Honestly reckon double figures would be well within his reach in the Championship.

Maybe the new guy won’t stick him up front and smash balls up to his head being five foot nothing against six footers that would be a start!

How has that got anything to do with us?
Christ on a bike but some of you are so focused on the negative side of life. Your wife/husband must’ve been happy they chose you.

The owners took the only option that was available to them. I’m doing so they’ve shown good positive management and have BFC at the fore of their thinking.

Sorry but none of that explains how debt isn't a bad thing in our situation.Blakesboots wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:58 pmAsk Chester, he’s clearly explained the whole deal. We will know a lot more in two weeks time.
We’re not a badly run club. Dyche made his own bed with this situation. Woan made his own bed and has to deal with that.

Why would I repeat something that’s been discussed, at length for the last 18 months. If you’ve not grasped it yet then I don’t have the skills nor ability to add anything that you can’t find already mentioned on the various financial threads.

Re: Vydra
Debt is only useful if it is being used to grow the business. Paying £60 million to former owners leveraged on club assets is not good use of an asset.
And I say £60 million but its likely a lot more.

That’s actually very true , but if ALK don’t make their 3rd payment ( they defaulted and rescheduled the 2nd) and let’s bear in mind they’ve not attracted anything like the investment they expected . The club ( if relegated ) reverts back to Garlick and we’d have zero cash and threadbare assets ( Pope/Cornet/)
Though if somehow we survive then I’m all in with Pace

Not true. You can borrow at 2% but invest and see a 6% return. You’re now 4% up. Pretty standard practice.
People love to boast they’ve paid their mortgage off, but that’s dead(ish) money. Granted your house price will go up making you money. Yet if you released the equity and bought two terraced houses and rented them you pay your own mortgage and now have two further houses that appreciate along with your initial house.
Two simple examples of good debt.

Until the market crashes as it will inevitably at one point. The world economy is heading for a period not seen since the 1930’s a period of optimism, followed by mass suicide as speculators lost their shirts over night in the crash.Blakesboots wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 10:10 pm

I’d agree if you’re looking at the markets to make your money.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 10:15 pmUntil the market crashes as it will inevitably at one point. Invest in copper. It’s this generations gold.
In an island nation, the saying nowt as safe as houses is a fair statement.
10 year fixed rate mortgages are there for all to use; I’d rather pay 2.65% and know I’m the master of my own destiny than 1% and be bricking it monthly when the 7 BOE employees make their decisions.

All relative, you need to be able to afford to speculate - that means you are speculating from a position of advantage (for whatever reason), hence the phrase ‘speculate to accumulate’ - speculation/debt on the other hand is the enemy of those who do not have such an advantage as ‘expendable cash’.Blakesboots wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 10:18 pmI’d agree if you’re looking at the markets to make your money.

Not having a go: I chose to take a mortgage hoaving been mortgage free - built up a business and was then subject to loses incurred as a result of (someone else’s freud)… the HSBC policy that was supposed to protect me, only meant there was no chance of me covering my mortgage -it caused a breakdown and I lost my house… THAT COULD NOT HAPPEN WITOUT THE DEBT

I agree it’s relative, so it can be looked at positively and negatively. Depends what you have for breakfast I suppose! Lots of people seem to have lemons on here!
Looking forward to the accounts being published, and more able people than I offering their opinions.
