Dwight McNeil

Post by jdrobbo » Thu Apr 21, 2022 9:43 pm

He’s got his swagger back. What a truly magnificent performance that was. Full of energy, fight and skill. This is the player we all know and love. Really well played, Dwight.

His best performance of the season.

But if you listen to many posters on here he can’t play on the right.

He looked really nervous before we scored. Once the first went in though, back to his normal self, and said it on the match thread - so good to see him playing with a smile again

Get quality ball into feet and lo and behold, he and Weghorst look like decent players.

He's our best technician and he showed that tonight.

I've always preferred him on the right, said it earlier in the season too. His best games this season Soton away and Soton home, both on the right.

Dwight McNeil was playing with a smile on his face from very early in the game. Great to see. Dwight had a great game.

Played very well tonight - don't think it has anything to do with SD though.

Players like him will always have lean spells, showed he was back to his best now

I don’t know what to make of that. I think perhaps you want to get the better of me.

I was pulled up earlier for posting on another thread while the match day thread was ongoing. I explained why , for whatever reason I don’t know , perhaps I felt I needed to correct the poster.

Now I get you firing blanks .

I got the last few minutes of the game and saw his sharpness and relaxed body language. I trusted the opinions I’d read from other posters during the game hence my comments in the quote you thought you’d cleverly post.
Stop playing Columbo , it really doesn’t suit you.

He had been subbed in the 87th minute, 8 minutes still to play, so if you caught the last few mins you wouldnt have seen him on

Played very well tonight, good to see him out on the wing and tracking back. Surprised he did not revert to the left wing when Lennon came on though.

I thought tonight once he’d dropped a shoulder and looked what was on he had options so he didn’t have to turn himself in circles looking for the next phase in play.

Simple terms the shackles were off everyone which benefits your winger cos he’s got someone to pass to…..or not pass to but the pass has to be covered by the defender meaning he can side step the next man

Really? He looked like the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders tonight. Hell of a coincidence if it's nothing to do with Dyche.

I think the embrace by Jackson and then Mee's smile and hug says an awful lot about how low Dwights confidence had gotten. I mean this is a young lad whose manager only weeks ago said the boo's would help him grow as a man, I mean for someone supposedly protective of his players, it sure seemed like he was throwing Dwight under the bus

I have appreciated Dyche and what he has done for us...but I am glad he has gone. He had took as far as he could, and was taking us down. I said as much but always respectful of what he had done, but the last 18 months, have been shocking and I for one am not bothered in saying I am glad he has gone, and not just him but what I believe was a toxic coaching staff whom knew or thought they were okay because Sean had their backs. All my opinions but enough is slowly coming out, Westwoods thanks to Pace, Collins and Roberts interview, Tarks before saying they could play football a bit more now, Jackson saying we havent done much with them but reassured them they can play football.

The shackles had been tightened too much. They believed they werent good enough to play any other way, the last 2 games show we and they were all brainwashed (not me though, I have been saying for 12 months Dyche should go)
