Pope 9 wow
Lowton 5
Tarks 7 solid
Collins 7 solid - he’s going to be some player
Taylor 6
McNeil 6 he looked better to me today, but there was a very bad period in the second half where he looked like he was trying to give the ball away…
Westwood 6 awful injury, wish him all the best.
Cork 7 gets us ticking and links up with the forwards.
Cornet 6 would have been a class performance if he’d scored that ******* penalty… Urrrghhhhh
Weghorst 7 good again
Jay 6
Roberts 7 did well imo
Brownhill 5

Pope 9 some fantastic saves
Lowton 5 can't split our rights backs but neither are good enough
Taylor 6 ok
Tarkowski 7 played well and great awareness to pull out of the challenge on Antonio to avoid a certain pen
Collins 6 good defensively but doesn't look confident on the ball
Cornet 4 no good when has time to think and I'm not referring to the penalty. Don't even get me started on the penalty
Mcneill 5 more miss than hit, seemed to be drawn into a more central position as the second half went on so we lost an outlet to the wing
Westwood 5 hope he's OK
Cork 7 kept the ball well and did the simple things
Jay 6 wish he took the pen
Weghorst 6 more balls Into feet and chest which suited him and got a lot more involved. Unfortunately he jumped about 6 inches off the floor for the equaliser and provided a great flick on
Brownhill 3 sorry but he's my new pet hate. Forgot the ball altogether in the build up to their goal and he can't retain possession. Effort isn't enough at this level
Roberts 4 looked nervous on the ball
Vydra 4 not sure how long he was on but little impact

This game was surprisingly there for the taking and normally a draw here would be a positive result. But we sat back far too deep second half and practically begged them to score. Last ten minutes we came out and traded blows. I fully understand protecting what you have but it was always a matter of time. Had the pen gone in, scoring two would have been a tough ask for West Ham.

Pope 9 - outstanding
Lowton 7 - difficult job against them out wide adapted well
Tarks 9 - true leader performance
Collins 8 - class
Taylor 7 - as lowton
McNeil 7 - forgot he wasn’t a left back
Westwood - started well. Won’t give a rating as more concerned that he recovers well and ok after what looked a horrendous injury.
Cork 7 - so much more calm than Brownhill.
Cornet 8 - his confidence on the ball and link up play in the first half was brilliant, him and Wout work well at times interlinking play. Don’t hold the pen against him.
Weghorst 8 - been his biggest critic but showed today what a player he can be if we play to his strengths rather than play grenade ball at him.
Jay 7 - unlucky not to score

Roberts 6 - steady
Brownhill 6 - as roberts

Pope - 9. One great save from and one world-class save. England's #1

Lowton - 6
Tarks -7
Collins -7 - more and more impressed
Taylor 6

McNeil - 7
Brownhill - 4 ball retention is so poor - and costly.
Cornet - 5- Shouldn't have been taking the penalty
Cork - 7

Weghorst - 7 - play the ball into his feet and hey presto we have some hold-up play
Jay - 6

Roberts - 6
Vydra - 7

Overall that is a terrific point away at a top 7 team. What a week we have had. What a day we have had with Westwood - and best wishes to first and foremost.
We played pretty well. Far less hoofball. Far more football.

Glass half empty - we should maybe win. I'd like to know why Jay didn't take the spot-kick.
Glass half full - we could have easily lost but for Pope. We played well overall and got something out of a very difficult picture.

If we can get Turf Moor rocking on Thursday we still have hope - the fans will be absolutely critical. Get behind them. Siege mentality. You never know.

The rule apparently is - if you win it you can take it, so Maxwel had the right to take it.

Can't mark as I haven't seen game yet, however a brilliant point at a top team and after the recent events at the Turf I'm surprised to see some really low scores.
Sum of its parts and all that.

Pope- 9 MOM. Kept us in it. Superb keeper.

Lowton- 6. Neutral performance eptomised, does what he does fine, Roberts was supposed to be the upgrade but for me he's still first choice.
Collins- 7. Moments of good defensive display, moments of being caught out. Not there yet.
Tarks- 8. Won everything in the air.
Taylor- 6. As always, decent forward play but left us looking a little exposed on the counter coupled by Cornet's attacking mindset. Controversial but while I think Taylor's the better player, I would still switch him for Pieters. Get back to the Spurs team where possible, with room for tinkering on the flanks.

McNeil- 6. Didn't really contribute much, didn't really get much wrong.
Cork- 7. Simple, sometimes overly simple in his play (I was screaming for him to shoot from distance late on instead of try to play it to Vydra) but he makes us tick over better in the centre. Glad to see him back in.
Westwood- 6. Was doing fine. Hoping for a full and swift recovery.
Brownhill- 5. Contrast to his previous performances alongside Cork where he'd ran the show, today was disappointing.
Cornet- 4. Worst performance of the season for me from him. Wins the penalty well, but then squanders it embarrassingly. Gives away the free kick for the goal. Misses a half-chance late on. Coupled with his miss at Norwich, he's really feeling like a fluky/hit & miss player. When he's good he's brilliant, when he's poor it's decisively poor.

