Let's hope Mr Pace isn't fancying a pint anywhere in Burnley Town Centre tonight. I would fear for his life!
Thanks for everything Sean... You'll always be a true Legend at Burnley Football Club!

Thank you Sean.
You deserved better treatment from both sets of owners, but especially the Yanks. They promised increased funds, and spent less than every season prior to the takeover talks starting. Sold you and the club up the river, with the club's own money no less.
You've been the best manager I've seen in my lifetime, ahieved more than I ever thought possible when I started supporting Burnley- simply reaching the Premier League would have been a dream, and we've had multiple multi-cap England internationals, a European qualification, a Championship title and years of top flight success.
I sincerely hope this proves to be the right decision and we rally & survive, but I would be astonished if it is. Thanks Sean.

Brought back our self esteem and pride, no better manager to get us up or to pull off another miracle, it feels like a bereavement.
All the best Sean. Thank you.

Re: Thank you, Sean
There is something deeply unedifying about the 'elites' of @premierleague - in that world Mr. Dyche brought success to Burnley on field, transformed it off-field & gave hope, inspiration & joy to fans & the people of a town that doesn't fit the 'elite' mould. He and his staff have been hugely instrumental in our success as a club - I would have liked to see them take our club forward. A huge thank you to Sean Dyche and staff for all they've done. #OnceAClaretAlwaysAClaret #UTC

Substitute 1967 for 1976 and this is me. I never thought I would see us in the Premier League, and then I never thought I would see us pay it anything other than a fleeting visit. He has worked a miracle over the last decade....just look at our natural peer Group of Lancashire town clubs : B'stards, PNE, Bolton, Blackpool ....what would their fans give to have had our last decade. I feel numb that he has gone tbh. Thank you Sean Dyche.lewishamclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:52 amI’ve been watching Burnley since 1976. 35 years since watching my first Burnley game.
Sean Dyche has given me (and thousands of others) things a Burnley fan could only dream of.
For that I am and will always be truly thankful.

It's an awful way to end an era. Dyche shouldve been carried around the pitch by the fans as a fitting tribute to a decade most of us didn't dare to dream about.
Irrespective of whether this had to happen Sean having to leave via the back door is heinous act on the part of ALK and Mr Pace.
They need to earn respect here and they've a long way to go to do that still.

It won’t be long before Sean gets a new job and his next visit will be as a visiting manager and we all look on as the manager with some money plays us of the park. Does everyone remember when he brought Watford to Turf as a new manager and they we’re narrowly defeated, then in the return fixture they totally outplayed us.

With 8 games to go and a mountain to climb it's a completely pointless sacking. The best thing to do by far would have been to wait until relegation was confirmed (probably before the last day I suspect) and then, if ALK were determined to sack him, announce he would be leaving after the final game. That way we could have applauded him from the field and truly shown our appreciation for all he's done. The timing of this whole thing is completely bizarre imo.

Thanks for some great memories-the best since the early sixties.Take a well earned rest, lose the monkey on your back, and give thought to not only the great times, but be analytical with yourself. Where could you have changed and been more open minded-formations, tactics, loyalty to certain players, stubborness on issues like the loan market, not pushing for new players. Do this and you will come back as almost the complete manager with a long future in the PL.

Absolutely gutted. Lost for words. Sean Dyche just “got”everything about Burnley and achieved more than anybody could ever have imagined. The football was starting to get stale and maybe a change was on the cards in the near future, but for it to have to come in this manner is shocking. A 50-word statement on the club website. Sickening. He didn’t deserve that.
Thank you, Sean, and your team for the most incredible nine and a half years. I think it’s going to be a long time until we witness the level of success that you brought again.

Thank you Sean, for an unbelievable tenure I never thought possible as a child of the Stan era.
As for ALK, and Alan "Sean has a job for life" Pace, I should have known the writings were on the wall when Jon Pepper was kicked aside for one of their boys. We're merely a financial investment gone wrong at this stage. Loyalty has no place in business.

Re: Thank you, Sean
Some of my very best memories in life, let alone at the football, have come from following Sean Dyche's Burnley around. His sides were the most committed I've seen. For that I'll always be grateful to him and for the overall job he's done at my club.
I won't pretend I didn't have issues with how we played, but that's not for this thread.
Thanks Sean and the very best of luck.

