Top Tier Empty??
How comes half of the away sits empty?
With a game like this and we're told it's sold out!!

Whoever made the decision to not take the tickets needs a severe talking to tomorrow.

I don't get it tbh? Huge huge game.. and we take a league 1 allocation.
No wonder no one wants us in this league

Surely plenty of time to sell the tickets after it was rearranged

Re: Top Tier Empty??
We wouldn’t have sold it out. It’s a massive allocation on a midweek game shown on sky with a fed up fan base
Re: Top Tier Empty??
But if Villa weren't going to sell them to their own fans anyway surely we could have asked for them 3 weeks ago?

Re: Top Tier Empty??
I thought that they were empty because they didn't want home fans above us.
We took enough, more than a tenth of our home support. Well done to those who went.

I'm pretty sure we would have shift the upper tier also. Don't underestimate the fanbase.

Ludicrous decision. I know dozens of people who went/wanted to go to last night's game who, for various reasons didn't fancy the game in December.

There is no doubt we’d have sold out that top tier given the chance.

Re: Top Tier Empty??
According to our ticket office when I asked the question if are we now going to take the top tier, I was told that we couldn't as Villa had sold it to their fans. I pointed out that on their seating plan it was blocked out and, therefore, not available to home fans, I didn't get a response/reply! Very poor for the team to see a half empty away section.

Re: Top Tier Empty??
sounds similar to what I was told when the limited numbers went on sale again and I missed out on a ticket - I'm furious after seeing that whole block empty. We should have been able to be there and fill it to help the team!Leisure wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 9:44 amAccording to our ticket office when I asked the question if are we now going to take the top tier, I was told that we couldn't as Villa had sold it to their fans. To say Villa had sold seats in that section is clearly a lie, and to be honest disgusting. I know at least 30 who couldn't get tickets. It needs sorting out. Worried we may lose 40 grand on unsold seats?? I'm more worried about the 60 million we will lose to MSD to have new owners.

Re: Top Tier Empty??
Not a chance the whole of the top tier would have sold out. Maybe a couple of hundred at most regardless of the euphoric 'I wanted to go with x of my mates' type statements.
An additional thousand plus travelling by train and car or organising coaches themselves?

Not being rude mate, but really got the bug again this season, been all over watching us again as have many of my mates. Im a family bloke now with 2 Burnley mad young lads, this season at 8 and 10 we (Mr and Mrs MBIC) have started taking the lads around England, (Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, London, Watford) We were nowhere near getting tickets. So many lads I know couldnt get tickets, without doubt we would have shifted the other 2k easily.JohnMac wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:43 amNot a chance the whole of the top tier would have sold out. Re: Top Tier Empty??
I was sat in the North Stand right next to the Burnley fans. Villa fans I went on with were saying it was a very poor turnout from us in terms of numbers. They compared it to a Championship turnout at best. They gave credit to those who were there for the atmosphere they created.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:35 amHonestly it's a disgrace. I know plenty who couldn't who had the points!!!
Re: Top Tier Empty??
It really shouldn't have mattered whether or not we would have sold it out. As usually the away club has to take tickets on the basis of paying upfront for any part of the full allocation that, if the away club doesn't take them, the home club would be able to sell them to their own fans eg Liverpool, Everton (top tier). This presumably wouldn't apply at Villa, as they appear to not sell the away top tier to home fans, so difficult to understand why we didn't take it but would love to know the reason!

They may have got to general sale for the original game, but then they may not have been able to make the rearranged game and didn’t return their tickets for refund

Be easier to go on a quest to search for the meaning of life Pete than to try and get that info out of Burnley FCLeisure wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 7:37 amIt really shouldn't have mattered whether or not we would have sold it out. Re: Top Tier Empty??
I tried to get a ticket when they went on sale and they were gone within a few hours.
So 3 of us did not make it.
Would easily have shifted the extra tickets. Agree it makes us look tinpot when we are not. Our away support is very good when it matters.
And yes, those who went, as ever, were brilliant.
Anyway, onto Sunday.

Re: Top Tier Empty??
Nope. Maybe originally..
But it was 6k points for the resales and they were snapped up.
Judging the attendance on the previous fixture is different. Confident that tier would have been sold.
Besides its a cost the club should have taken.

Re: Top Tier Empty??
I don't doubt that. Just a pity that some kept a ticket, which could have been resold. Perhaps some forgot or got ill at the last. Who knows. Nonetheless, there were spaces.
Re: Top Tier Empty??
A few observations -
1. Possibly quite a few people didn't ask for a refund as our Club didn't advise that this option was available to fans who couldn't make the rearranged game. I was told by the Ticket Office that every person who purchased a ticket for the original game would be contacted to explain that this was an option and to give them a deadline. As far as I'm aware this didn't happen.
2. Anyone who lost their ticket from the original date and didn't know the seat number couldn't get a replacement ticket.
3. As lots of single seats went back on sale, many people stood with their friends rather than occupy the single seat, leaving seats looking vacant.
I still fail to understand why we wouldn't ask for the top tier for the rearranged game and if we did, why Villa wouldn't agree to this, thereby losing ticket income??
