Will our experience be the difference
I know a lot has been made of us having the oldest average age in the PL, but with that comes nous and the know how of what it takes in a relegation battle, and we possess that in spades, whereas neither Everton or Leeds have been down this road before, so for me that could hold the key if it's tight in the last couple of games.
That and the fact that our rivals will also be well aware we have plenty of history in staging revivals, plus now we're finally stirring albeit incredibly late in the campaign, and I sense the force is with us in Star Wars terms.

Experience, knowhow and commitment to each other, will win the matches.

It is interesting to see the co-ordinated Everton fans are making to drive their team on - what they have planned for Sunday's game against Chelsea will either inspire or freeze the players - I am going for inspire

My Everton supporting mate says they look like they're shitting themselves whenever they take the pitch - it wouldn't take much to tip it the wrong way.

They can shout all they like, I can't imagine Chelsea being fazed by the Everton fans. They'll soon quieten down when Chelsea take the lead.

It is about the teams bus route to the ground, think Liverpool on European nights - should make them feel 10 ft tall - thousands out to urge them onevensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 9:24 pmThey can shout all they like, I can't imagine Chelsea being fazed by the Everton fans. Until Chelsea hand them their arses on a plate.
Chelsea need the points too, they're not going to be put off by a load of Everton hype.

A myriad of variables will be at play without pinpointing exactly why, you just have to hope it’s enough.
Re: Will our experience be the difference
Yeah I saw this. Looks like they are all meeting to cheer the team coach in etc. I have a bad feeling they will win this one, we really need the 3 on sat to give them some extra pressure.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 8:58 pmIt is interesting to see the co-ordinated Everton fans are making to drive their team on - what they have planned for Sunday's game against Chelsea will either inspire or freeze the players - I am going for inspire

Re: Will our experience be the difference
What goes on at Vicarage Road is far more relevant.
Re: Will our experience be the difference
We need to keep the pressure on both Everton and Leeds
so that means a win at Watford and then hopefully Leeds get turned over by City.
Everton will know our result and irrespective of what it is will go hell for
leather against Chelsea probably even more so if they know we and Leeds have lost
I just hope we do the same against Watford and improve the goal difference
as it could well come down to that.
It's in our hands as they say.

Re: Will our experience be the difference
Not sure I see the character in the Everton group
Certainly think we have the edge as far as team spirit and togetherness is concerned
Wanting it more is a huge factor in the remaining games
That being said Everton perfectly capable of getting something from a hit and miss Chelsea
Psychologically we need them to go into that game looking at a five point gap and hoping it weighs heavily on them

Re: Will our experience be the difference
Chelsea's away record is the second best in the division behind Citeh, won 11, drawn 4, lost 2.
They are not usually hit and miss on the road.

Re: Will our experience be the difference
their players also know them to be vitriolic ****. They have abused virtually everyone at the club this season , either on Goodison, or on social media. No one has been safe, not even the toffee ladies or the tea ladies.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 9:36 pmIt is about the teams bus route to the ground, think Liverpool on European nights - should make them feel 10 ft tall - thousands out to urge them on
Any decent player at that club would plot a defeat just to get one over their scummy supporters.
There are thousands of decent Everton fans, but their idiots take some beating.
If I was Keane and picked, I would be concentrating on a hat trick of own goals just to shove it back in the ******* faces.

Re: Will our experience be the difference
Chelsea can't afford any slip ups I can't see Everton getting more than a draw. They were terrible against us and needed a last minute goal to rescue a point against Leicester.
Course they'll probably go and win now but I see to little suggest they can beat Chelsea or Leicester away.
Watford, Brentford and Palace will decide their season and if we can put a few points between us and them by the time they get to Watford the belief will ebb away.

Re: Will our experience be the difference
Perhaps a good thing they didn’t win last night (even though they deserved to) as it means they’ll still be wanting the win on Sunday.

Chelsea let a very poor Manure team take a point ,let's hope they turn up and win at Goodison
Irrelevant though as long as we do the business at Watford

We've had a great last three games, but we desperately need to win against Watford or at least take a point otherwise we're back to the drawing board.
Win and the great escape is definitely on.

Re: Will our experience be the difference
Bump.
Credit to the lads they didn't panic when things weren't going well today, and dug out a huge win in the dying minutes.
The gauntlet firmly laid down to Everton and perhaps even Leeds now, let's see how they respond to the pressure.
Those late goals must be a real gut puncher for both, when it looked for much of the 90 minutes we weren't taking anything home.
