Watford fan's
I know a lot of Newcastle fan's want Everton to be relegated over us because of how they treated Rafa, but I've read a few Watford forum's and they all seem the same and want us to beat them at the weekend even some want us to put a few goals past them, what's their problem with Everton.

Re: Watford fan's
It’s to do with the cup final in the 80’s mainly.
Re: Watford fan's
How could I forget that…! It was my first visit to Wembley with my dad, who got compo tickets for the game. I was 13 I think, didn’t support either team so that’s probably why I forgot it!

1. The arrogance of their fans and owners during the Silva saga.
2. Cheating us out of the 84 Cup final.
3. Spending half a billion on players and getting relegated will be hilarious.

I drove into Watford that afternoon; it was like a ghost town, everyone either down at Wembley or in front of the television.

1984 Cup Final, Andy Gray heading the ball out of Steve Sherwood's hands to give Everton a 2-0 lead, I remember it being controversial at the time ... and Elton John crying before the game ...
Everton had Trevor Steven and Adrian Heath in their 11, with Alan Harper on the bench ..

My next door neighbour is a season ticket holder. He thinks we’ll win easily as they have been pretty much dire all season.

Remember that controversial cup goal now, but tbh had forgotten about it.
Watford have a fair few reasons to dislike Everton.
These are the sort of games we've not been winning though.....

Just watched some highlights of that 84' final and was amazed to find out Howard Kendall was only 38 at the time.

Just watched the Andy Gray goal again. Exactly as I remember it with a great cross from Trevor. Clearly the keeper has the ball in his hands but can anyone be sure that it would have been disallowed with VAR? Who knows.

Re: Watford fan's
Against Norwich I think Dyche got his tactics all wrong, we were hoofing the ball up to Wout who was up against a championship defence who could handle that sort of play all day long.
This is arguably Watford last chance to avoid mathematical relegation, they won't be down if we win but 12 points behind with 4 games to go and 20+ negative goal difference they'd be as good as so you think they'd be up for this one. Perhaps MJ will opt to play counter attacking and use the pace of Cornet, Lennon and Vydra to cause them different kinds of problems. I'm sure that the Watford fans would be fearing the worst if Vydra starts.
Now that Dyche has gone I hope our new owners won't be as fickle as the Watford owners with future managers.

Re: Watford fan's
If it happened now it would be disallowed for the same reason as Barnes' goal was disallowed on Sunday - if the keeper has his hands on the ball, you can't touch it. But that wasn't the law then. Gray headed the ball, not the keeper, and under the laws at the time I think it was probably legal, certainly legal enough for the ref not to change his mind if VAR had been around.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 8:11 amJust watched the Andy Gray goal again. Who was the forest player who headed the ball out of the keeper's hand when he was just standing there holding it out? Crosby? That was deemed legal (and funny) as well.

Watford has always struck me as being a Southern equivalent of Burnley whenever I've visited. Plus it is always good to have a ground that's at the heart of a community

Re: Watford fan's
What about Luton ? Are they not a similar community club similar to Watford and Burnley ? Luton v Watford is very akin to Burnley v Blackburn.
Having watched Luton in the mid 70s/early 80s when Alan West arrived from Burnley and they had the Futcher brothers, (not forgetting chairman Eric Morecombe), my wish is for Luton up ,Watford down and the Clarets to revisit Kenilworth Road in the Premier league.

Gary Crosby the Forrest player, Andy Dibble the Citeh keeper.

I can't help being glass half full about this one. Super performances vs Everton, WHU, Southampton, and Wolves, and we "threw one in" Stan-like vs Norwich. I'm feeling another one of them in my water

I was thinking the same. 6 used, 2 correct and 4 wrong.
If he stopped using them altogether his score would improve from
33% to 67%
Got to be worth a try?
Re: Watford fan's
As far as I can see Claretmov has used 4 correctly out of 6. I've, I'd, what's, and let's, are all correct. So stop whinging.
Tip for anyone interested - if you're adding an S to signify more than one of something, such as fans and forums, don't use an apostrophe. Not needed.
Tip 2 - don't let miserable beggars stop you using a football forum. People whose grammar and spelling ain't so good are still allowed on.
Tip 3 - there are ways of correcting errors and there are ways not to.

Re: Watford fan's
Are you sure? I can't see some of these correct ones.
Who is trying to discourage anyone from posting on here?
I think a few of us are trying to point out in a light-hearted way, that for the sake of a small correction, the OP's grammar could improve.
Or should we not try to help people?
If I have caused offence, then I apologise.
