Newcastle up to forty points now with that win tonight against Palace and playing well.
Hope it doesn't come down to that last game if they continue their form.

COYC
If it does, and the way results are falling it might well, then Everton have a trip to Arsenal, who won 4-2 tonight at Chelsea, and will likely need the points to secure a top 4 place, so I'd take that scenario right now, and fancy our chances of bettering Everton's result if needed.

I remain convinced that 38 points is the target. I don’t think Everton get another 9.

Another late goal, but they'll have had that down as a winnable game and they didn't. We've had our chances so can't complain too much - it's amazing we still have a chance, really, but we do and four points from our next two games and on we go.

If Leicester had scored in the last minute we’d be buzzing they’d dropped two points. One of those things. Let’s hope our lads are up for tomorrow.

Everton have the fight, desire and the quality that we simply don’t have.
We should at least be able to match them on the fight and desire front but for whatever reason this season we haven’t.

You know we beat them a fortnight ago? After being behind at half time.

All winds up the same, but our point at West Ham was better, game difficulty wise, than their point at home to Leicester.

We've not had a good season, but some folk really do view us and other through a weird prism sometimes.

That late Everton goal has probably done for us,under immense pressure tonight to get a result in a massive game,I hope we don't buckle like we have done in previous must wins this season...UTC.

Spot on if we pull off a a massive win tonight and it's game on especially when you look at Evertons remaining fixtures and even more so their next two

Even if Everton had lost we would still need to get points from the games against Southampton and Wolves.

In the grand scheme of things Spijed...I think that point is going to be crucial at the seasons end,we will see,on another subject I can't stand that brooding/sulking Richarlison,he almost single handedly is going to save Everton :(

Win tonight and we're a point behind them, with on paper more favourable fixtures to come, we would have been under more pressure had they bagged all 3 points last night, yes shame they nicked a late point, but they've opened the door for us to catch them, and there's every chance that we'll actually be ahead of them by the weekend.

I do agree we need to turn up in our next 2 games though, it's amazing that with only 4 PL wins to our name we still have a realistic shot at survival, but we do and for that we have to thank Everton.

Its a big ask, but if we can get two wins out of two, then Everton arse will be well and truly quivering

They have never been in this situation and we have to put the pressure on

Not on last night's form.
He should have scored at least 2 or 3 before his late equaliser.
Neither ourselves nor Everton can afford to miss chances now.
( Of course I agree that Richarlison COULD well be the difference.
We don't have a flair player with his talent.)

A violent conduct sending off v Liverpool would go down really well, or a minor injury that puts him out for about a month

We can't control what Everton do and this talk of them having difficult fixtures is mind boggling given how poor we have been this season.
There isn't a Manager and Squad in this League that wouldn't view playing us as a chance to bag 3 points. Several have done so without breaking sweat so all of our fixtures remaining are difficult as are Everton's.

Our players performing for 90+ minutes in every game remaining, along with a slice of luck are the only things that will keep us up!

You say that everyone now sees us as 3 points, but at the same time, we've shipped less than United and not lost all that many, we don't scare teams that they'll lose but I think we pose a likely draw for many. Taking fixtures in isolation independent of form I'd have been thinking a draw at West Ham was possible (I didn't given form and circumstances however), and expect a win Vs Southampton at home and potentially a draw at Wolves given last season's score.
Odds shorten given our form but 4 points from the next 6 is possible even if not probable, and if we pull it off we are back in the fight.

Nothing would please me more than to see the lads turn it on and get a few wins as draws are not enough I fear. The inability to win games definitely the difference between this season and previous when we could scrape a few 1-0.

Completely agree. Easy to criticise several performances because many have been lacking, but it has also been a few genuine "fine margins" (Cornet's misses at Brentford and Norwich, West Ham penalty, five minutes of madness on opening day) which had they been different would have put us in a far more comfortable position. An accumulation of factors from performance levels, form, injuries (to Pieters and Mee most notably) and luck.