Jay- 6. In and about up top, didn't really threaten.
Weghorst- 8. Much more like his first few games, I think Cork's more reserved & simple style actually works better with his linkup, as Cork's patient enough to play it short/encourage others to, and to trust Weghorst. Still wish he wasn't dropping quite so deep though.

Roberts- 5. Played one of theirs onside appallingly very late, lucky that didn't blow the game. He's defensively not as good as Lowton, and his forward play has disappointed. I think in time he'll be like Taylor on that flank, but he's not there yet.

That is the worst rule ever, players who win penalties should stay away from taking them

Pope 10 incredible
Lowton 7
Tark 7
Collins 7
Taylor 7
Mcneil 6
Brownhill 3 - Gave the ball away needlessly twice, one for the goal and the other for the Antonio 1v1. Struggles to complete 5 yard passes
Cork 7
Cornet 7
Weghorst 8
Rodriguez 5 thought he was poor tbh, should have scored from the corner, rushed the effort edge of the box, poor crossing and bad decision making. Not good enough

Pope 9 best shot stopping keeper in England
Lowton 6 did ok
Collins 8 will be massive player for us next season if we go down
Tarks 7 will be missed
Taylor 7 good game overall though didn’t get much chance to get forward
McNeil 6 looks better when he came inside, I would play him left midfield in a three
Westwood 6 speedy recovery to him
Cork 7 did well but tired as the game went on
Jayrod 7 some good movement and intelligent play
Weghorst 8 he can play football
Cornet 7 one off for insisting on taking pen

Brownhill 5 we need a complete new midfield
Roberts 6 not certain why he came on to be honest
Vydra 5 needs to learn to stay on his feet

Management team: did well, tried to keep the ball down and play forward and win the game, instead of trying to avoid a defeat

From TV

Pope 9
Lowton 6
Collins 8
Tarks 7 brilliant defender, can't play a long pass.
Taylor 7
McNeil 5 really don't know what has happened to him
Westwood 7
Cork 8
Cornet 8
Weghorst 8
Jay 7

Brownhill 5 on steroids
Roberts 6

That was a game we should have won, massive improvement on Dyche ball.

Pope 10 - simply outstanding
Lowton 6 - held his own
Collins 8 - strong performance against a top PL striker
Tarkowski 7 - consistently solid
Taylor 6 - struggled again closing down
McNeil 6 - final touch not there and turned attack into defence too often.
Cork 7 - didn't let the early booking detract from his willingness to compete
Cornet 8 - great energy and attacking intent
Weghorst 9 - class movement and touch , deserved a goal
Rodriguez 7 - touch not there today but always looking to get involved

Brownhill 5 - couldn't see any strength or presence
Roberts 5 - same as Brownhill . Both are more suited to the Championship

A good point makes up for a bad penalty and injury to Westwood

Pope 9 superb today
Lowton 5 never at the races
Collins 8 calm and assured
Tarks 7 solid and very alert
Taylor 7 good all round game
McNeil 5 just devoid of confidence
Cork 7 calm and neat , he’s slow but a clever player
Brownhill 6 ran around a lot
Cornet 6 (-2 pen) always a threat but that pen..
Weghorst 7 decent game with ball at feet
Jay Rod 7 unlucky not to get the goal but grafted hard

Roberts 6 lively

Despite my vocal objection to Westy starting over the past few weeks I felt sick to the absolute pit of my stomach today when I saw what happened, and although we scored in the immediate aftermath it did affect us.

It was nice as well to see us getting bodies forward in the final 3rd and not just in 1s or 2s.

I actually backed Weghorst to score today too which was nice to see and other than Pope I thought he was up there as our MOTM.

I won't castigate Max either because other than the oen he had a decent game

Anybody who rated Cornet less than six has never played football. Biggest threat by a mile

I suspect it was because he spurned the best chance to take 3 points which was by far the most important thing we needed today.

If we had played ugly shiteball for all game and scuffed a deflected 1-0 win I would have taken that over a "best pass completion since spurs" stat and a point.

Professional football is 99% about results not style

A poster gave him a 4, remarkable
Three posters gave him a 4 and another two marked him as 5. I gave him a 4 because of the penalty, the stupid challenge for the free kick which led to the goal, the shot he pulled to the right, the shot he skied over on the half volley, his weakness in challenges and his decision making. I think he often slows the game down when a break is on and tries to beat a man when we should be taking the sting out of the game. The counter to this argument is that he got into the positions to miss these chances. For a player of his so called ability that isn't good enough for me. Personally, I would call an 8 mark as remarkable but each to their own. I did my ratings straight after the game so maybe if I'd waited it could have been a 5 for the break and pull back to Jay.

