Re: Michael Jackson chant
We'd like to thank Mike for his work as in a temporary role and move him back into his backroom position ASAP.
We need an exceptional managerial appointment and the performance today for 80 minutes showed that.

Re: Michael Jackson chant
I think it goes something like:
We’ve got super Michael Jackson
He know just what we need
Tarky at the back
Weggy in attack
Staying in the premier League
We’ve got super Michael Jackson

Tarky at the back
Weggy in attack

We've got Super Michael Jackson,
He knows exactly what we need,
Tarky at the back, Weghorst in attack
Burnley's staying in the Premier League

I’d agree with the majority of that but the chant was still good

It's a good chant but Mike Jackson is not the answer to our problems.

Re: Michael Jackson chant
He is NOW!! That is all everyone is concentrating in right now. We will deal with a new manager at the end of the season. Lets enjoy this amazing turnaround. This last hurrah by many of our older players, the likes of Barnes, Cork, Bardsley, Lennon, Jay Rod, Vydra and even Tarks at our club. Each game is one they want to put their last ounce of their being into. A last fairytale for them. Every single one of our squad and what coaching staff is left has pulled together, no room for negativity, no thoughts on if they are going to get new contracts next season. Just a belief that they have each others backs, that if this is a farewell, it will be one for them and us as fans to remember for years to come. Their names etched in our memorys when people ask in 20 yrs time who were that team.
Just enjoy this moment Rowls, enjoy the sweat given to the shirt, the pride with which each one wear the shirt.

I thought it was
“We've got Super Michael Jackson,
He knows exactly what we need,
Tarky at the back, Wout in attack
we’re staying in the Premier League”
But not sure. Seems like they are a couple of versions.

Four games unbeaten after the difficult season we have been witness too . A poor performance in part of a game that we eventually win and you call for a new man to be installed ASAP . If Mike Jackson eventually returns to his previous role remains to be seen . However its imperative he continues in his present capacity until the conclusion of the season . You are entitled to your view , good job you're in the minority

A football team lives or dies by their choice of manager. Take a look at how well Everton (now West Ham) did under David Moyes. Look at Man Utd both before and after Alex Ferguson.
On the contrary, look at how West Ham and Newscastle fared when they had a bad manager - Glen Roeder. Both got relegated.
This isn't Mike Jackson's first role, he's failed as a manager twice. Badly. Look it up.
A well drilled and well organised side can keep their shape and organisation for only so long. Take a look at Martinez's first season at Everton when he inherited David Moye's squad and David Moye's defensive organisation. Martinez built his reputation based on David Moye's defence.
Sean Dyche was remarkably successful in his short reign at Watford where they were relegation favourites. His success at Burnley is off the scale.
Don't think you enjoyed today's result any more than I did and don't for a second imagine I'm anything other than ecstatic with the result. But the performance was poor and we were playing a team that were effectively relegated before the game.
Mike Jackson is keeping the seat warm. Nothing more than that. Listening to interviews with him, he seems to understand this. Don't imagine you cheer him on any more than I do, because you don't.
We need a good appointment, although it's probably not going to be until the post-season. Hopefully it's for a fresh Premier League campaign.

10 points from 12 and probably getting manager of the month would argue differently.

Doing a good job is not the same as actually being a good manager.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 10:04 pm10 points from 12 and probably getting manager of the month would argue differently.
He's doing a great job in the circumstances. But he's not even on the long list for replacing Dyche.

Re: Michael Jackson chant
Sorry lads but because I really hate negativity I'm gonna leave it at that.
Mike's doing a great job right now as caretaker. But that's all he is - a temporary caretaker manager.
He's apparently an excellent coach. I'll continue to cheer him on for the rest of the season and fingers crossed for a few more wins to see us safe.

We got a bounce off the players and it's been a long one....its quite obvious the players wanted shut of Dyche ....and they are playing without his constraints ....I agree Rowls Jackson is keeping the seat warm for someone ....well....more high profile.

Re: Michael Jackson chant
Just looking at the reaction of everyone on the bench after Brownhill's goal told me enough to realise it is a collective. Seeing Bardsley et al punching the air in delight is enough to convince me of that. Will it be enough? Well, I want to find out if it is.
Re: Michael Jackson chant
According to someone on the Watford website, Jackson has managed more points in his 4 games at Burnley than any of their 3 permanent managers have managers in their spells this season.

No one is seriously advocating for any of our backroom staff, no matter how well they've done, to become our full time managing staff?

Re: Michael Jackson chant
I don’t think Michael Jackson is even thinking becoming manager at Burnley.
That doesn’t take away the fact he’s doing a great job and deserves a song for what he and his staff are doing now.
Just think of this: everyone was underwhelmed when he was given the reigns after SD was sacked. Who’d ever imagined an under 23 coach to guide us to possibly the greatest escape ever since we nearly dropped out of the leagues so long ago?

Re: Michael Jackson chant
A chant about a temporary manager, a player about to leave and a CF so underwhelming it defies belief ! Perhaps there was actually some coke in the wraps sold as such ?

Nice to hear a chant that's fairly original for a change. Interested to see what it sounds like at 100mph when the cricket field stand gets hold of it though

Well he is right now when we need it, I'd say if he wants to stay interim manager leave him in that position until the start of next season if after say ten game's it's not working then he returns to the u23s and we bring in a new manager if he's doing a good job after ten offer the job full time.

You can't argue with results and the results have been great.ClaretMov wrote: ↑Sun May 01, 2022 9:17 amWell he is right now when we need it, I'd say if he wants to stay interim manager leave him in that position until the start of next season if after say ten game's it's not working then he returns to the u23s and we bring in a new manager if he's doing a good job after ten offer the job full time.
But when it comes to matters that need a judgement call rather than a simple analysis it's a different matter.
I'm fully supportive of Mike Jackson continuing as temporary caretaker, until the end of the season.

Where did Dyche play Tarks and Weggy?
Re: Michael Jackson chant
Perhaps later it should have changed to Tarky at the back and Barnesy in attack.
