Did anyone seriously think we would get something from the game on Sunday before todays news? After the Norwich display I was wondering if we would pick up another point from the next eight games. Remember, things were not going great.

I expected us to lose before and I do now. I think we have a very slightly better chance of not losing. It wasn’t working and the football was dire.

Yep. I’m absolutely gutted Dyche has gone, but let’s not pretend our chances on Sunday have materially changed in either direction.

It will be interesting to see if there is a massive jump in performance, if so, you know the players have got him out

I can just see us playing the same way that we would of done had SD still been in charge. Can’t see Mee and the who ever else is in the dug out changing much.
The starting line up will tell you come Sunday, fully expect either 4-4–2 or 4-5-1 and almost feels like just get the game done with as much bigger things going on.

The home game vs Southampton could be very interesting.

According to many on here Ben Mee is the great leader on the pitch that we have been missing.

Now, he has the opportunity to show leadership and have some input from the bench.

But, let's all get real we have a solitary win to show thus far from 15 road trips all with Dyche at the helm.

I just cannot believe, maybe naively that a team getting paid for representing Burnley would never give 100% in every game.

At least our best midfielder might finally get a game.

I don’t think we have a bad record in games with a caretaker manager so we might be ok

Possibly our chances have marginally increased, depends how the squad react to the news, plus West Ham had a tough European game only a few days ago, and just maybe their thoughts will be on winning the EL now, still think it'll be tough to get anything from our trip to London, but as others have rightly commented the attitude of the players will be interesting to witness.

Oh ye of little faith. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we will at least get a
draw on Sunday, especially now that the shackles will have, in all probability, been
taken off certain players to some extent and we could see some playing their natural game.

Who knows what will develop from that.

May I say though, thank you Sean for everything you have done for the club, the town, the fans
and the long lasting legacy of Gawthorpe. (Barnfield) and I wish you nothing but success in whatever
lay ahead of you in the rest of your career.

Declined. Significantly.
I hope I’m wrong, but I’m expecting a pasting. (Originally typed hammering without thinking!)
I would love to be proved wrong, but I’m anticipating a team which will resemble a rudderless ship.

Bilic

Post by It Is What It Is » Sat Apr 16, 2022 1:46 pm

Our style of Play sucks.
Let's be honest, the past few seasons our rigid 442 has been well and truly found out and our style of play has been woeful to watch. The chances of a shot on target in 90 mins is minimal, never mind putting the ball in the net.
Sean Dyche has done more for this club since Potts and it has been an incredible journey. Thanks Sean.

But...we now have a squad of old age out of contract players, time for fresh start, new young blood and new ideas.
Bilic for me.

For some possibly strange reason I am looking forward to tomorrow’s game, which is something I haven’t done for a long time.

Hi Vino B, I don't think it strange, changes are happening at the club and that will always make the game one to look forward to.

I've got covid-19 this week. I cancelled my ticket knowing I wouldn't be going. I wish I could be at the game, now. However, my body (and covid-19) says "meh."

Hard to tell really. If the issue has been Dyche forcing players out of their natural game and players not wanting to play for him then we might see a bit of spirit and maybe a result.

But we have raised our game against better sides already this season - even since Huddersfield - its been games against sides who are around us where we have struggled.

As others have said the Southampton game is the interesting one.