Pope - 9* - great save from Antonio, superb save from Bowen, world class save from Diop - the latter is as good as you’ll see all season

Lowton - 6 - seemed a strange substitution - knock maybe?
Tarkowski - 8 - clearly not thrown the towel in - terrific
Collins - 8 - going to be a good un
Taylor - 7 - returning to form

McNeil - 6 - solid and showed signs of returning to form
Westwood - 6 - actually started pretty well, dreadful injury. Get well soon Westy
Cork - 6 - calm and composed
Cornet - 5 - oh Maxwell. Some good stuff in among but appalling penalty and gave away needless free kick for the goal. A week to forget for him

Weghorst - 7 - much more like the player of the first few games coincided with better service
Jay - 7 - calm, composed, as good a football brain as there is in the side. Why he didn’t take the penalty with his record is beyond me

Brownhill - 5 - just didn’t get into the game and so sloppy in possession
Roberts - 6 - not sure he brought anything different to the party than Lowton?

In normal circumstances a good point - particularly considering the Westwood horror injury. That said, should have gone in at half time 2 up and I think it would have been a different outcome. Onto the next one - it’s the hope that kills you…..

Anybody who rated Cornet less than six has never played football. Biggest threat by a mile
Really surprised by the low marks for Cornet.

Jeez Neil, are you sure you want to up it by so much?

Only joking, one of the beauties of watching football is the way people see it differently.

We all like to think the way we see the game should be the way everybody sees it but very definitely not the case

Pope, 10 simply outstanding.
Lowton, 6
Collins, 9 looked solid and assured
Tarks, 8
Taylor, 8
McNeil, 6 strange pass second half that set them on the attack.
Cork, 8 good game
Cornet, 6 won the penalty but worst penalty attempt I have seen for a long long time. Jay to take if we get another this season
Weghorst,8 decent goal and good link up player. I like his attitude and stomach for the fight.
Jay Rod, 7 oh how I wish he had been firm with Cornet and took the penalty. He would have smashed it past Fabianski.

Brownhill 4 I don’t wish to be unfair on the lad but he was a liability yesterday. Awful game.
Roberts, 6

Overall I was very pleased with the team spirit and togetherness yesterday which gives us some optimism for the remaining games. After that truly abject display at Norwich I definitely thought it was all over. It isn’t, just yet.

Pope 9 numerous world class saves.
Lowton 5
Collins 6
Tarks 6
Taylor 6
McNeil 7 nice and direct
Cork 6 passed well but was out of position numerous times in the second half
Brownhill 4 truly abysmal.
Cornet 6 should have been an 8 but fluffed the penalty that ultimately could cost us relegation.
Weghorst 7 much better game, looked to be more aggressive.
Jay 6 thought he struggled at times to get involved.

Pope 10 - very rare I give a max but he made a good save from Antonio, and outstanding save from Bowen and the one from Diop is right up there as one of the best I've ever seen
Lowton 6
Collins 8
Tarkowski 8
Taylor 7
McNeil 6
Westwood 6
Cork 7
Cornet 5
Weghorst 7
Rodriguez 7
Brownhill 5
Roberts 6

The thing about his threats yesterday is they didn't really achieve much. Perhaps I was overly harsh at a 4 as I forgot he took the corner we ultimately scored from, but threatning play doesn't count for much if it doesn't have results. It's the same reason why, by contrast earlier in the season, I'd hapiily rate him an 8 for scoring a brilliant goal and doing nothing else all match. Doing nothing for 89 minutes means nothing if in the 1 other minute you score a great goal when nobody else does.
What Cornet strikes me as is, generally, a decisive player. For good and for bad. He either wins you points, or costs you them. The rest of his game often becomes irrelevant, and doesn't always match up with his match-affecting moments.
He's someone I'd always keep in the side because of his X factor but his actual impact on results is incredibly erratic.

I tend to agree here. He's had the three best chances we've created recently against Brentford, Norwich and West Ham. All at key moments in the game to shift momentum in our favour. He has fluffed every one. And yet he slammed in a winner against Everton.

He's definitely a conundrum and the goals are important but as you say without those he kind of flatters to deceive. Chris Wood got slammed on hee for offering nothing outside goals so "if he doesn't score he is a passenger". Cornet is si.ilar but looks a bit flashier

The penalty miss is the worst of the.lot because he made such a mess of it. I could forgive him trying to belt it into the top corner and over egging it over the bar. But what was he thinking with the stupid dummy. Rubbish. Utter rubbish

Nick's Bankesque save was fairly similar to Tom's against Charlie Austin.

According the the official stats, Chris Wood has missed 8 big chances in 30 appearences this season, Cornet 4 in 21.

So does that suggest Wood is more wasteful than Cornet? He certainly had his fair share of missed-sitters before he left.

As for Cornet being similar, I don't agree with that for a second. He's much more of a creator than Wood, in addition to having a really decent goal record for us

Agree. Both were absolutely top draw. Tom's just pips it though for me.

No it's a fair point. I'm merely pointing out that both have been wasteful but Cornet gets an easier ride as he looks better. He's got a good corner delivery though. I make that 2 corner assists I 3 games- ee have misses that
