How many times have we given the ball away needlessly here though? Endlessly putting ourselves under immense pressure.

Re: No match thread from me today.
Don't think Cornet should take. With a proper manager that would have been sorted. Pace owns that miss to an extent.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 4:05 pmCareful, some people don't like it when you point out the bad refereeing decisions we've had against us which VAR ignores, or the simple misses or defensive mistakes which have cost us. Those are apparently making excuses.
With the VAR decision, it is Cornet who pauses mid-run up hence the players in the box and the keeper off the line. There are rules about a stutter run up.

How many times does Brownhill wanna give the ball away needlessly?

Don't deserve anything from the game if we can't even get a cross past the first man.

Full time.
Would have taken a point before the game, but could have been so much more.

A bonus point - if we win on Thursday. Two points lost if we don’t.

Point a fair result in the end. Masterclass from Pope making up for others who should have buried their chances.

Disappointed not to win, but it's a solid point and stops the rot. Glad Wout back on score sheet. I hope the Turf is noisy in the right way next up. The boys need the crowd. UTC

After the week we’ve had a point at West Ham is an amazing performance by the Clarets, I really don’t know what some of you want of our club. Well done Burnley, unlucky not to win, another point to survival.

Re: No match thread from me today.
Good point, more than I expected. Also not enough.
Same as all season really.
Same pros as ever- Battled hard, moments of brilliance, couple of good chances wasted.
Same cons as ever- caught open far too easily in midfield, far too wasteful with the ball in the middle & final third, defence too easily stretched on the counter forcing Pope to pull off big stops to save us, Cornet for all his quality continues to fit the definition of 'mercurial player'.
We've got 1 point more than I thought we would have by now at this time Friday though. So I guess 1 point above expectations, is above expectations.
Priorities now turn to- who the hell is the new manager, and what is the extent & prognosis of Westwood's injury.

Re: No match thread from me today.
Considering what has gone on this week, that is a very good point
Course, there is a penalty miss in there but all in all, a good point
And we have to back it up with a good performance on Thursday
But pleased with that I have to be honest

Re: No match thread from me today.
How this weeks events have affected things we will never be sure but sleeves were rolled up today which is more than can be said at Norwich
Re: No match thread from me today.
On the flip side, If we were just 3 points ahead with 8 games to go how many on here would be very confident of surviving?

Can’t understand settling for point at the end. We need 4 wins by the end of the season and games are running out.

Re: No match thread from me today.
Let's be honest most of the football world was predicting against us today. Everyone thought we would collapse without Dyche, so well done to the lads on the pitch and those running the team to get something out of this match.
Re: No match thread from me today.
Considering the first goal scorer and result guesses on the board prior to the game most of us thought it would be a defeat and a heavy one at that, therefore it is a vital point and a good solid confidence boosting performance.

Re: No match thread from me today.
At least we tried to play it on the deck more today, but we still need a new midfield urgently. We simply give the ball away too much which puts us under needless pressure. Also, Cornet needs a bollocking for taking that penalty, that’s Jayrod’s job. Pope has just added another £10 million to his move away, what a great performance from him.

Re: No match thread from me today.
You would normally expect no points at West Ham, but well done Jackson and Mee for getting the team ready for this and the performance. Maybe only one point (maybe 3 with the pen), but sounds like some huge positives from this game to build on. I think I am right in saying if Brownhill can survive suspension next game (the 32nd) then he does not face a ban for hitting the level of yellows

Much better!.......could/should have won. Pope MOM.
Re: No match thread from me today.
As Burnley fans we have to get behind the team and if we had been offered us a point prior to the game I would have taken it.
Yes, Max missed the penalty but it’s a valuable point and I am looking forward to Thursday

Re: No match thread from me today.
I can’t believe that Wet Spam’s goal was allowed to stand. He clearly steers it with his upper arm. But maybe under the new rules that’s allowed?

Re: No match thread from me today.
Decent point perhaps, but really should have been 3, equally I guess without Pope we wouldn't have got anything.
Feels like 2 points dropped though right now, and makes the Southampton match even more vital to bag the 3 points.
In the circumstances many more positives to take than negatives, but we do need to start turning these battling draws into narrow wins.
7 games left, and 3 wins minimum, plus maybe a couple of draws required, on that showing, and with the teams we've got to play not out of the question, but we could do with Everton stumbling during their tough run-in.

Re: No match thread from me today.
I think if we continue like that we can get 3 more wins. It is the minimum as you say and I think we need to remain unbeaten now to have a chance of survival
Today's performance was good and the belief is greater than it was after the Norwich game.