Sean Dyche, thank you for your time as Burnley Football Club manager. We've had some great times, enjoyed some special players in Claret and Blue and played at a level we thought, for so long, was beyond the club's reach.
Enjoy your break. I'd be happy to watch Burnley playing another team you are managing in the Premier League in future seasons.
Until the, Come on you Clarets.

Re: Thank you, Sean
He’s done a brilliant job. Who could forget Proudsville? I remember him saying that he didn’t see himself as a manager forever and from a personal point of view Burnley turned out to be something of a cul de sac. He was close to a miracle worker for a number of years but latterly, as so many have said, it had all gone stale. It is a roller coaster following Burnley and we are just about to hurtle downwards thanks to our utterly clueless owners …..but we will be back one day.

& we wasn't nailed on for relegation before, Everton kept the spirits up briefly until the canaries came along & bounced us back into reality we was sinking faster than a block of lead, it makes no odds anyhow because it's been left far too late for somebody to come in & reverse the damage I think.SussexDon1inIreland wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 11:24 amGutted

Re: Thank you, Sean
I was texted the news by a gloating Rovers fan. I have supported Burnley for close on 70 years and have seen everything from us being Champions of England to the Orient game. I moved to America in 2008 and Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be watching The Clarets live in the PL on American TV
Sean Dyche and Harry Potts have been the outstanding managers during my lifetime. I know Sean will take that as a huge compliment which it is.
Take a few minutes and look back to when Sean was appointed. From that day on everything changed. Take a look at the stadium. Take a look at Gawthorpe. Look at who we have beaten. Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd away all beaten. Oh yea and the 35 year wait !! Records broken were too numerous to mention
And then Mr Pace arrived leveraged buy out and all. And today it all went boom. When Rovers fans are celebrating we know we are in big trouble
Beginning of the end in my opinion. Hope I’m wrong.
Thanks for everything Sean. Good luck for the rest of your life. I will never forget what you have done for our club.
As for you Mr Pace I can only hope you can understand what you have done. If sacking Sean proves to be wrong then you will never be forgiven. If it proves to be the right call you might still never be forgiven. I still remember Bob Lord selling Jimmy Mac !!!

Yes thank you Sean. I remember being very surprised when you were offered the job and thinking that this appointment was destined to fail. How wrong I was.
To be fair it had become stale of late and watching Burnley was becoming a chore. However, you have been our best manager for donkeys years and deserved a better exit than this. On the plus side, spend/invest your multi million pounds pay off wisely and all the best for the future.

Probably a unique situation where the manager suits a patient hierarchy running a club on a shoestring to get the absolute best, and beyond, of the players to be able to obtain and maintain premier league football.
I am not sure if Sean or his team would ever read this but if you do then I would like to thank him for all of the incredible times.

I will offer him my thanks for what he has done for Burnley FC over the last 10 years. I believe his time had come to leave but as many have said it's quite a bizarre ending.
Falling out with two sets of owners is a sad ending, it should have been more akin to Stans farewell with a tear in Sean's and the fan's eyes.

Thank you Sean for your gargantuan efforts on our behalf whilst we've been in and out of the Prem .Given the resources you were given I think it was nothing less than a miracle .I thought we were going to go down this year but believed that with you at the helm we would bounce back again .I wish you all the best...class will out .
To Pace et al...what kind of decision is that ? You have heaped unbelievable pressure on Sean's successors for the last eight games .you have made it almost certain that our best players will want nothing more to do with you come the end of the season .you have cost us millions having granted Sean a four year deal so recently .
I'm old enough to remember how badly I felt when Lord transferred Jimmy M in the 60s and this is on a par..if not worse.
Why gamble now ?

Thank you Sean for being not just a great manager, but an inspiration to the players, the club and the fans.
The work ethic that was introduced coupled with the honesty in the way the players played was something that made me very proud to be a claret.
None of our players were diving, cheating fancy Dans, like most of the premier league is nowadays and for that, we can thank Sean alone.
Downhill all the way from here I fear. This is not the way Burnley have done things in my time as a claret.
