeing red.Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 10:04 pmI reckon (100% certain) Foden was hacked down off the ball and Felipe should have had his 2nd red of the game

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Just on last night's game.. have we all come round to accepting John Stones is England's best centre half by a country mile now?
Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Absolutely. He was outstanding. Both defensively and very calm in possession.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 9:26 amJust on last night's game.. have we all come round to accepting John Stones is England's best centre half by a country mile now?

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
I chose Liverpool v Benfica so got 6 goals. Then switched over at the end to watch all the aggro over in Madrid. Sure there will be repercussions over this. Or at least there would be if an English team behaved in the way the Spaniards did last night.

Re: TONIGHTS GAMES
Watched the City match and was appalled at the antics of Athletico Madrid. They targeted Foden and how that assault which left him with a head wound was not a red card I do not know. The match was crying out for a rule change from UEFA so that any player questioning a decision from the ref would automatically result in the free kick being moved upfield by ten yards. It works great in rugby union and would have prevented the mass "in your face" protests that the ref was subjected to throughout.
If that is football at the highest level, then you can shove it "where the sun don't shine!"
